We need not be surprised at these types of false doctrines surfacing as it is characteristic of the last days that we live in….the end time harvest is upon us and the return of the Lord Jesus Christ is so near. The apostles cautioned us that heresies and false doctrines would be common in the last days. World events and news headlines are confirming the end time prophecies of the bible and people are searching. Those are the ones who are ripe for the harvest. I think this approach Campus Crusade is using to generate communication with those who don’t yet know the Lord is wisdom at work. Communication is crucial to reaching the lost. What better place to reach them than on their own turf. We don’t have to be afraid as we have all authority and power over all the power of the enemy, those principalities, powers, rulers of darkness and wicked spirits in high places that are behind these heresies. Our battle is not against flesh and blood(Dan Brown, Tom Hanks, Ron Howard etc) but against the spiritual forces of darkness that have deceived these men. Pray for them that the spiritual blindness be removed and God’s truth flood their minds and hearts and use this information from Campus Cruusade for Christ to reach those searching.
I agree. God is far bigger than all of this. He can (and I trust He will) take this book and movie and use them to bring honor and glory to His holy name.
Eloise, I appreciate that you are willing to do something in regards to this film. However may I caution you that if we as Christians do things that catch media attention, we will be responible for providing the movie producers with plenty of free publicity.
I feel that it is much better if we do nothing against the movie but rather be ready to explain the truth of the Bible to those who are asking questions. The movie will most likely generate lots of questions. Let us be prepared to give a reasonable answer for the questions that come out of the movie.

I agree Leah! We need to be very careful not to be judgemental of others and treat them with the grace that Jesus did. Yes, the claims in the book are truly fiction and in contrast to my beliefs, but how would Jesus treat Dan Brown and Tom Hanks? He would lovingly show them the truth about who He was and who His Heavenly Father is. So I say let’s celebrate this awesome opportunity to truly tell others what the truth is about Jesus Christ, and the Bible. You are so right on Leah…God is bigger than DaVinci!

Thank you for comment. Yes, the book has a lot of claims that are wrong and put God in a bad light. We disagree with the books claims but the sad thing is that the world will watch the movie and will read the book and as Christians we need to prepared to answer their questions. For believers we don’t need proof to know that their is a God but a lot of people in this world need proof. It’s hard for this world to “believe without seeing” and we need to be prepared to give them the head knowledge that they need.
I personally take the point of view that God has let this happen because he wants his believers to sharpen their knowledge about the bible and the history behind it. Remember God is bigger than all of this and he wouldn’t let this happen if he didn’t think something good would come of it.
I am so disgusted with Not only Dan Brown, Sony, Tom Hanks, Ron Howard(Opie)anyone promoting or having anything to do with such a FICTION-FRAUD-FOOLISH-FAITH-LESS “DUMB” Vinci Code! If people want THE TRUTH, read DA GOSPELS! See “THE PASSION” of CHRIST, “Oh but in it there is NO LIES, NO SEX, NO FILTHY WORDS………….SHAME on all the above mentioned! Anything for $$$$$, to the point of trashing THE ALMIGHTY, SAVIOR HIMSELF!! They better be thankful, HE has Unconditional LOVE for “ALL” who fall short and are Sinners!! May HE have MERCY, for the Sake of HIS SORROWFUL PASSION, on them, us, and THE Whole World! “REAL” Faith is Believing “WITHOUT” Seeing! AMEN! Do NOT go see such garbage!! I plan to Not only Boycott it, but stand outside of the movie place showing it, with a poster of the above information! Also FYI on it, stating “SP” stands for SAINT PETER, NOT Secret cult! Please help me by doing the same!
