(Exodus 21:12 – 15)
? There is only one way to live the Christian life and that is by obedience to God. Does that sound boring to you? It shouldn?t. You serve a wonderfully creative God who knows all the twists and turns your life will take. If His answer concerning some prayer is no today, then you can be sure there is another avenue He has for you to travel.
Our earthly life comes down to one question: How much do we trust God? If we have a perfect trust in Him, we will let go of our need to control whatever we are facing and allow Him to guide us through each moment. F. B. Meyer writes, “Dread not any result of implicit obedience to God?s command; fear not the angry waters which, in their proud insolence, forbid your progress. Above the voices of many waters, the mighty breakers of the sea, ?the Lord sitteth King forever. . . . ?
“Dare to trust Him; dare to follow Him! And discover that the very forces which barred your progress and threatened your life, at His bidding become the materials of which an avenue is made to liberty.”
Whether it is a decision that must be made or a problem that must be faced, faith in God?s creative love for you is the answer. Be willing to trust Him for the outcome as you acknowledge His greatness and sovereignty in your life. Then rest in the knowledge that He is in control of all things.
