**How has God changed your life? http://talk.thelife.com/2006/06/12/life-transformation/
Do you long to change? Whether it’s an irritating bad habit or a deep-seated insecurity, there is probably something in your life that you wish was different.
Yet a desire for change isn’t enough. We need power to change. Real, life-altering power comes from God.
It begins with authenticity, being real.
“And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit??? (2 Corinthians 3:18).
Living with “unveiled faces??? means coming before God and others as we really are. No masks, no pretending, presenting ourselves – no better or no worse – as we truly are in Christ.
Only then can God make us all He intended us to be.
Next we must surrender.
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind??? (Romans 12:2).
“Renewing of our minds??? begins by agreeing with God that our thoughts, motives and actions fall short of His desire for us, then continues with surrendering our will to Him.
I can daily renew my mind by:
- choosing to believe that God loves me
- choosing to believe that God has a good plan for my life
- asking Him to be in charge of my day
- asking Him to guide my thoughts, decisions and actions.
God is in the business of changing lives. The stories of transformed lives in the Bible are about real people. Their interaction with Jesus profoundly changed their character, their purpose in life, and their actions. We too can experience the joy of being transformed by Jesus when we come to Him as we are and give up control of our lives to Him.
~Jesus, here I am. The only way to really change is for You to transform me, so please show me how to surrender myself to You.

keep up the good work Debra,
I had that same addiction when I was younger and God has helped me as well God Bless you all my Brothers and Sisters in Christ Love Roberta
Hello everyone,
Good for you Debra. That shows how the Holy Spirit can really work in one’s life.
I have been reading a lot on the web about improving and making your marriage stronger in love and Christ, and I have found a really neat web site, http://www.christianitytoday.com. I found that I need to change me instead of trying to change anyone else. I sometimes have negative thoughts about my beloved and I can’t seem to stop them before they come out, so after each one, I stop and pray about it, asking the Lord to help me with the next one that comes along, and it works. I have noticed that when you ask, you receive, unless it’s not the will of God that you receive what you have asked for.
Good luck to all of you, and I pray for each one of your journeys to be safe and Jesus-filled.
One year ago today I took my last drink. It was my mom’s 75th birthday party and I had too much to drink (again). When I woke up the next morning, hung over at my parent’s apartment, I faced a two hour drive home and to work. As I made my journey that morning, I had a long talk with God and told Him the only way I could overcome this terrible addiction was with His help. That morning I totally submitted to His will in this area. I give Him all honor and praise for taking this terrible addiction from me. I see the wonderful power of total submission to His will. He is always there eager to help us but we must submit completely in order to receive His help. This devotional is so fitting today for where I am in my life journey. Thank you.
Life is about being faithful. So often we do not know how to have the power to do what God asks of us. How do we have the power to be faithful to God? Here is something you can check out for the answer. http://www.christianwomentoday.com/growth/spiritfilledlife.html
When you let God take hold of you and change you, life becomes a joyful journey. Let go and let God now!
This devotional and yesterday’s is so on track with the things the Spirit has been speaking to my heart. I have such a struggle with negative thoughts toward a couple of people in my life. I have tried in my own strength to not have these thoughts, but willpower doesn’t change anything. If nothing else, it makes feeling hide deeper and develop in the darkness.
A few days ago I read the verse 1 John 3:6 “No one who lives in Him keeps on sinning.” The Spirit showed me if I am spending time in Bible reading and prayer, that the light of Jesus will begin to change my inner thoughts. I will no longer have to force myself to not think these things, they will no longer be a part of the inner me. They cannot survive next to the truth and love of Christ.
