“… but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”
(Acts1:6-9 )

The pressure is on. The problems in our life are multiplying, and there is enormous temptation to choose ungodly solutions. If we are to make wise decisions, we need divine power. And the way to obtain that, according to James 1:5, is to ask for it.

What is this power like? It is a supernatural energy that comes to those who have yielded to God’s plan. It is the identical power we see in the work of Jesus Christ, who resisted Satan’s temptations, raised Lazarus from the dead, and chose God’s will over His own. (Luke 22:42) This divine power is what produces Christlike character in us. It is neither a power to be harnessed nor one that we turn on and off at will. The power belongs to the Holy Spirit, who knows when to use it in our lives.

One of the primary ways He utilizes it is to bring forth spiritual fruit in Christians’ lives. The Spirit knows that unbelievers will be attracted to “Christ in us” when they see believers demonstrating an inner quietness and steadiness that is the exact opposite of typical human reactions. When spiritual fruit is revealed in our lives, it is like shouting the message, “Jesus is real!”

Divine power gives us the authority as well as the spiritual energy needed to carry out God’s plan. The Holy Spirit releases His power so that our lives glorify God and demonstrate the truth of the Gospel?that God does rescue people and transform their lives through Christ.

Won’t you yield to the Spirit’s control so that He may put His dynamic power to work in your life and situation?
