“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness” (2 Peter 1:3).
Pastor Ike witnesses a miracle every Sunday. It happens when he stands in his pulpit to preach. He spends almost every other minute of his life in a wheel chair.
You see Ike has broken his neck three times. Once in Viet Nam, another in an automobile accident. The third time occurred when an iron beam crushed him. The doctors said he’d never walk again.
But during his recovery, he prayed, “Lord, I’m Yours, for whatever I might still be good for. But please let me stand in the pulpit if I am to preach.”
God granted that prayer. And Pastor Ike praises God for getting his attention.
Dear friend, God wants your attention too! Read your Bible. Praise and thank Him for working in your life.

I thank GOD everyday Just to be able to keep going even with the pain I am in. FOR HE is to one keeping me going. I;d be just sitting around all day long if it wasn’t for HIM. BUT thanks To GOD I am able to get out and onto a bus to do the things I need to do.
What an inspiration ! Lord, help us each to thank God for guiding our lives in the midst of pain, suffering, and some-times seemingly endless struggles. Remind us moment by moment of your love for us and your presence with us through all of our sufferings and help us to look up for a smiley face and a concerned answer to our prayers. Annie
I wish I knew how I could be used of Him also…for years I have said, “Lord I don’t need to be a beautifully carved door, nor even the doorknob that opens the door of understanding your Glory. I will be content to be the tiny screws that hold the hinges that allow that door to swing properly. Just please allow me to be instrumental in helping others see you.” I guess I’m just too prone to human error because I see no fruit. I am greatful for people like Pastor Ike who can reach others…I don’t believe I need the attention I just need to know that others know Him because they have somehow seen Him in my life and would appreciate your prayers.
Each of us blessed to know HIM and have a spark of HIM in us ARE a “witness” to others! We humans all so flawed and imperfect..Some of us think we have to be “perfect” but, If we just let HIM shine through! And, we have to remember that we are all “being perfected”..EVERY day of this human walk…We are arriving, not arrived! And, if we can grasp that powerful concept? The Lord can use us…and, ,when we open these human lips.. let HIS Words flow out! We have to understand that as humans? We will never be worthy enough in the natural..But God bless those like Pastor Ike for showing others that we can all be used in some way, every day regardless of our personal burdens..Pastor Ike is a wonderful testimony of the Power and Glory of the Lord residing in a human shell! No matter how hard our personal walks are..and many of us going through so much…If we can just smile…revealing what we have in relationship with the Father? …Even the unsaved will be drawn and see the difference! …Some days? A smile might be the only encouragement someone receives..and, oh, how it turns a person’s day around..including US!!! The most beautiful smiles?..Sometimes when we are going through our own hardest challenges…The results can be Eternal for some who don’t yet know Precious Jesus!!!
This devotional reminded me that that I all too often forget to thank Him for working in my life…even if sometimes I don’t agree with the outcome…He is all knowlegeable and all loving and knows what is best for me far more than I do…When I read an ispiring story of someone who against all odds, still manages to remain faithful and trusting of God, it gives me hope..Hope that I myself will be able to face any obstacle with the knowledge that God will never give me more to handle than I can manage if in turn I will be patient, trusting, faithful and loving…not only towards Him but to everyone I meet along the way…
Thank you Lord for reminding me today that praising You is another way of remaining faithful and devoted …In Jesus’ name, Amen..
I am so grateful this morning for this devotional. It reminds me that this life is not about me, but what I can do for God.
Thankyou
