By Suzanne Benner

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth” (Psalm 46:10).

As I was meditating on this verse in the Psalms, God’s statement about Himself leaped out at me. God said, “I will be exalted.”

I was familiar with portions of the Bible that explain how my behavior could bring God glory.

“This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples” (John 15:8).

“In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31).

Gradually I saw my arrogance in assuming that bringing God glory was completely up to me.

The passage in Psalms clearly stated that God would be exalted regardless of me and my behavior. The realization dawned that God being glorified is not dependent on me.

God will be glorified on earth.

The question is, will we allow God to bring glory to Himself through us or will He do it without us?

We have been invited to be still, and in the silence, to recognize who God is.

We have been invited to join with all creation in making God known among the nations.

And yes, we have been invited to bring God glory and praise by living in such a way that brings Him honor.

Exalting God is not my responsibility; He will be exalted regardless of me. Yet, at the same time, what a wonderful privilege it is to be a small part of bringing God glory.

~Be exalted, O God, among the nations. Be exalted, O God, in all the earth!

Questions to Ponder and Discuss: Where have you seen God exalted this week? How does realizing God’s greatness and our own smallness improve the possibility of Him being exalted in our lives?

What a wonderful God we serve and I just want to thank him this morning for his hand on my life. I just want to praise him and tell him I am ready for whatever and wherever he sends us to minister in HIS name. The bible says if we don’t praise Him then the rocks will cry out. I want to exault him every day and in every way so the rocks do not have to cry out for me. Lord Jesus you are my life and I love you so much today. You are an AWESOME GOD and I cannot wait to spend eternity in heaven with you. I ask that you take any sin in my life and cover it with the blood of Jesus right now. Thank you for the day you blessed us with. Thank you for the roof over our heads, food for our table, a nice warm bed to sleep in, clothes to wear and a job to go to. We need not worry about a thing, you have it taken care of. We love you and are ready to serve you wherever you send us. Thank you again Father.

Spring time has always been the time when I am most AWED by the things GOD has created. The rebirth of life through the trees, flowers, and the grass. Listening to the Birds singing their songs of praise.
God is AWESOME all year round in everything HE creates but Springtime is the time I notice it the most. I am and always will be totally GRATEFUL TO GOD for the CREATIONS HE AS MADE.

I Have been looking forward to Spring so much and this week all I have to do is look outside to see God exalted. He is exalted with the beauty of the flowers starting to bloom and the birds building their nests and all of creation coming alive with springtime.. I love it. Thank you God for showing me that you are truly an awesome God.

This is so true – so many time we make it all about us. It is a privelage to be able to bring glory to the Lord – at the same time He will get glory with or without us. He doesn’t need us but I think it’s such an honor that he still allows to be part of His plans!

What a comfort it to me to be reminded that giving glory to God is not dependent on me. I have tried for so long to do it in my own strenght. It is absolutely futile & exsusting. Be exalted in & through me today LORD & all the days of my life, In Jesus mighty name!
