“You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised” (Hebrews 10:36).
Little Margie sat in her wheelchair quietly playing with her doll. A neighbor stopped by and felt sorry for the child. She asked, “Margie, does it bother you to be in a wheelchair?”
Margie smiled and answered, “A little, but it’s all right. When Jesus comes, I’ll be able to walk and run. I’m just waiting for Him.”
Ah, dear friend, Margie is right! And her story is a reminder of the Bible verses that say, “When the way is rough, your patience has a chance to grow. So let it grow, and don’t try to squirm out of your problems… then you will be ready for anything, strong in character, full and complete.”
You may not be confined to a wheelchair, but your trouble is designed by God to make you better. Accept it… and be ready for anything!

thank you Fran.. (((HUGS)))
Eve,
You bless us all, too..Your “faith” shines through so beautifully at this trying time of waiting in your life..and your comments help the rest of us! We’ll all keep praying and “agreeing” and believing!
Fran, loved what you quoted from Corrie ten Boom from her book “Tramp For The Lord”: “When God forgives. He forgets. He buries our sins in the sea and puts a sign on the bank saying, “No Fishing Allowed”!
So often we go back and fish, then we dwell in it and not let go. It’s almost as if we don’t believe that God has truly forgiven us, and we try to do things to earn that forgiveness. We get trapped in our past and so can’t move into the future that God has for us.
Also thank you for your reminder of Mother Teresa’s words.. Don’t fear tomorrow!”He is already in our tomorrows”!!
Your words are like a personal message from God to me. It’s been tough and difficult again. I am afraid, but thank you dear Fran, you have just reminded me “NO MORE FISHING AND NO MORE FEAR OF TOMORROW! GOD IS THERE!” I have to look forward with thanksgiving and praise. He will hold me in His mighty hand. He will be my light and guide.
td i will be praying for you. God bless you.

TD, you have received some wise and compassionate words from your sisters-in-Christ today. Now it is up to you to accept God’s words for He cannot lie [Hebrews 6:18. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. [I John 1:9] You are already clean because of the word I [Jesus] have spoken to you. [John 15:3] Praise the Lord, O my soul and forget not all his benefits- who forgives ALL your sins and heals all your diseases, {Pslms 103:2-3} As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. [Psalms 103:12}TD, Recognize that in your forgiveness of your sin, God may be getting ready to birth a ministry through you to help others overcome the same sin. Satan will try to block God's plan by keeping you in false guilt. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. {James 4:7} God's word is final! I speak these scriptures to you ,TD, because they are the ones that allowed me to come out of my feelings of unworthiness to serve God. May you be blessed as you accept your forgiveness and the assignment of good works [Matthew 5:16] that God has planned for you. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Ladies,
First I apologize for the mispelled words, I got ahead of myself. Secondly, I went to mass today and I prayed hard and asked GOD to remove all the negative thoughts and to forgive me because I do believe in him. Last week I was cleaning out my email box and I came across the daily devotion from 7-2 (I think) I printed it and I have been reading it everytime I feel the devil is trying to have his way with me. The title was “Don’t Let Sin Reign” I wrote the sin down on a sheet of paper and I shreded it; it also instructed me to write…” I forgive You” I did that as well. I am praying, I know I have done wrong, yet I also know I love the LORD and he has done soo much for me. I can say today was a better day, the past 2 weeks have been a living nightmare. I am sorry for such a long post but I apprectiate all of the prayers and support! Please keep praying for me as I will for you all!
Dear TD..
Just read your heartfelt comments and the beautiful responses by Barb R and L.P.. and your sister’s wonderful advice, too.. HE is in control! And, once we’ve confessed our sins? We are washed by HIS beautiful blood..and become brand new..Picture those sins in the deepest part of the ocean now! The devil does his job and tries to replay those old tapes time and again..and keep a person in bondage. But, once we’ve yielded to our Lord? We are new creatures! The Lord IS forgiveness and love! Want to leave this thought from Corrie ten Boom from her book “Tramp For The Lord”: “When God forgives. He forgets. He buries our sins in the sea and puts a sign on the bank saying, “No Fishing Allowed”!
Lamentations 3:23-24 is for you and the rest of us today, too,.. once we’ve confessed our sins, we are starting afresh..brandnew and FORGIVEN..It is like a child’s plastic slate..remember those? You write on it, lift the page, and those writings disappear? When HE forgives, it is the same concept! Keep seeking Him and He will show you great and mighty things! Stay in His WORD..He will show you what HE thinks about you..and you are a treasure to Him! HE will use you in His Kingdom, too..Never forget St. Paul and the “Road to Damascus”..and powerful years after that!! Think of King David, “a man after God’s heart”! There are many other examples, but those come to mind this morning..Those were mighty men of God, but were flawed just as we all are..But, once forgiven, HE worked through their lives!! Yes, HE forgives (and Restores!!)..
Don’t fear tomorrow! Little Mother Teresa said it beautifully..”He is already in our tomorrows”!! AMEN. Praying for you and believing with and for you..Others reading here will, too!!! Bless You!!
TD- I, too have been in your shoes. Many years ago I fell into sin. When Jesus opened my blinded eyes to it, & set me free, I felt like a new born baby. But, then, after a time, satan began to torment me & tell me that the sin was to bad for God to forgive. It was horrible. I just cried out to God to help me to see myself through His eyes. The scripture says that God will take what satan meant for evil & use it for our good & His glory. I’m not certain of the address, but it is in Gen. I believe. I am praying for you that you too will see yourself through Jesus eyes of love & compasion.
For TD,
I know exactly what you are going through because I went trough it. I searched the Scriptures & kept asking God to give me something so I would know He had forgiven someone else (in the Bible) for as great a sin as I felt I had committed against Him (in my heart). I kept confessing the same sin, even though I knew, like you, that He is merciful. After a long time , one day, it was like He opened my eyes WIDE to see that Peter had DENIED Him ! I “knew” that, but it was the first time I understood that that’s what I had really done, too. That is ultimately what we are doing when we sin. I knew that He was showing me, that, just like Peter, when I repented, He forgave me, too. I can’t put it into words, but I felt like I had a new lease on life. I also realized through all of this, that if God forgives me, who do I think I am not to forgive myself, like I’m more “holy” than God? He showed me that there was somehow a subtle form of pride there. I wish I could express this more clearly, but I am just praying that God will somehow use this to bring you into freedom, for “If the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed”!(John 8:36) It is just the work of the devil to try to keep you in bondage to his lies. How do you go on? By accepting Jesus’ wonderful love & forgiveness, & falling more in love with Him because of it ! May God bless, bless, bless you!!!
I have been going through trils and turmoils after committing a sin, after confessing I am still having problesm forgiving myself, I have cried out and prayed to go, trying to be patient waiting on the answer, yet my sister told me tonight GOD is in control, I worry all the time, trying to predict the future and outcome; finally after reading I realize that it’s not for ome to determine. Ladies, please pray for me, it’s been real rough and hard, I hate the owd depressed but I feel as if I have falled into a deep depression. I can’t sleep because I can’t forgive myself, its affecting my whle body with mental pain. i believe in him and I know he lives and he is merciful. How do I go on?
what wonderful words and so true. you all said every thing i agree wit you.
god be with you

Maia,
We all love you and are blessed by your wisdom even at your young age! BELIEVING a PRAISE REPORT soon for you!!! Amen!!
Fran, June L, and Ann;
Thank you so much for your prayers, and your friendship..I cried when I read all three agreeing in prayer on my familys behalf. You guys are GREAT! (((HUGS)))
Me too Maia. In the mighty name of Jesus! Praise Him!
Maia, I touch and agree in prayer with the others for you in the mighty name of Jesus.Amen.
Agree with all the precious comments today. Nothing to say but what has already been said.
Maia, thanks for reminding me of how He has “waited” on me so many times. He deserves the same from me. PRAISE HIM!!
Precious Maia,
That earthen bank account may temporarily be empty..but your spiritual account is overflowing! Your love, concern for others, and sharing on here reveals a loving heart full of HIM! Just prayed for you and asked help from HIM from the north, south, east and west..that His Angels would gather exactly what you need. “Father God, thank you for Maia, and please bless her for her devotion to you..even in the midst of her struggles today..She sees your precious Hand in the situation. Help her, Abba Father..The waiting is so hard. Know you will be with her in special ways today and beyond..Praying Philippians 4:19 for her and her family that YOU will meet her needs out of your riches in Glory..and believing that with all my heart! Calling out Psalm 50:10 for her..that YOU own all the cattle on these 1,000 hills..and will meet her needs miraculously. She Praises and appreciates you, Father..Asking Humbly at your Throneroom this afternoon in Jesus’ name..Amen”!
Waiting on God…I know most of you ladies are in the same boat as our family we all have things that we pray about and maybe the answer hasn’t come, My check book is empty and my bills are stacking up our cell phones were cut off last week this is the only phone we have and My mind wants to panic, but all week God has spoke to my heart,”Your out of YOUR resources, and now is when you will be tested. Do you trust me?”
Now back to my first statement, waiting on God…the thought came to me as I was reading todays devotion, How long has God waited on me to trust him? I say Lord I trust you, but I still have gas money to get to work, I say Lord I trust you but I still have “things” but when the resources start to disapper–God is still beside me saying “Are you ready to really put all your trust in me?”
As humans we say I’m waiting on God where is the answer? How many times has he patiently waited on us? Lord, forgive me for not completly trusting, I’m so sorry, give me wisdom and thank you for all your blessing.
Out, enemy, in JESUS’ Name..It is Luke 18:27..and we stand on this for Chris this day..Nothing is impossible with our LORD!!! Hallelujah! Praying the Promises this day for Chris and others!!! Trusting YOU, JESUS!!!
Ann!!
You just described Psalm 46:10 and Isaiah 26:3 beautifully!! Hallelujah! It is the hardest thing in the world “to” wait! And, we women are action oriented. Even yesterday was late! But, you said it well! Keep our eyes (and minds) fashioned on Him. I “knit” when am frustrated!! It helps me stay busy when am waiting..If am able cook something for someone, or do anything to stay “busy and out of HIS way”..And, pray my heart out while those knitting needles click, too! Or am cooking or cleaning.. You are right, too! He is merciful and never forsakes us! If we “ask” like you suggested? He’ll “show” a way to wait.
Bea, you “are” honoring the Lord when you recognize his plan with your children (and you developing patience with them). I failed in the patience department sooo many times when mine were younger..But my patience was tested and strengthened..We’re all humans and HE understands and will help as you ask and He’ll make the next time better. The children notice, too! The consistent “love” you have for them speaks louder than anything else. And, as we’ve been sharing last few days..Love Disciplines, too!
Chris, am praying Isaiah 53:5 over your situation and asking HIM to manifest His Healing over your precious body..Believing HE will! Praying a miracle for you in JESUS’ Powerful name! It is never too late! “Lord Jesus, please touch and heal the pain Chris going through..Lord, she has so much to give and am asking a wheelchair won’t have to be used..She is prepared to accept whatever YOU decide in this situation..But we know that what is impossible with Man is more than possible with YOU (Luke 18:26) and NOTHING too hard for YOU (Jeremiah 32:17)..and we come humbly to the throneroom today and ask HEALING for Chris. Relieve her pain, Father, and make it possible to get around better in JESUS’ name”! Amen and AMEN ..Whatever HE decides, Chris, we will abide by..But had to ask. He has done miracles in my life and believing one for you! Love You!
Believing Good Weekend for us ALL!!!! (((((HUGS)))))
Many times the hardest task is waiting for the Lord. the questin is what do we do when we wait. Our eathly bodies as Fran so describes it so nicely all the time doesn’t want to wait or be patient. We will have a tendency of getting in the way of the plan The Lord has for us. I ask myself many times Lord what do I do while I wait? Pray, meditate on him, fast and see what directions does he has for me and some times I have notice he just wants me to mark time …just wait. It’s in our waiting that we don’t get ahead of God and put ourselves in it. Waiting can be very difficul at times, but if we keep our minds stay on him he will give us perfict peace and the solution. We all have to learn these lessons and even I have stepped ahead of him and took things into my own hands. What great lessons to learn is to be patient and wait on the Lord. He is so faithful and merciful and he will never leave us hanging.
This is a great devotional. As a lot of you ladies know I am in a great deal of pain due to arthritis from the shoulders down and have had it for years. I have been waiting for Jesus myself. On Monday Oct 1 I have an appointment to be assesed for a wheelchair myself. Though I have major trouble getting around on my own I thank GOD I am able to get around and a wheelchair will make it so much easier for me to do that.
The sentence that says ” when the way is rough then your patience has a chance to grow” instantly reminded me of my children’s misbehaving and how angry I get when their disobedience is over the same matters, be it not following directions, back talking, fighting with your brother or homework. What ever it is I always seem to be fussing at them over the same issues.
When I read this I saw an opportunity for my patience to grow as I deal with their behavior. God hasn’t caused them to disobey, but He can use it to help me grow. As I handle their behavior, do I honor Him?
Nancy!! You are growing in HIM “Leaps and Bounds”..Your words so good and “discerning”! Sandy, appreciated your thoughts, too! “Free will” certainly factors in..ours and others! It truly is a “fallen world”..But HE still gives us JOY, too…Nehemiah 8:10!
We all want the Gold that comes forth after testing..but the “refining” part hard to swallow for most of us..Sometimes? He teach us through children..like little Margie in today’s devotional..She was “..just waiting for HIM..”! Childlike faith a beautiful thing!
Barbara D’s comment yesterday about Philippians 4:13 helps so much..”I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me”!! It’s taken a long time to learn the beauty of that in my own life..But am so grateful HE finally got it across to me!! Am not alone in this journey..none of us are..And there’s a leader to our battles..2nd Chronicles 20:15.. AMEN
I do not believe God designes our troubles. We have a free will and in haveing that we sometimes bring on troubles, because we did not wait for God or we did not heed his advice. So therfore God disiplins us for that.
Some of our problems are because we live in a fallen world and we can’t avoid them. We can only pray for Gods strength to get us through.
Hi ladies, I think I got what the devotional says. We are to persevere in the ways of the Lord and our troubles will turn into joy. Because greater is he that is in me then he that is in the world. However I don’t believe God designed our troubles.( I don’t know if I understood that sentence right ) but I do believe that he puts us through trials to test us. That we still will trust in him no matter what. Lord help me to be strong in character, full and complete. I am trusting in you and waiting for your blessings. Amen
