Are you feeling emotionally fragmented today? If so, consider this…
“Those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God??? (Romans 8:14).
Sometimes, as believers, we can find ourselves being dragged around by our emotions rather than allowing the Spirit of God to lead us through our days.
How does one practically apply steps so as not to be caught on an emotional rollercoaster today?
• Pay attention to what is going on in your heart and mind.
• Acknowledge your emotions.
• Look at the circumstances or the reasons causing your emotion.
If there is something you can physically do to help your situation then ask for God’s help and do it. If there is nothing you can actually do about your situation, tell God you will trust Him to be your strength and your supplier. Ask Him to give you peace in your heart and direction in your steps. Every weakness you have is an opportunity for God to show His strength in your life.
Today let your emotions be a guide, or a tool, to push you back to your God and His strength in your times of weakness. Catch the downward spiral before you get caught in it. Ask His Spirit to guide you to solutions, wisdom, insight, help and strength.
If you are at the bottom of the spiral, tell God you need His help to get up. Ask for His strength to fill your weakness. If you need to talk to a trusted friend to find help and counsel in the journey, then make that call for help. God wants His children to be led by His Spirit, not dragged by their emotions.
~ Father God, I thank you that You are there to help me in every step I take throughout this day. I offer my emotions to You and I ask for Your help in managing them and in seeing them as a tool to help me understand what is going on in my heart. I declare that I want to be led by Your Holy Spirit and not tossed about by emotion. Give me understanding and your help as I keep my heart and mind guarded today. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Nina DJ…your post following mine was very thought provoking. Today I found a psalm 40….and in there it talks about being in a pit and how God puts our feet upon a rock. From what you said, and discovering this verse…it can be easy to drown in a sea of emotions, which i was doing. But i think the psalm means he puts something firm under our feet, like a rock, which might be like waht you said….his truth of his word. so thankyou very much.
Paula , only God can change the hard hearts of those who are the most closest to us An deven of our own . Differing views regarding matters of the heart is really how much we are able to sacrificially give of ourselves in dying to ourselves . It is between You and the Lord , Paula . God’s wisdom , mercy , love and compassion be upon you and your husband to have the covenant you both made before God be fully surrendered into His hands .God loves you wherever , whatever you are in your walk .
Thanks for the inspiration today of all days I needed to hear this. My husband has told me he wants a divorce after 22 years together (6 married). I have been on this emotional rollercoaster since March. I have gone through counciling and at the church as much as possible. I am still believing God for a mircle for my life and ask for his guidance and strength everyday. Just this morning I told my husband I couldn’t do this anymore, he needed to decide what he is going to do with his life in order for me to get on with mine. I want my loving, humble, christian husband back and I know God can restore but today I finally spoke up after weeks of silence. I know what ever happens I will be fine as long as I keep my eyes on Jesus.
Thanks again for a bit of peace today. God Bless you all.
Like the waves of the ocean we are tossed from varied heights if we are not grounded with God’s word . May we align our emotions to God’s word that can truthfully lift us up from all differing heights of varied circumstances that we will encounter in our lives . God You alone are Omnipotent , Omnipresent and Omniscient .
I have been trapped, ensnared again into a yoke of emotions. I feel I have been sucked into a vortex of emotions over certain things that I have tried to change but cannot…..I thought I was doing better….and wham….im stuck in this pit……I know I cant get out by myself, and then i saw your devotional reading. I have said the prayer at the end of it. And have also quietly spoken to God myself about things…..I feel Im swirling, spinning…..so I am glad taht maybe God has made me see your article….and I have read adn the answers. I hope for me He will come.
I will feast on this all day long. The inheritance of the Lord will not spoil or fade. Thank you Jesus, when everything else crumbles around me, I thank God for his unmatchless, unfailing love.
Father God, help us to keep our emotions in check by focusing on you instead of our problems. You are much bigger than all we can imagine and we thank you that all things work for the good to those who love you. Help us be strong in You.
Father,
Thank you today for guiding me, loving me, teaching me, keeping me, protecting me,providing for me,comforting me, strengthing me,holding me. I love you in Jesus name

Ladies,
Thanks for the prayer intercession. Wow! We have only just begun to understand the power and blessings of prayer.
Charlene
I also request for someone to pray for my family. My father in law has just had a stroke and although he’s recovering from the stroke symptoms very well, his heart is not doing so well. They are doing tests on him today to see what’s happening and if he will be strong enough for a quadruple bypass. Lord I pray that you give John’s heart the strength and endurance that will be needed for such an undertaking. I also pray that you give strength and comfort to his wife, Jan, in this trying time. Please also give strength and comfort to my husband, Ryan, who is having a particularly hard time with this. Please let him know that You are a great comfort to him and that no matter what happens, his daddy will be ok. Thank you for all that you have done, are doing, and all that you will do. Amen.
Heavenly Father,
I pray for Charlene’s mother that You will give her peace of heart. That she will turn to You as her comforter and her Friend. I pray that she will spend her time getting to know You better. I pray that You be with Charlene as she gives comfort to her mother – give her wisdom, patience and joy. Thank you for how You will help them both now and that they might know that You have a plan for thier lives. Thank for what You will do. I pray this in Jesus’powerful name. Amen

Hi everyone,
This is an amazing devotional!
My mom was just told that her pancreatic cancer has now spread to her lungs. She is a jumble of emotions and is medicating herself with sleeping pills to numb the emotional pain.
Could I ask you to pray for peace of mind and a steadfast spirit?
Charlene
I love to listen to praise music and I also do that. It empowers me!
Hey DJ
Another suggestion may be to turn on some Praise music and begin Praising Him — to get your focus back on Him instead of circumstance and/or situation. This I know will help me … and to also cast all my emotions onto Him so He can help me with them!!
Give it a try …
Hugs and Blessings to you!!

Sometimes I let my emotions rule my day. I have to stop and take a deep breath and ask for wisdom.
Lord Jesus:
Thank you for leading me to this devotional this morning.
May you be the train engine.
May your word (the Bible) be the fuel.
So that my emotions are the result, just like the caboose of a train.
I want to be lead by your spirit.
Thank you for a healthy path.
Keep me strong in you.
God Bless those reading this.
In Jesus name I pray.
AMEN

I find myself wanting but I can’t buy right now the price so up till I want by december .. but I don’t ever think why.
amen ..
Dearest Father,
Thank you that you were already at work in my heart and this devotional just confirmed it. Sometimes as women we feel we must do it all. Sometimes, we need to be still before you and ask for your strength. Sometimes we need the love of others to help sustain us. At times we must let others know we are weak and receive their help. There are many circumstances where you will not let it change for a season in order to grow us in You. During those times, may our faith in You keep us strong knowing that you will not give us more than we can handle.
May we trust in You… Amen
