Working For God His Way
“Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner. For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself is doing; and the Father will show Him greater works than these, so that you will marvel.”
(John 5:19-20)
No matter who we are – homemaker, career professional, student, or soldier – God wants to be able to put His name on the work we do. That can happen only if we are doing the labor He has given us and if? – given tasks to His glory?
Share God’s view on obstacles. We see them as a hindrance in our path and a reason not to go forward. God looks at them as opportunities to demonstrate His awesome power. They are occasions for Him to teach us important lessons about His character and the way He operates. In these difficulties, we can learn something about ourselves as well. When God gives us an assignment, He takes responsibility for the barriers that come our way. (Proverbs 3:6) We demonstrate trust in God and glorify Him when we have the correct attitude.
Have God’s perspective on ourselves. God wants us to know for sure who we are in Christ. We are sinners saved by grace. But, just as importantly, we are also called saints. (Romans 1:7) We receive this name because of our position in Christ, which never changes. As saints, we are deeply loved by God. (Ephesians 3:18 – 19) Only when we believe what God says about us, rather than how we feel about ourselves, can we complete His work for His glory.
Take time to cultivate God’s viewpoint. and let His Spirit work through you to glorify God.
