“May the God of hope fill you will all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit???
(Romans 15:13)
Recurrence was never a bad world until recently. Now I am on my third round with breast cancer. It likes to travel and we are fighting it in new places. No one knows how to keep it away or it truly would be gone and celebrations of joy and fireworks would go off around the world.
I learned so much at my first Wellness Center – nutrition, exercises, medical terminology, resources of information and friendly sharing; however, I didn’t hear the word “hope??? until I went to a cancer support group at a church.
Hope…a new word to consider in this cellular battle. Through our pastor – leader, inspiring books, group sharing and prayer, I was introduced to a perspective of positive warfare, thinking and praying through hoping in the “God of hope.???
Yes, this is not the hope of self – effort, the endless striving and self – control. I “may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit!??? His Spirit is in me. His power is working through me, in me and out of me. Even filled with joy and peace! Can that be? He says so. Praise the Lord.
~O God of Hope, I praise You for Your gift of hope and joy and peace. From You, and You only, do they come. Praise to Your name that I can awake in the night and sing in my heart and mind: “Praise the name of Jesus…He’s my Rock, He’s my Fortress, He’s my Deliverer. In Him will I trust.??? I sleep in You and am not afraid. I rest in the hope You give through the Holy Spirit. Thank You for Your indwelling Spirit who lives in me and lifts my soul above fear and dread and defeat. Amen.
Tip for Today: When you wake up at night, sing a song of hope over and over in your inner being and relax in the rest of His Spirit.
