Last week, I introduced this painting to a group of preschool boys I teach, and after telling them it was the most famous painting in the world, I held it up and asked them what they saw.
Boy one: “Trees!”
Boy two: “Mountains!”
Boy three: “A road.”
After a few seconds pause, one finally said, “A girl!”
