Internet Ministry Writer/Content Developer


Responsibilities:

  • Create content for the Campus ministry’s evangelistic sites and outreach initiatives 
  • Train and coach students involved with campus ministry to write 
  • Write articles that are in harmony with the iamnext.com ministry philosophy and approach. Articles may be from 750 to 3,000 words. They may be based on personal experience, research or personal interviews 
  • Writing titles and teasers for new and existing articles. Select images to accompany articles 
  • Interview students who have a story to tell and develop into writing. Edit submitted stories and testimonies 
  • Create adaptations of longer works, either books or longer articles as assigned by an editor 
  • Rewrite existing material on the site and create adaptations 
  • Research source material 
  • Write appropriate gospel closes or transitions to gospel elements on existing articles 
  • Create other accessory items such as polls, conversation starters, discussion board leads 
  • Mentoring 
  • Blogging as the equivalent to a columnist is an option. Those who demonstrate an aptitude and understanding for what iamnext.com is doing may be invited to post their own evangelistic blog or participate in a shared blog. Evangelistic blogging is a skill to be learned 

    Qualifications:

  • A deep, growing, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ
  • A genuine desire to see people’s lives changed 
  • A professional approach and demeanor 
  • Undergraduate degree in English Literature, Journalism, Communications or Humanities background 
  • Keen and gifted in writing and communicating biblical truth, student issues and experience in a relevant and compelling way to university students 
  • Understands Campus for Christ philosophy and methods

 

Reporting Relationships:
Reports directly to Campus Internet Ministry Content Editor

Working Conditions:
Normal office conditions prevail
