More Than Enough

“Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life??? (John 4:14).

Jesus knows that we hunger and thirst for more than this world can offer. He created us this way so that we would be in constant fellowship with Him.

When Jesus saw a great multitude of 4,000 who had followed Him for three days, He did not want them to leave hungry and was moved with compassion for them. There were only “seven loaves and a few little fish.??? BUT, it says that they “all ate and were filled??? AND afterwards, “they took up seven large baskets full of the fragments that were left??? (Matthew 15:32-38). There was more than enough! There was even some left over. This is what He wants to do for us. He moves with compassion for us. Daily, and moment by moment, we can call upon Him for more.

Jesus always had more than enough. Jesus was overflowing because He was in constant fellowship with His Heavenly Father. He said He did nothing on His own initiative, but only did what He saw His Father doing (John 14:10). We can walk through life in this same way.

Nowhere in Scripture does it say that we should be famished, full of disorder, filled with negative thoughts, and live a dreary life. Jesus says in Luke 11:13 that our Heavenly Father gives the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him. It’s true! Let us seek our God who lavishes His love upon us by giving us access to the Holy Spirit, just as Jesus had.

Let us be imitators of Christ Jesus. How? By the power of the Holy Spirit. Are you thirsty? Do you long for more? James 4:2 says, “You do not have because you do not ask.??? Call upon Him. He hears your cry. Ask God for more of Himself today.

Prayer: Thank You, Heavenly Father for loving us and sending Your only Son Jesus to die on the cross so that we may have eternal and abundant life. Thank You Jesus, for dying for my sins. Thank You, Holy Spirit, that I have constant access to You in this life.

God is indeed more than enough and able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine. God’s Blessings and God’s Peace.

Today’s devotion resonates with me in so many ways… especially what James 4:2 which says “you don’t have because you don’t ask”.

I thank God that I read it and I know my Heavenly Father is telling me to ask in His name and it shall be given to me according to will and riches in Christ Jesus. It’s taught me today to come before him with all cares and worries and he’ll surely answer and provide.

May His name be praised. Amen!!!

Todays devotional is an exceptional example of a lesson that we can all learn. The quote from James is so true…”You do not have because you do not ask”. So many times in my life lately, I am so caught up in what I want that I fail to ask God to direct me through His will. The purpose of prayer is to align our will with Gods, and in partnership with Him to ask Him to accomplish His will on this earth. Tp put aside our own selfish desires reminds us of who is in control. I so often think my plans are more important than His. I need to be listening to His Word for me and act accordingly as Jesus did. Everything good that happens in my life is a direct result of the mercy of my Father.

The Holy Spirit is my best friend and “Buddy”; He goes with me everywhere. I ask His opinion all day, everyday, regarding all subjects, wherever I am, and whomever I’m with; my friends know “my imaginary friend” is very real to me and to those who also want to be blessed by His holy friendship. I trust His power and love and so I do what my Friend tells me to do and I worry not, ever, not ever. I feel my feelings through circumstances, but I have peace and joy and I am honored God wants to hear from me. GOD YOU ARE THE BEST!

Thank you for this devotional. It is encouraging and it reminds me that I need to be doing what the Lord would have me to do…even if successful results seem impossible. I’m sure the disciples had a difficult time understanding how they were going to successfully feed 4,000 plus people with 7 loaves of bread and a few fish! That’s just not logical! So often I forget that my Lord is not limited in His power and He is so far above and beyond anything that we can imagine.
So many believers in Christ today are giving up. It is all too easy to throw our hands up and say that it can’t work…so why try. We need to be telling others about Jesus Christ and His love, however often we quit if people don’t respond as we would like them to. We need to make our voice heard in America when they try to take God out of the schools and out of the courts and out of our government. However, too often we do nothing because we don’t believe that anything we say or do will make a difference. Too many marriages are ending in divorce…even those of believers in Christ. For some reason, reconciliation and restoration of the marriage is seen as impossible.
In each case, if we would simply obey God and step out on faith and do what we know is right, we would see the power of God revealed in our lives.
I’ve come to realize that I can do nothing of myself. I have no power of my own! However, when we obey the Lord and put our trust in Him – even when things seem impossible – He will work through us and we will see the hand of God in our lives, in our nation and in our marriages and homes. Not only does He heal and restore…He goes above and beyond anything we could ever imagine! Just like the baskets of food leftover after feeding the crowd of people with such a small amount of food to begin with…they had more than enough.
He will pour out blessings until they are overflowing when we truly follow Him. Thank you again for reminding me of this truth.

  • God will show mercy to whom He wants to show mercy and compassion to whom He wants to show His compassion . The world will give you temporal happiness and nothing can fill up the void and empty feeling you have within your whole being . It is our personal choice to make Him always present within our midst if we choose to fixed and turn our eyes upon Him always . Practicing the discipline to be always to be in His presence is now the first desire of my heart . I pray that I will never turn away from Him . I pray He nudges me if I go back going my own way specially in my relationships with my own family , relatives , friends and co workers . May my spirit be quicken to yield to the Holy Spirit and for Him to infill me always. May Gods word be hidden in my heart and may I always have the faith to entrust everything to Him .

This devotional was just what I needed…for my God shall supply ALL my needs according to His riches…
I know everything God does is for my good, even if I don’t feel like it is.
My prayer used to be, “God, bless what I have planned.” Now, it’s “Lord, not my will, but your will be done.” His will may ‘hurt’, but we can’t see what tomorrow holds. He will not put more on us than we can bear. So if it seems like the walls are closing in on you, because life has taken its toll, turn your eyes upon Jesus. Also, open your Bible immediately, because the devil will try to put hurtful thoughts in your head. As you open your Bible, read Philippians 4. God has all the power, the devil is already defeated. I am saying this to you, but I need to believe every word that I “preach.” Glory to my Father, Amen.

Truly, my cup runneth over. Jesus is the author and creator of my life, and through my trails and tribulations he has never forsaken me, never condemned me, and always blessed my life. Your sister in Christ, Lori

Anyone who worship God will never regret it.
I tried tried it and it is good. It is difficult for human being once there is problems. My father in heaven never forsake His own children.

God never gets tired whenever we ask for anything so far we appreciate him. My father is able. Jesus said knock it shall be open, seek and shall be given unto thee.

Through today’s devotional completely, I surrender all to Jesus.

    Amen
