Keep Going

**How do we keep going?  http://christianwomentoday.com/growth/oxygen.html

Have you ever found your faith to be in a dry spell and you’ve felt like giving up as a Christian? Sometimes we find ourselves in God’s waiting room and begin to believe He has abandoned us and we are tempted to abandon our faith.

God’s word addresses this very thing. Jesus’ death and resurrection cleared the way for you and me to come boldly into the throne room of God. We can come to  God with confidence  …not because we deserve to but because Jesus made it possible for us.  We are invited to draw near to God with full assurance that He is there… even when we don’t see or feel Him.

“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching” (Hebrews 10:23-25).

Don’t throw it all away!

Know with confidence that you are presentable to God because you are forgiven.

His blood has cleansed you from a guilty conscience.

? Resist the whispers that try to drag you into former guilt.

His word even says your body has been cleansed with pure water when you come to Him for His forgiveness. (Hebrews 10:22)  It is a new day!

Draw near to Him with faith that knows no hesitation in trusting God.

? Keep active in pursuing your walk with God.

Keep a firm grip on the promises of God and do not give up the faith. Find one promise He has given you. Write it out and put it where you will see it. Ask God to knead the truth of it into your heart like you knead flour into bread.

? Let others cheer you and challenge you in your walk with God.

Find people who will help you on your spiritual journey. Encourage someone else along the way. It will boost your own faith as you share with one another.

~Father God,
You know the tendency of my heart to stray. Help me to hold unswervingly to the hope You have given me in the past. Give me courage to seek out other believers to help me grow my faith. Help me to be determined to draw near to You with confidence that You are there and You will be my strength and my hope. Thank you for Your persistent call upon my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen

Questions: When you hear the whispers that try to drag you into former guilt, what is a good response? How do you “keep active in pursuing your walk with God”? How does knowing that you are a child of God help you with dealing with guilt feelings?

Anne I just have goosebumps all over me, talk about words jumping out of the computer, Thank you for allowing God to use you in this way to encourage each and everyone of us and for telling us that the Lord is between us and angels are circled all around us as we pray and lift each other up. May The Lord Richly Bless You & Continue To Use You For His Glory.
Just a quick update, Terry is home but basically the same. He is experiencing a lot of pain and said this morning if he had know it was going to be this painful he would never have had this surgery done. I would really appreciate it if you would continue to pray for him. Thank you all very, very much.

  • Marilyn says:

Ann, how filled with the Spirit you are!! Thank you for being a beautiful vessel from which His blessing pours out, that it soothes our wearied spirits and refreshes our souls! Trials pale in comparison to His goodness! Spirit fall afresh on us! Amen!

  • Ann Davis says:

The Lord spoke and said, ” this circle is a Special Forum of Women with much love and compassion in different walks of life. That we have the character and spirit of his disciple John…..Love and full of compassion and with the heart of Jesus. Great work and healing is being done. In this circle is every struggle in life one goes through and true love have been demostrated here. Many times I can actually feel the words and the prayers leap from the computer into my spirit that causes more strength and more love and the more to go even further with what I am going through. That all these beautiful women are desperate and sincere in every writings that they have written and shared. Sort of like the women with the issue of blood, running to just touch the hem of his garment. Knowing if I can just get to him….Jesus…I will be healed. In this circle of love the Lord’s hand is connected to each of us where we are in our lives here on this site. Just a metaphor for you to remember because the Lord left us many in the bible and I want you all to see what the Lord is showing me. When you feel down…just visualize the circle and the Lord between us and angels are circled all around us as we pray and lift each other up. How do I know that? Because, I am in this state. The Lord is going to do a great work in our lives and with our sharing. The Lord said,” ladies you have made God Most High your place of safety, and nothing bad will happen to you. No disaster will come to your home, and he has put his angels in charge of you. The will watch over you whereve you go. We have been given a Kinred spirit.

  • Marilyn says:

Oh, how I love to fellowship with my sisters in the faith at the feet of Jesus!! I praise Him for His goodness and healing mercies for Patti — may He continue what He started in her, bringing our dear sister Patti to complete restoration! I, with Ann, believe that He brought us to this place, knowing that we all needed refreshment in Him, comfort in Him, encouragment in Him, rest in Him, and felloweship in Him! Thank you, Jesus, for feeding us, for Your loving provision during these days! Amen!

  • Ann Davis says:

Praise the Lord for his many blessings and most of all for his healing power. I was unable to get on the site yesterday, but the spirit gave me to pray. I have created a list and I go down my list every day in case I can’t get to the computer. Please let’s keep this going and create a list also so we can not break what the Lord is doing here. “THIS IS WONDERFUL AND THE LORD IS IN THIS”. I don’t want to break the circle of prayer and love that has been sincerely manifested here by the Lord. To all the request that has gone before the Lord know that God is in the midst and that he hears our prayers. Healing will be done, chains will be broken, families will be restored, marriages will be healed, hearts will be restored and minds shall be renewed and addictions shall be gone in Jesus name. Amen! What an AWESOME ministry we have. God is good and what a wonderful circle of Glory Girls. CHOOSE to have a glorious week-end for the Lord is God and his mercy endureth forever and ever. AMEN!

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of my hand.

My father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of my Father;s hand John 10:27-29

I pray strength and health to all who are communicting and requesting prayer on this blog in Jesus name. Have a wonderful week-end and believe the report of the Lord. “AND IT SHALL BE”>

I just woke up and Praise the Lord!!! what good news about Patti. I’m glad you are feeling better Patti…I will be praying for your continued recovery and inprovement over the next days. Linda R thanks for keeping us updated on Patti and Terry. Will keep Terry in my prayers also during his recovery. My husband, Steve has had four back surgeries over the years and these things just take time and patience. I’m looking the the Lord to provide Terry with all he needs..Bless you all

  • Fran D. says:

    Linda R

PTL for Terry’s return home! We will all continue praying and lifting and you will soon see his pain recede! The Lord on duty for a special pair..YOUR bulletins about Patti’s progress put many minds at ease yesterday and last night..And you did this, faithfully, with your own situation there. The Lord “sees”, too, and is proud!! Bless you, sweet lady!

  • Fran D. says:

    Dearest Patti,

My Server here was out of order for awhile..and getting a late start today..But am Rejoicing and Praising the Lord over answered prayer for a precious servant in Oklahoma! Youre beautiful light is too bright to be extinguished and the Lord answered! We are so appreciative of Linda R who kept us posted and is a beloved friend to you!..Thank you so much for coming on today and lettig us “see” you!! That meant everything!! And? We thank our Lord Jesus for being with you and answering fervrent prayers for a precious daughter of His!! Want you to know this, too?!! HE have more plans for you! And? You will be here to experience complete Victory, too! Right this minute? We are all “praying in unity” for even better health than when this health attack came! “And the prayer of faith will save the sick man” James 5:15″… GREAT things are ahead in our Lord!! “(((Patti)))

    Precious ToniG…

Don’t you fret over a single typo (we all do them!!)..Your beautiful, kind, loving heart is all we see!!! A heart overflowing with His love and reaching out to others..HE has recruited you here for just such a time as this.. Please continue to let it spill out its contents and bless as He moves you to do that! You and Patti, both, are the resident Poets here at the Sisterhood..And HE is using your art form to bless! Patti was called here at this time, too! Never any “happenstance” with our Lord! Bless you kind Poet, ToniG, for all you are “teaching” the rest of us!

Joanne and Dottie..Prayers are going up for you and HE is closest when we “are” brokenhearted..HE gave me this for you today and it helped me during my times of earthen parting…”The Lord is close to brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit” Psalm 34:16. He will bring you through, at your pace, and in His perfect timing to a Psalm 30:5 moment and give “joy in the morning”..When these tragedies first happen? Our human hearts and eyes can’t even conceive it! But as he “journies” you through it all? HE will give peace and hope again..And faithful prayer warriors here will “hold you up” while you find your special way through it.

The emergency with Patti showed my heart to comment from time-to-time ..but know this?! Even when you don’t see me, prayers will be going straight UP!!! During our errands yesterday? My husband and I agreed and lifted many of you UP!!!

Before closing? HE just showed me this powerful verse and am going to share it: “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him” Psalm 37:7!

Truly love you ladies and esteem you and lift you this day!!

    Much Love :)

  • Linda R says:

Just want to let you know that I just brought Terry home from the Hospital, he really appreciates all of you praying for him, he is still in a tremendous amount of pain so I would really appreciate it If you wouldn’t mind to continue to pray for him. Thank you all so very much.

  • Joy says:

Dear Patti……… thanks for your wonderful words, they are so good to hear, to know that you are ok!!! I won’t say that you didn’t give us all a pretty big scare, however it is so great to know how wonderfully God works through prayer!! Praise the Lord for Patti and good health!!!!
    JoyB

  • Patti says:

Dearest Glory Girls..I am back home now and simply have no words for your prayers that I have just read…tears just flowed in realizing your faithfulness and love….your prayers. I Praise God for you girls and Him for hearing your prayers for me.

As I lay there with the nurses, etc., moving so quickly, I have to admit I was distracted from praying…until I saw my precious daughters eyes.

I have all kinds of wires and monitors I am wearing today, but I am thankful for the technology as I am being monitored here from home and have already been called to ask what I was doing at particular moment. I think I won’t climb upon any chair to reach anything more today, as the nurse there will be calling once again.

I am feeling well and wanted all of you to know. God must have some plan to use me still and I believe I have become very aware of that very thing today.

God is Good and He still answers prayers…..so thankful for you prayer warriors.

    Love to all of you……….Patti

  • Doris says:

Praise the Lord for His continued trustworthiness!! He has heard the cries of the ones who loved Patti and were holding her up to the Lord! What an awesome God we serve. He is always by our side by the power of the Paraclete who comes to walk alongside God’s children. We will only know in heaven how we’ve been healed, saved, spared, protected, redeemed from the pit, loved and cared for, by our wonderful and gracious Lord.

Chris, ToniG, Donna, Dottie, Fran, Joy, and all who are so faithful to life our concerns and believe that God not only cares, but that He wants to answer our greatest needs and desires. He longs to bind up the wounded among us and bring healing to the hurt areas in our lives. Glory Girls, give Him praise and glory!!

  • Linda R says:

Good Morning Glory Girls, I just got an email from Julie, Patti’s daughter and Patti spent the night in the ER but is much better and here is one paragraph from the email:

Her blood pressure dropped drastically last night and at the same time her pulse rate skyrocketed, however that is now all under control now. She appears to be fine now, speaking well and no problems with her limbs. It seems that there are no answers and she told me this morning that you Glory Girls have been praying and that is her answer. In fact, she said, “That’s my story and I’m sticking to it”.

So Girls What Can We Say But Praise The Lord!!! I am sure Patti will be on later today to let everyone know how she is feeling.God Bless and Have A Great Day!

  • toniG says:

  • toniG says:

Dearest Fran, Good Morning it is Friday morning here in Chicago. I just woke up and was reading the comments and scripture. May, Our Dear Lord, continue to bless your heart that is filled with love for him. Your powerful words of prayer have certainly been met here. I, feel like I am saying goodbye to Paul. We, will connect on-line as much as possible. I know you will be reading and praying which is most loving and powerfull action that is our only connection, on-line and off-line. Done with a passion in sincere love and faith.

I, have been rather new to the comment site my self as Patti. (bless her) and you have been a big part in all the lives by your taking precious time as you are always praying with each and every one of us. I, call you Blessed, and know that even when you are not writing I know you are praying. Somebody is Praying For You…Jesus..and your sisters of Glory. In her perfect will…Love ToniG

  • Marilyn says:

    Dear Dottie,
I am so very sorry about the loss of your dear mother! I, too, was so close to my mother, she was my hero. I wanted her to live forever, as I couldn’t imagine life without her. But, as she got older, I could see that life, as she knew it, was getting more challenging. She suffered from rheumatoid arthritis and congestive heart failure. My precious mother, who once had such sparkle in her eyes, was starting to show signs of weariness, and her sparkle was fading. God, in His infinite mercy, helped me to see this, and He helped me let her go. It broke my heart, but seeing her suffering became more painful, than sacrificing her over to God. This was 11 years ago. Donna is right, healing takes time, and it is personal. But, if your church has grief counseling available, may I encourage you to consider it? It is not there to rush anyone through their grief, but to support and comfort them through it. My heart aches for you, Dottie. Please know that I will be praying for you, as well. And, may the God of all hope, mend your broken heart, and bring you His peace!

  • Donna says:

Dearest Dottie, Loosing a loved one is so very hard. I know how you are feeling as my mother passed away last year also. We were very close and there are times when I miss her so much. I’m no expert Dottie but I think this is something that just takes time. Each of us will greive in a different way and there are no rules as to how long we should be grieving. You feel God’s presence in this and that is a good thing…keep trusting Him, he knows what it means to feel your pain and He wants to comfort you. I will be praying for you (((Dottie)))

  • Dottie says:

I need your prayers so very much. I just cannot get over the death of my Mom and it’s been over a year now. It seems things are getting worse instead of better. I’m still having terrible nightmares and I don’t go to the cemetery but once a month now but I just cannot accept the fact that my mother is no longer here. I have prayed and prayed and I know God listens and I know He stands beside me all through the days and nights because I can feel his presence. Just please pray for me.

  • yvette says:

    amen to all,good night…

Linda, I cannot imagine your pain, as you loss od a child is so profound that it is like trying to explain a color to someone who has never seen it. One phone call or word changes our lives forever.

Joanne, you are in a safe spot here as we come here as we lift each other in prayer. The Lord doesn’t take but receives his children. It is so easy to say until it happens to you. We are here to support, encourage and inspire during the biggest waiting room we will ever experience….Life itself. Once we are in heaven .. no clocks…no tears or fears. Until, then stay connected to a group of fine influential women. Lord, I pray for Joanne, and her heart of brokeness. Give her strength and peace as you are comforting her. Counsel, her mind in your path of rightousness and to know she will be received to your throne. Lord, we all need strength as we do not know what lies ahead however, Father…you all things..especially, the secret things that we keep asking WHY??? Lord, give us all patience as we WAIT. Your Divinity and Sovereignty, is why, you are ” Creator of all things, You Are King Of Kings..Saviour..and Father God, Holy Spirit..the Alpha and the Omega! We thank you again with grace-filled hearts. Love in Jesus, ToniG

    Dear Nomnotho,

You must hang in there, where else shall you go. Our circustance must not determine our faith, our faith must determine our outcome. We will never be removed from His grasp, and this world in NOT our home. Life is not fair, as you have experienced and read from these other women, my file is not what I would like and I do struggle with my faith at times and this site as well as my friendships have halped me get back on track. do you have someone to do a bible study with? Soemone that is stronge in their faith right now and know scripture? Being in Gods word is essential. Stay with the ONe who care and don’t look at your troubles as God’s turning away from you this could be His way to strengthen you. Only thru hardship do we grow. I hate that, but it is true.
    Sherry

  • Patti says:

Al you Glory Ladies…I need your pray……

  • Lusiana says:

I am in the dry spell right now, and I want to praise God for you all, dear sisters in Christ.

Thank you to all particularly Ann Davis’ testimony, that I was reminded that indeed it is when in we think we dont feel God is with us, that He is actually most closest to us – carrying us.

I have just gone through a spell where I thought I had been doing things for the Lord sincerely, but today I repented in knowing I had been sincerely wrong.

I am ever so grateful that I serve a God who is forgiving adn who is a God of restoration.

Please remember me in all your prayers.

  • JoyB says:

I know if God had not send many people to nudge me and pray for me, throughout my life I am sure I would have given up long ago!! God has been so good sending someone with a prayer or a message just when I needed it. It’s taken most of my 64 years to get to a place where I know I have hope in all things through Jesus!!! And I know this happened because God sent people and prayers my way!!!

Nomotho……….do not give up, our trials may last far longer than we would like, but if we are aware of the Love of God, He will in His time send all the help we need. I know that 6 months ago I would have said there is NO chance my husband will ever become a Christian, now I know it may never happen, but there is soooooooo much HOPE!!!! We always have hope…….but sometimes it gets lost in our trials……….we just have to listen carefully to the little things God sends us to nudge us to HOPE!!!

    Joy

  • Marilyn says:

Dear Nomnotho, do not be discouraged by your trials, that “things are not going your way.” God promised us that we, as Christians, would have troubles, that we all would share in Christ’s sufferings! The sweet difference in our struggles is that we have a HOPE that strengthens us to perservere through the trials that God has ordained for us. As a Christian, you are NEVER alone. God is with you whether you ‘feel’ His presence or not. He is there because He said He is there, and He cannot lie! Trust him for His promises, hold tight to them when you’re feeling uncertain. Ask God to align your heart that “your way” would become ‘His way’! And, when you seek ‘His way’, Nomnotho, you will find joy and the peace which transcends all understanding, even in the midst of your trials! May God bless you on your exciting journey of faith!! :)

    Update on my friend Bill:

I didn’t get to see Bill last night, I just missed him. He went out to dinner last night and had some soup and threw up. Then he tried to go to a meeting and threw up again, just after he got there, so he went home instead. I talked with his room mate and was told these things:

Bill is getting all the side effects that he didn’t want to get. He is getting weaker and weaker. He isn’t eating much. He is having nausea and throwing up. His mouth sores have gotten worse. His hair is thinning.

This past week, his pain has increased. He isn’t sleeping well because of it (he is mostly just dozing on and off around the clock). His narcotics have been increased, to begin this weekend. In addition to the pain he has had moving his bowels, the radiation has now caused inflammation that makes it very painful to urinate as well.

Bill should be going in for another round of chemo next week or the week after, and the Elder has not visited yet.

His room mate has said that it is OK for me to call. I hadn’t because I didn’t know how he was doing, and how he would feel about getting calls (i.e. was he very sick was, when was he sleeping, etc.), I am told that it is OK to call, if he isn’t up to talking, he just won’t answer.

Pretty soon he won’t be able to drive to his treatments anymore, and he is currently collecting names of people who can take him to these Monday-Friday appointments (he doesn’t want to put any one or two or three people out or a regular basis).

So this is where he is. Please keep praying for him, and Gabe, too.

In my experiences with the Lord is When I don’t seem to feel him near me is when he is actually carrying me and it has been my greatest hour and faith builder. It is all shaping us and building our faith where we can just trust the Lord in his word and what he say he will do. It will be an hour when all of this is going to be gone and we won’t have anyone to encourage us or strengthen us. We are going to have to believe the report of the Lord and I truly believe that hour is appraching us all very fast. The question is Do we really trust the Lord in what he say he will do?

    Hi Good people,

I will admit that at this stage my faith is very shaky due to things consistently “going wrong” in my life. But I must say that since joining this community as a means of seeking my Saviour, everyday the scripture addresses exactly how I feel at that moment which is a sign to me that even though I feel that he has left me because things have not gone my way, he really is with me and in me `cos how else would HE have known the exact words of encouragement I needed.

Please pray for me cos I need as much strenght as possible to keep going.

Thank you for being My Godd`s servants, for allowing him to use you all to nourish my soul

Good morning Ladies, I pray that the Lord continue to give us all the strength as we walk or enter into our dry places. Chris, I especially pray that his angels minister to you as you go through your challenges. One thing we all know is that the Lord, our Lord, the master of our souls, the Holy one is there with us in our dry spells and dry places and I’ve found him to do miraculous things in these difficult areas of our lives. Hold on ladies and allow the Lord to work for you in this tedious hours. Trust him, he will see you through.” When I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.” Micah 7:8

There have been so many times in the past 7-10 days while I haven’t been sleeping, due to the pressure build-up, that I have sometimes wondered why GOD didn’t help me or where HE was. But in my more relaxed moments I knew He was there with me. I just didn’t feel HIM with me during the bad times even though I knew he was there.

Father, this crucible I’m challenged with has left me isolated and abandoned, You know the motives of my heart, for it is Your desires I seek after, the gifts and talents and experiences of my life, mecry is the greatest, Father, I’m in need of restoration and healing, help me find fellowship among my brethren that will help me on this spiritual journey, as You’ve done before please provide me with opportunities to encourage someone else along the way, as Your word tells us, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds” Hebrew 10:24, I bless You and thank You, in the Holy Name of Jesus, amen, amen.

Good Morning Gail, Excellent choice of words and scripture. Your devotionals, on this web have helped me so much just sitting and being in prayer and counting it pure Joy to connect with women from around the world. We are , “The Glory Girls,” as we reflect our Father’s image and reveal his glory to all that seek! Welcome, if you are new and bring other’s to enjoy and experience the company of women of Influence!!

Dry spells and waiting rooms are such excellent examples of what we all sometimes feel. The more, I, mature in my faith , I think I am there and you guessed! The flesh walks in. The thoughts and desire of thirst for a cup of refreshment to feel like a wellspring in the middle of dry..unproductive..life are going to be there. However, when I feel this, I have learned not to be so hard on myself, but to turn it over to the Lord. I, like the woman at the well in a parched desert with sin..unfaithfull but our Jesus comes walking up to remind me or tell me he knows EVERYTHING, about me and I am Forgiven. THOUGHTS..THE WHISPERS, in the waiting room run and race as you want to know when it is your turn for the answered prayer like all your friends have. WHY LORD? Where are you? David, did so much of soul searching, as he always put everything into words that speak volume’s of whispers of help from his God of Israel as he faced and felt the ones of fear and rejection. I, know the Lord, loves us so much and he is faithfull and his perfect time for my Divine Appointment in that waiting room. The Divine Annointing, is alway’s there..just apply it as he commands us to. Our physician alway’s heals and soothes. His prescription, needs to be turned in and taken and let it indwell until it is our turn to return to him for eternity.

Glory!! to God in the Highest!! As he we experience his presence, no matter what the negative Whispers, may have us think. Take, this into captivity and put the Helmet of Salvation on. The Divine Helmet will Protect from words of negative, unproductive and I lost my salvation!!! Jesus, you paid our medical bill and we are now free of any debt or record of sin. Run in FAITH!!

Good Morning Glory Girls!! Jesus, we all thank you this morning, as we come to write and pen words from hearts that have been broken. You, are the heart surgeon who has repaired and will contnue to make sure we come together with you, as the Holy Spirit indwells within our inner chambers and their is where we meet.

We serve a mighty God and His Whisper in my heart is known by my actions………..Thank you and Love ToniG
