Jesus Is Always There!

“The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms??? (Deuteronomy 33:27).
.
She walked into the office on Tuesday morning and the first thing she did was hand me her letter of resignation. She would be leaving in two weeks, she told me. She had another job. I had been expecting her resignation, but in two weeks? I thought she would be leaving at the end of the year. To find a replacement before the new year began, seemed almost impossible.  There were so many things I had to learn in those two weeks.

My heart and spirits went “thud??? and I felt like running – maybe read a good book. But Elisabeth Elliott teaches, “Do the next thing??? and so I kept working. I continued answering e-mails and began listing all the things that needed to be done before she left – e-mail addresses that needed changing and procedures we had to learn before she left. But most important was to find someone to replace her.

My spirits were very low. I told my husband I felt like I was at the bottom of a pit looking up. But I wasn’t there by myself. Jesus was there with me – He kept whispering promises in my ear:

*   “I will never leave you or forsake you??? (Deuteronomy 31:6).
*   “As your days, so shall your strength be??? (Deuteronomy 33:25).
*   “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory forever and forever??? (Philippians 4:19).
*   “Fear not, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with       my victorious right hand??? (Isaiah 41:10).

He kept whispering these and many other promises in my ear.

Well, we learned the procedures during the next two weeks and searched for a new assistant. We were able to learn what we needed to learn in order to keep functioning and less than a week later we were having dinner with our new assistant and her husband. She would begin working in two weeks. The Lord provided what I thought was impossible, a new assistant before the new year!

God is good. He does not abandon us. He is always there. He cares more about us and His work then we do.  Don’t fret, listen to Him whisper promises in your ear. God is there. He will take care of you.

~Father God, you are so amazing.  So tender and caring.  Thank you for supplying all of our needs.  Amen.

Blessed be the name of the Lord. On Friday, I left a message stating that my tire was losing air on my way to work. THerefore, I was driving with an almost flat (on the highway, mind you) and the Lord protected me. I called a friend and he directed me to a place that would put air in the tire for free. When I got there, they wouldn’t do it, and told me to go somewhere else. I did, and the guy told me that a nail pierced through my tire. So, i would need a patch. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough to even get the air and patch on my tire. I got so discouraged, then the Lord impressed the heart of the mechanic, and he fixed my tire for free. He immediately understood my situation, and was more than willing to do so (even as I refused). BLESSED BE THE NAME OF THE LORD. He led me directly to this nice man to do this service for me. HALLELUIAH! There is no problem too hard for the Lord. Thank you for your prayers.

    Dear Father,
I too have financial problems, as you know. It is becoming too much to bear. Please help me. Please protect my family and be with all the needs requested today. Lord only you know best.

Heavenly Father, Thank you for all the comments today regarding this devotional. They are so encouraging. I so much appreciate the fact that we can share each other’s problems and pray for them. Lord, I pray that you will be with each individual here. I pray that you will help Natacha with her finances … that her car will not give her any more problems and it would be great if she could find a job that paid more money to help meet her financial responsibilities. I pray this in Jesus’ powerful name. Amen

  • Bettye says:

I have had several “surprise” problems “And he said unto me, my grace is sufficient for you Bettye: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Mostly gladly therfore will I glory in my infirimites that the power of Christ may rest upon me {11 Corinthians 12:9}. No matter what the circumstance I look unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith{Hebrews 12:2}. Sometime when I am going through and heaven seem slient the Holy Spirit whisper “For verily I say unto you, that whosover shall say unto this mountian, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not DOUBT in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith”{Mark 11:23}. For with God nothing shall be impossible {Luke 1:37}. Praise him, Praise him. Amen!Joyfull Blessings to All.

My Dear Sisters-today’s blogs remind me that there are so many places in our hearts to hurt…I thank God that He is always there to lean on when we realize that the events in our lives are too much to handle alone. Kim, I pray for your father…Lord, let the biopsy show a treatable cancer and restore him to the fullness of health in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ. For the rest of our sisters, I pray for God’s continued guidance in finding shelter, tendering resignations, managing turnover in the workplace, and dealing with overwhelming financial burdens. We know You are in control, and tomorrow will show the extent of your grace and mercy. Thank you for these devotionals and this website! Amen!

If God didn’t send this devotional, I don’t know who did. I am going through so much financial turmoil, I don’t know which way to turn. I am currently a full time graduate (in the sciences) student, going through the looong process of applying to medical school, and I am working two jobs, 30 min. apart from each other (w/o traffic). One is a graduate assistantship, so I get no wage, just a waived tuition. The other one doesn’t pay enough. So, I never make enough to pay my bills, and my checking account just went to a negative. And just this morning, as I was driving the long drive to my first job, a guy on the highway signals me, and points to my tires. I thought, “Oh gosh, what happened, because whatever it is, i cannot afford it.” I was driving slow and scared the rest of the way. Thank God, since today is Veteran’s day, there was no real traffic. So, when i arrived (safely), I saw that my tire was losing air, and is almost flat. “GREAT, just what I need.” I couldn’t help but cry. But I held my composure, and blessed God’s name. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, blessed be His name. But, considering all my financial situations, I did in turn break down. I don’t know how I’m going to fix the situation as of now, but I have faith that God will take care of it. So, please pray for me. And thank you for the devotional, because I will be saying those text and verses all day. I need it. Have a good weekend, all!

But there was a whisper IT WILL BE ALRIGHT). God has taught me to relax do not worry Mathew Chaper 6:26 Look at the birds they dont worry about what to eat they dont need to sow or reap or store up food for you heavenly father feeds them. And you are far more valualbe to him than they are. Will all your worries add a single moment to your life? Verse 34 so dont be anxious about tommorrow. God will take care of your tomorow too. This is a very strong devotional to me. I sometimes need to be reminded of what it said. It really has helped me out in the past few months. I was using this prayer a lot about two months ago when I needed to find a new place to live so that my relationship with God could strengthen. I did not think it possible with college already started and no one needing roomates at that point. I was at my wits end and crying while searching for an affordable house on my very small income. Then God prevaild and got me this house I currently live in. I went through my preacher and God showed his glory by providing a wonderful house for my preacher to present to me. I now live very very cheaply for this area, walking distance from the college, and I’m not living alone (which is something I needed). The house has three other females and are all Struggling Christians like myself. I knew when I found this place that God had taken care of me yet again. I thank you God for giving me and loving me unconditionally through all of my faults. He really is there to help us out and hold our hand when we are afraid/alone or when we are happy/filled. Amen !

  • Peggy says:

This really hit home. It does seem that we are listening not to the whispers of God but to the Loud busy noises of our life. We need our quiet time with God to listen to his whispers. Take even 15 min a day to talk to the Lord and we get through the day with more strength. I seem to go through by day so fast that I don’t even enjoy the gifts that God has given me. Thank you God for all you have given me.

  • ria says:

I thank God for the many ways that he speaks to me. Alot of the times I am looking for one answer and He is providing another. Thats why we are to Stand Still and know that He is God. Alot of times my answer comes from the least expected places..words of my spouse, or my children. I thank God for using them sometimes to get through to me.

I find myself quoting scriptures during my hard times
especially ” He will never leave you or forsake you”
that gets me right through my problems..
Thats why we should hide the Word in out hearts.

  • Kim says:

I really appreciate this devotional as well. My Dad was recently diagnosed with cancer & goes in for a biopsy today to determine what kind. I have been struggling with my faith issues & have kind of been ignoring God – Even though I know that our lives are in His hands & He knows what is best, I guess I have been kind of blaming Him. I needed to be reminded that Jesus is always there & if we just sit & listen, quietly, He will whisper to us & will encourage and will continue to love us, no matter how we are treating Him…..He knows what we are going through & holds our tears in His hands. I’m so thankful that He has more faith in us, then we sometimes have in Him.

  • Lisa says:

I relate strongly to and appreciate practical devotions, such as this one, that mirror the everyday challenges of “real life”. I’m struggling with an issue of my own that may put ME on the side of tendering (versus receiving) a resignation letter. I’m praying for guidance from the Lord in that regard; and want God to “protect me from myself” so that I don’t jump out ahead of his plan for me. I’m trying to listen; but – as noted – the volume of earthly influences and opinions must be drowning out any clear direction the Holy Spirit is providing.

Sometimes God wants us to “stand firm”; other times we are to take a step in faith. I’m just not sure which is appropriate now. I’d appreciate the prayers of others on this blog as I seek godly counsel and direct guidance from the Holy Spirit.

And, yes, it’s SO true. Jesus is ALWAYS there. Sometimes we don’t realize exactly what He’s up to until after the fact (sometimes LONG after!). But there’s never been a time He wasn’t there for me. What a wonderful sense of security we have in Him!

  • Janet says:

I appreciate this devotion so much. It is a reminder to me that I do not listen to the things God is whispering in my ear. Mostly, I think, that is because while he is whispering his promises to me, they are drowned out by all the earthly things that are louder, and maybe easier to focus on. I needed this reminder to listen to the quiet, gentle, yet precious promises that God is whispering to me.

  • Funke says:

Thank God for today’s devotional it remind’s not to loose hope. I speak to me always whenever I asked God for anything which had come to pass. But there is this particular one that made me stop going to church for months and I hardly pray.

With this devotional and other religious web site I was able to retract my step. I realized my mistake that when it is time God will surely make me happy.
