Keep Going

**How do we keep going?  http://christianwomentoday.com/growth/oxygen.html

Have you ever found your faith to be in a dry spell and you’ve felt like giving up as a Christian? Sometimes we find ourselves in God’s waiting room and begin to believe He has abandoned us and we are tempted to abandon our faith.

God’s word addresses this very thing. Jesus’ death and resurrection cleared the way for you and me to come boldly into the throne room of God. We can come to  God with confidence  …not because we deserve to but because Jesus made it possible for us.  We are invited to draw near to God with full assurance that He is there… even when we don’t see or feel Him.

“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching” (Hebrews 10:23-25).

Don’t throw it all away!

Know with confidence that you are presentable to God because you are forgiven.

His blood has cleansed you from a guilty conscience.

? Resist the whispers that try to drag you into former guilt.

His word even says your body has been cleansed with pure water when you come to Him for His forgiveness. (Hebrews 10:22)  It is a new day!

Draw near to Him with faith that knows no hesitation in trusting God.

? Keep active in pursuing your walk with God.

Keep a firm grip on the promises of God and do not give up the faith. Find one promise He has given you. Write it out and put it where you will see it. Ask God to knead the truth of it into your heart like you knead flour into bread.

? Let others cheer you and challenge you in your walk with God.

Find people who will help you on your spiritual journey. Encourage someone else along the way. It will boost your own faith as you share with one another.

~Father God,
You know the tendency of my heart to stray. Help me to hold unswervingly to the hope You have given me in the past. Give me courage to seek out other believers to help me grow my faith. Help me to be determined to draw near to You with confidence that You are there and You will be my strength and my hope. Thank you for Your persistent call upon my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen

Questions: When you hear the whispers that try to drag you into former guilt, what is a good response? How do you “keep active in pursuing your walk with God”? How does knowing that you are a child of God help you with dealing with guilt feelings?

Ann you express everything so beautifuly. So glad you feel this way about this website……….we’ll all have to gather round now for LindaR’s husband and continue till the pain ceases.

Linda I was looking for an update and had hoped that your husband Terry would have been out of the worst pain by now…….but will continue to pray and hope for a better update tomorrow

Most gracious heavenly Father, You have invited us to come boldly before Your throne and lay our burdens at Your feet. You know the heaviness we carry tonight! We ask You, loving Father, to have mercy on Linda’s husband, Terry, that You would take his body, racked with pain from his surgery, and mend it. Lift this intense pain he’s experiencing, that he could rest peacefully. Soothe him with Your healing presence, I pray. Be with Linda, too, and encourage her spirit as she cares for Terry and attends his needs. May the morning come with clear signs of improvement! This, I pray, in Jesus’ most precious Name, Amen!

  • Linda R says:

Oh Marilyn Bless Your Heart & Praise The Lord!!! Marilyn about the time you were praying for me I was being guided over the phone by a nurse on
how to take out a wire that was put in Terry and connected to a cylinder full of a pain medication that was going directly into his incision. The nurse couldn’t make it too our house as we are having a Major Snow Storm which we never have in this part of British Columbia.
So Thank God for laying it on Marilyn’s heart to pray and thank you Marilyn for listening to the Holy Spirit and Praying for Terry & Me, I really, really appreciate it as I was able to do the procedure successfully. God Bless Each and Everyone of My Dear Glory Sisters Amen!

  • Marilyn says:

Praise Him!! For He, alone, is Worthy!! :D

  • Fran D. says:

You spoke “prophetically”, too, several times recently..He is bringing many here for HIS healing..These are “Divine appointments” Amen.
Believing for better day for Linda R’s Terry tomorrow..Many prayers going up.
And, dear Marilyn, You are so right!! “For HE Alone is worthy”..and that hymn is on my lips as this is typed. You are a precious blessing here, too!
Thank you, Lord, for all YOU are doing!!! AMEN!!

  • JoyB says:

Amen to Marilyn’s prayer for LindaR’s husband Terry!!

  • Ann Davis says:

Amen Fran, I am praying more than commenting too. Terry, I touch and agree with Marilyn on the beautiful prayer she gave for your husband in Jesus name Amen! When you don’t see a comment from me I too am praying. I want all the ladies to know I am only a tool being used and the glory and honor goes to the Lord. I thank him for the gift he has bestowed upon me and i take it so seriously.

  • Linda R says:

Good Morning Glory Girls, we all need to really be praying for Patti again, She has been having her blood pressure, pulse etc monitor from home as she has wires all over her, well last night the hospital phoned and wanted her to come in, I was just talking to her at the time it was about 10pm. This is a bit of what she just emailed me this morning:
Linda….didn’t get home until 5:00 a.m…..I’m tired. There was concern that I was by the time I got there last night, in the stroke range as per my bp and heart rate. More needles/IVs and constant monitoring until things settled down. The hospital is full…no rooms…so I’m back home again monitored from here. While I was there, my bp went up to 194/127..not good at all.

Please remember her in your prayers. Just to let you know Terry slept better last night, in the recliner, he is still extremely sore but I think just getting a bit of sleep will even help. Thanks you all very much & God Bless!

  • Marilyn says:

    Glorious Father,
We have been reminded this morning that ‘You Never Let Go!’ This is Your promise to us, to which we cling! You, Almghty God, are not captive to nature, or science, or the limited discoveries of man! We call upon You today, dear Lord, to guide Patti’s doctors in treating her blood pressure and it’s havoc on her body, knowing that You don’t need a hospital bed, or the medical equipment that doctor’s depend on, to mightily intercede on her behalf! We entrust Patti to Your divine care, Father, and we ask that You envelope her with Your presence and peace, as we wait on Your intervention! We pray this in Your most Holy Name, Amen!

  • Fran D. says:

Agreeing with Marilyn’s powerful prayer for Patti..Just read of the situation..and believe with all my heart, our Lord will touch, heal and protect! We speak to that elevated BP in Powerful name of Lord Jesus..it must lower… And Praising for answered prayer for Linda R’s Terry..Thank you, Linda for keeping us informed..We all love Patti in a short time!

Ann Davis, HE has shown your heart the same as mine! HE truly has gifted you and your love of HIM shows in every word..And? That HE gets all glory in your special life! As I pray each day? Think of you before the throneroom, too, beautiful lady! You are faithful and the Lord can depend on you for things HE has entrusted! Believing for your needs there, too!

  • Fran D. says:

    Ann Davis…

Wanted to share this quickly, too. Linda R “showed” me in her writings that we “must” continue being amongst the sisters here. The Lord “will” show a balance. Spending more time with my husband whose battling a mountain is self employment..So not as many comments, but Linda revealed without knowing it..that it is important to be among the rollcall here, too! And? HE did bring us all in here! And, new recruits arriving daily here, too! It is a precious, needed site and am more aware of that in past few days..than ever! But will still “check in” daily so can receive everyone’s wisdom and pray for requests..and will always, always PRAY…You leave your comments, too! You are cherished here and a special leader in His Kingdom! We need you, Prayer Warrior!!!!! (((Ann Davis)))

  • Linda R says:

Ladies Oh how I appreciate your Prayers, Terry would die if you I was saying this but I just gave him a bath etc and he is resting comfortable and he says his pain has definitely lessened Thank You Jesus! I do hate to be a complainer but I know any of you out there who have Fibromyalgia & or Rheumatoid Arthritis will understand my hands are just in so much pain from having to do things for him, like put on his socks, button his shirt, do exercises slowly with his arm and now I have to do all the carrying, lifting, I can’t open my pill bottles so I just have to leave the lids off. So what I’m asking is would you mind to pray for me that The Lord would give me the strength to be able to carry these chores out as this is going to be a long road to recovery & I can’t do it alone. Thank you all so very, very much.

  • Marilyn says:

    Dear Lord,
There has been a battle going on these past few days. Satan has seen the gathering of witnesses here, the exchange of love and encouragement, the collective prayers of Your daughters lifted, and hearts set afire with a passion for You! He has orchestrated an attack on us, Lord, using our wearied bodies against us, wreaking havoc in our families and shattering our sense of peace. Father in heaven, direct our steps to You! Remind us that You are our Shield, You are our Fortress! We praise You, as absolutely nothing escapes Your divine authority! Lead the battle, Father, and guard Your wounded from Satan’s continued attack. Set us on higher ground, where Your angels can nurse us back to health, spiritually, emotionally, and physically. And, Father, I ask that You intercede on Linda’s behalf, providing help with her care-giving of Terry. May You bring others to help share this temporary burden. And, we will give all praise and glory to You! In Your precious Name, Amen!

  • eve says:

Amen to all the prayers that have been lifted up! Our God is a good and gracious God. He will answer in His time and in His perfect plan for us. May our Father’s will be done.

For our dear sisters who are hurting physically..
May you feel the healing touch of our loving Father. May He guide the hands and minds of the caregivers and doctors, so they will be led to provide the appropriate care and treatments. May He grant you rest and a speedy recovery. Amen!

For our dear sisters who are hurting emotionally and mentally..
Our Father does not give us more than we can bear. Know that He is with us and carrying us always, shielding us in the shelter of His wings. Comfort Lord, those who are hurting, who have suffered a loss, who are tired and confused. May we be filled with Your love, peace and grace. May we have the patience to wait in joy and thanksgiving, for the revelation of Your almighty plan. Amen.

    For all of God’s children..
Thank you Lord for everything that You have blessed us with. May we continue to open our hearts and minds to You. May we heed the promptings of the Holy Spirit to walk in Your ways. May we stand firm in faith and not succumb to the temptations to walk in the ways of the world, even when we are going through the desert. Be with us as we continue our journey on earth towards You in heaven, our final home. Teach us to love as You have loved us. In Jesus most precious name we pray, Amen!

  • Nomnotho says:

“I, know a place, where I can always run to,in the shadow of his wings, I find relieve, for He will hold me and guide me, in the shadow of his wings I find relief. In the shadow of his wings I know I am safe”. I`m not sure where this song originated from but whenever I sing it I really feel the Lord`s comfort and love.

I began to sing this song as I was driving back from work this evening and thought of all the challenges I`m currently facing( financial, singleparenthood, loss of two dear ones, etc.) and also of some of the sisters going through physical pain due to ill health or illness in the family, some sisters having lost loved ones, etc. and I prayed to our Lord that whatever happens, we trust him and whatever path he leads us on, may His will be done and may we not lose whatever lesson it is that we have to learn, may we pass whatever test that he puts us through and even if at times we move from under his wings at least the shadow is still good enough for us.

I am also on a prayer chain praying with you my sisters that the Lord continues to bind us in prayer for strenght and purpose.

Stay Blessed and thank you very much for your support

  • Fran D. says:

Nomnotho…HE will bless you for your loving prayers out of your own challenges. Thank you so much for those faithful prayers! (((Nomnotho)))…. We lift you on high, too! Bless you, dear one!!!

  • Marilyn says:

Nomnotho, your prayer that “we not lose whatever lesson that we have to learn” is so beautiful and so true!! May we always be in God’s classroom during this life, and not fall asleep at our desks!! He is forever teaching us, molding us, pruning us, refining us! And when the bell rings, heaven begins! :)

  • Doris says:

Just reading through the requests and replies over the weekend. To Yvette, it’s wonderful to remember that He will never let us go, no matter what. I need to remind my self of that often as I go through periods of time when it seems as if every mean thing has come against me. Then I remember that nothing can touch me unless He wills it so, and thenit’s for my benefit, some discipline, some teaching that He wants me to have. Sometimes I feel as if the rug is pulled out from under me and I am forced to get back up and try again. Like Ann D. I know He is carrying me when I can’t go alone. Praise the Lord for seeing something in me that was worth redemption by my blessed kinsman-Redeemer.

  • ToniG says:

Nomnotho, Excellent! I just love the words and like Marilyn said, the prayer and sharing has been awesome. God, does remarkable things and bringing us together is another HUGE BLESSING! Doris, isn’t that the truth he allows it and yes, we find it painfull but than wow..now I know why he is God. His benefits and mercies are faitfull nuggets of love! Thank you Jesus..Love in Jesus..ToniG

  • Nomnotho says:
