by Vonette Bright”This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him” (1 John 5:14 – 15 ).
Author Jeannie St. John Taylor was close to panic. Her son Tevin was due to arrive home from Iraq. But he wasn’t on the plane! His friends and fiancé were anxious as well.
Tevin was good at corresponding with his family. So the lack of word from her son sent Jeannie to her knees. She prayed and watched the news for the next 24 hours.
During this hectic time, Jeannie closed her eyes to enter God’s familiar, sweet presence. She likes to think of prayer as relaxing into the arms of Jesus. And God answered her prayer when Tevin arrived home safely.
Friend, when danger is all around… And you fear for yourself or your loved ones… There’s only one place to turn…
To the throne of God.
It’s only in His sweet presence we can find real peace.

Thank you so much God bless you so much.
Thank you so much just go on with that good heart of encouragments
I too have learned to turn my fears over to the Lord. I just got up from my knees peaying for my wayward son as he and his girlfriend argue over their break-up. I imagined myself in the arms of Jesus just now. Father, thank you for allowing me to relax in your arms tonight! I know you are answering the prayers released to you from bended knee, and I thank you!!
Dear God – Thank you that you hear all of my prayers large and small. Thank you for all of the times that you have answered my prayers. I know that sometimes when it seems that a prayer goes unanswered, that that is not always a case but maybe what I was asking for was not in my best interest in the long run. I know you see the big picture and are leading me to that. I trust in you and pray that you will remind me that nothing is beyond You and that you hear all of my prayers. Thank you for keeping me as your own and not giving up on me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
Thank you Lord just for getting this devotional a day later then I should of. I find that not being able to read these on a daily basis I feel lost without it.
I truly thank God for always being there when you need him. He’s not like man who may be too busy, or not understand. He’s there for you all the time. What I like the most about him. He so want the intimacy from us that he waits for us so patiently. He too wants to hear how much we love him. His prescence is so tender and so sweet. There was a picture of Jesus with sheep all around him posted on the wall at my church. the picture itself was a metaphor for me, to continue to judge my relationship with the Lord. A sheep was in his lap, one at his knees, one by his side, one a few feet away, one had drifted to the back and one afar off. Two places i would always be either in his arms or at his feet depending where my life was at the time. Put that picture in your mind when you’re going through crisis in your life., It will surely help you. You don’t want to be by his side, neither in back of him nor drifting off. These are dangerous places to be for a sheep. His touch, his words and comfort is so AWESOME. Prayer is the key to keep you and strenghthen you for whatever the Lord has for you. I also thank God for having a building (our church) free to go kneel before our maker at any time. Many places don’t have that freedom. WHAT A WONDERFUL FEELING BEING IN THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD. Betty
I thank you, Father, that you offer us the ability to come to you, with anything. None of us are worthy to come to you, but because of your unconditional love for us and your loving thoughts of us, you invite us to come to you with anything. You hear each and every one of us and our words that we lift up to you. Thank you for allowing me to come to you, to talk with you and just to be in your awesome presence! You are amazing, Father and I love you!
Sometimes it’s hard to for me to remember to keep an attitude of prayer when I face a dangerous situation or if fear comes and seems to swallow me up. I am praying that my first instinct in every situation no matter what I’m facing will be to cry out to God for His intervention. I want to always remember that God is there ready and waiting to answer me when I call out Him.
Thank you, Lord, for all the times you have answered my fearful prayers . . . and forgive for the times I have kept my fears and problems and tried to remedy them myself. You do such a much better job than I do !!! Annie
