“A cheerful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones”
(Proverbs 17:22).
Beth always worked hard at whatever she did. She was reliable and competent.? Her day-timer was quite full of work, church and other responsibilities.
But the candles of over commitment could only be burned for so long!? Soon she lacked a desire to read God’s Word, to spend time with friends and to do other things she usually enjoyed.
Finally she shared her dilemma with a friend.? The friend simply asked if Beth had taken time to “play.???? The thought never crossed Beth’s mind!? She was expecting to hear a 12-step process, not a mandate to go to the beach!
The Bible says, “A merry heart is good like medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.???? Don’t let the busy-ness of life break your spirit or rob your joy.? Take time to enjoy God’s gifts, today!
