A Servant’s Heart

Jesus said, “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant…”

Matthew 20:26-28

Several years ago, my dear husband Bill was planning to take me to an elegant restaurant for our anniversary.? ? But a friend who operated a soup kitchen for the homeless asked if we would serve the food that night.?

We agreed, even though I was disappointed to sacrifice my special dinner.?

But as I began to serve those hungry people, I received an even greater gift

I knew God was pleased that I was being a servant to Him and to others.?

My desires were quickly forgotten and I felt compassion on those precious people.

Jesus said, “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant…????

Friend, a true leader has a servant’s heart.? When you see a need, don’t wait to be asked.? Humble yourself and be a faithful servant.?
