“You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I”
(John 14:28).
Three years ago, my late husband, Bill, was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis…an incurable and fatal disease.
During the three years which followed, a verse in the book of John helped carry me through those trying years.? In fact, it still does.
In that passage, Jesus was preparing His disciples for the fact that He would soon be leaving them. He said, “If you really love me, you will rejoice, for I’m going to Heaven to be with my Father.???
I realized that if I really loved Bill, I would rejoice that God is taking him home to heaven.? It helped ease the pain of my loss.? And, although I miss him dearly, I can and do rejoice for I know he’s rejoicing.
If you have a Christian loved one who’s passed away…take heart…in fact, rejoice…they are with the Father.
