Sustaining Faith

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1).
Mary and Sam Haskell watched helplessly as their beloved home states were devastated by two powerful hurricanes. Friends lost their homes and life possessions. Then a third hurricane forced Mary’s family to flee their hometown.
But in spite of pounding disasters, Mary saw how God strengthened the faith of her family and friends. Even through trying circumstances, their faith in God sustained them. They knew their heavenly Father would carry them through the tide of personal loss.
Friend, remember Job in the Bible. He admitted to God, “I’m convinced: You can do anything and everything. Nothing and no one can upset your plans.” So, no matter what trials may come your way, look to God. Trust Him. Take His hand and let Him guide you through the storms.

God is and will always be faithfull. I am looking after my three children for the last 13 years after our marriage broke up and it is amazing how This God sustained us and brought us through. As i look back i will only acknowledge that He never left us nor forsaked us. Have faith in this Faithful God.
Almost ALL of these devotionals seem to come at just the right time! Thank you Christian Women Today. I forward these all over the place :o)
To Tammy above…if you have not already read “How the Soul Grows Through Loss” by Jerry Sittser, I highly recommend it. Mr. Sittser is an insightful, faithful man who dealt with untimely death in his family as well. This book does an amazing job of confronting the natural thoughts and fears that follow a loss (of any kind). But, true to his God, the author shows how to find His hope in the midst of it all. My prayers go out to you and your son.
A friend of mine sent me this. Two years ago today I buried my 48-year-old husband. He went to sleep and never woke up. I have no idea what happened to him. My son and I have been left without Dad, and minutes before I opened my email I was crying asking God was He ever going to get us out of this place where death left us. I needed this more than my friend will ever know.
We must all remember to forward these devotionals, we never know when someone is coming down to their last breath of hope in trusting God.
But, as this emailed devotional proves, God is always on time with what we need.
I agree with you Ann, this devotional came at the perfect time for me! Thank goodness we have a God who is in control. Now I have the encouragement I needed to keep trudging along having faith that He is there no matter what.
This is a wonderful devotional today. I have always had faith in GOD and He is the only being I can give my total trust to.
I hope and pray that more of my friends find Jesus and accepted him into their lives.
Thank you for this devotional, of course it comes just when I need it. I don’t know why things are going the way they are in my service, but God does and I am grateful.
Ann
What a wonderful God we have! No matter what life brings,
he is there for us . . . loving us, sustaing us through it,
helping us to grow through it, and filling us with his spirit and empowering us to continue. Praise God. Annie
