Peace on Earth

Written by Dorothy Brown

The Angles proclaimed “Peace on Earth??? when the Baby Jesus was born. Today we wonder as we listen to the evening news…is peace possible?

The peace we experience inside of us will greatly impact the peace around us.

Inner peace begins with our relationship with God and it continues as we focus on His strength and allow His Spirit to fill us. We can exchange our weakness for His strength in any area of life.  God’s Word says…

“You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is focused on You because He trusts in You??? (Isaiah 26:3 )

Personalize it for yourself… “God will keep me in perfect peace as my mind focuses on Him and trusts Him.???

Inner peace hinges on my belief in Jesus as my Savior… and on my trust in His ability to heal my broken places and to work in my tangled circumstances.

If inner peace is eluding you these days and anxiety spills over in your life, choose to trust God. You can choose to put your hand in His and draw on His patience and wisdom as you take each step. He will guide you through the maze of life if you ask Him.

Choosing to trust God with those blind corners in your life will take you down the road to inner peace. Choosing not to trust Him will take you down the road to stress and worry.

Inner peace is there for the choosing. Choose Jesus this Christmas.

~Father God,

Thank you that the message of peace on earth is possible in my heart as I trust in You to keep my heart and mind focused on You. I know this will also impact the peace I have in the relationships around me.  Forgive me for the anxious turmoil I get myself into. Turn my eyes to You and the fill me with Your peace. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

Gail, the prayer you gave at the end of “Peace On Earth” was better than a prayer I could have said myself.
I had the best christmas ever just by knowing God was helping me through the day. I could feel his presence with every step I took.
Thank you Heavenly Father for letting me have another Christmas with my family. Thank you for all things you make possible. Thank you for coming into my life and letting me know that you will take care of me. I know you are my God.

I am alone many times at Christmas…but not alone because of the Lord. The Holy Spirit fills me daily, as I read His word and pray…so I am ready for those lonely moments. Ann Graham Lotz (Billy Graham’s daughter) recently commented on her mother’s health. She is now weak and confined to her bed, but yet so strong in spirit, because of her faithfullness over the years to walk with the Lord. He has taught me to be content no matter where I am, and regardless of the circumstances. Oh, He is so good! Praise Him for the peace, and comfort, that only He can give!!
God bless you Annie for your walk with the Lord. Someday you will hear “Well done, my faithful servant”. Praying you continue to surrender all to Him so that you feel His love and peace more than ever this next year. Blessings to all!!

Christmas Day was planned to be a family gathering at my house, but plans had to be changed and I was “alone” for the first time in many years. No phone calls (all my friends expected my family to be here}, just “alone”. But I really wasn’t alone. God and I had conversations throughout the day, we talked as I prepared an adjusted Christmas dinner, we read the story of Jesus’ birth from The Message, we rested in each other before a table set for Christmas dinner and ate by candlelight. For the first time in my life, I experienced the true peace of God for a full day. It was wonderful. When I talk with my Lord, I am surrounded by His peace and His love. When I turn loose and turn things over to Him, then I experience His inner peace. Praise God and pray for me and for all of us that we can turn control of our lives over to God. Annie
