One day I stood in the kitchen, put my hands on my hips in mock frustration and said, "Somedays I feel as if I'm standing in the middle of a whirlwind." Our eldest son calmly looked at me, and quoted, "And having done all, stand." We laughed. Each time that scripture comes to mind, I remember that long ago day. The first word that come to mind is quite and tranquil. I often think that as a woman I am quick to chatter my way to discernment. I think if we would discipline ourselves to sit quietly before the thrown of God in contemplative prayer we would gather indescribable peace.
