Vesuvius? A coal mine blast? A Fourth of July finale? Nope, only Sarah blowing her top again! She’s angry and she’s letting everybody know it.
When Sarah was a little kid, she discovered that temper tantrums helped her get her own way – sometimes. So she’s been using the “little kid” approach ever since and still gets results with it. In the face of her anger, other people give in to her. She wins arguments but loses friends too! (And others like her may lose husbands, wives, or other relatives).
The worst thing about our losing our tempers is the things we do and say when we lose them. “In your anger do not sin,” says Ephesians 4:26. The trouble is that usually we do sin when we’re angry, don’t we? Scripture in Ephesians 4 also warns against the use of bad language, bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, abusiveness, and all kinds of malice. (This list brings the Greek words originally used down to terms we are familiar with). When we lose our tempers, somehow one or more of these things pop out, don’t they?

PUTTING THE NEW SELF IN CONTROL
The longer we have had a bad habit, the harder it is to overcome. However, Ephesians 4:22-24 tells Christians to “put off the old self,” and “put on the new self.”
When we allow the Holy Spirit to control our actions, we put the “new self” in control and get the victory even over life – long habits. But as long as we allow the old self to control our actions, we may find it difficult to overcome such things as temper tantrums, bad language, smoking, drinking, complaining, faultfinding, and stretching the truth.
This advice was given to persons who have received Jesus Christ as their Savior and have the Holy Spirit in them. In order to have this “new self” in the first place, we have to make sure that we have truly received Christ. Some people may solve the anger problem by “counting to ten.” For a Christian, however, an even better method is to send up a quick call to the Lord to help you control that temper. When you begin feeling as if you’re going to make like Vesuvius, ask the Lord right then to help you to be like Jesus and control yourself.
Ask the Lord to help you forgive everyone who has ever hurt you. Then with His help proceed to do it. In this way you can be delivered from the deep – down anger in your soul that may pour out upon others at the least provocation. See Ephesians 4:32.
James 4:7 says, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Often things that make us angry are temptations from Satan. Whether temptation be from Satan or from our own worldly reaction, the solution is the same: “Come near to God, and he will come near to you” (James 4:8).
When we depend on God’s help, we gain victory over losing our tempers. Each victory draws us closer to gaining control over our tempers, our lips, and our actions. Christians who exhibit such control can be testimonies for Jesus Christ – and have much better relationships with other people!

And, we’d have some of the “miracle Biscotti” I made recently..I call it a “miracle” that I made it..The little Italian girl Gaida on Food Network said it was easy and I believed her..And lo and behold achieved it..But “prayed” along the way..That helped :) ..
Know I have an accent..but don’t think it is like the lady on Designing Women, though..Was raised in Northeast FL in a little town called Palatka, FL which is nestled next to the beautiful St. Johns River..And some of my relatives there and in Pensacola,FL, where I was born and lived my first years..did have accents..But our children don’t have one..So, am pretty sure that I “slip in and out of it”..June L has heard me on the phone and will have to tell you for me!! Fran has given me permission to tell you what she sounds like on the phone. A few years back I answered the phone at a local Hospital where I worked partime. A doctor’s wife said: “Is this Shirley?” I explained I was not Shirley. She said “Well you sound just like Shirley, sweet and Southern.” Guess what, Fran talks sweet and southern, and she is a “Divine woman”, inside and out, but you already know that!!

its just sharon. my sons wife has a drug and achol problem abig one and she has left him and there children several times but he always takes her back. she is with him right now and we are all praying that she will come to the Lord she says God can not help her she is to far gone, but we know that is not true. my son goes to church with the children every sunday with us and we just keep praying. sorry if this is to long but ladies racheal needs your prayers.

tonig what are you trying to say to me and what do you mean when you say pair? and what does o holy night love mean please i dont understand toni i work with the elderly and disabled and my client eddie needs prayer for financial HELP i did everything i could do today because he is without heat and hot water. i tried to get him some help at a DAOC center here in town with his gas bill they sent the gas company out and he has 3 leaks in his pipes so now they had to turn his gas off and no one any where has the money to help him PLEASE GOD HEAR MY CRY send your angels to warm his home may they wrap there arms together and shelter his home. lord protect him and please let the help come from somewhere jesus here my plea and lord protect my child rebecca and angies child ragon help all the little children young and old. i know you will be comming to take your home and people back but for now i say thank you jesus for dying for me a sinner and god bless you for doing your best. so my friends please lets pray for this nation and its people in it to do good and be kind to one another and love for all. please pray for my friend eddie GOD be with you all love carla

Carla, I heard a song that was on the Presidential Prayer CD a few years ago. It was on prayer and intercession. Yes, someone, is praying for you…all of us..and that includes you but most of all our intercesor, “JESUS.” The song just went on when I kept reading your requests.
Carla, I do apologize, and yes…someone..everyone is praying mighty prayers…sometimes when you don’t see typewritten ones as there are others that do not comment but are praying. That is what I love about this sight. The seen and unseen prayer just like our faith in Jesus to take him at his word when we can’t physically see him.
Carla, once again thank you for pointing this out to me and a need to clarify. Oh, Holy Night..is my praise song that announces the birth of the King of Kings that praises his arrival for a long awaited promise of a savior. When I first became a Christian in 1990..that Christmas Song changed for me as my spiritual eyes and ears heard the proclamation of a Saviour on that..Holy Night when Christ was born.
I, count it pure blessing to take part in lifting you up and your famiy and friends in the gift of prayer. Sometimes, we are so overwhelmed when going throuh a fire..we have no words..that is when the unseen power of Jesus and his wisdom to allow these things to pass and we join in with him and pray as he does for all of us when there are no words for the deep grief we are in.

Carla, I was sleeping most of my day due to my fibromyalgia and arthritis. It is late and I looked at the news for the weatherforecast. I do not know where you live but I can certainly tell you it is really going to get colder here in the Midwest. My deep prayers for the ice and cold storm that is approaching has already cut-off so many people here with no power.
Lord, I just come along side of Carla for her friend again as he faces power of heat.electricity..and this is to be cast out in your name Jesus. Carla and I want to pray for not onl him but the many that are facing the same problems. Lord, put your hand upon all this weather and let your Holy Power warm the flesh and hearts of many us who may be without. Take this Lord and please help all of us. I can tell in Carla’s prayer request she loves with a heartfelt concern and love for someone who is facing broken gas pipes and no money to repair. I present with my siter Carla…this request be filled by you source of power and to direct the gas company and electric company to get there and repair or replace the source of heat.
Carla, I will continue to pray as our heat was out..off/on last week and is still giving us problms. That is why my artrritis and fibro is hurting so much more. Jesus, did provide and I do have heat but the briskness of the wind is felt through windows. We have to really bundle up. You are loved for your compassion and Lord will answer in his way not ours.

Fran, Your words are a gift. I have to keep unwrapping each gift of encouragememt. Paula Dean and Giada Dilaurentis….are my cooking inspirations. If of any of you want a cookbook…now I made and bound this together at office Max…..Sure it may have typo’s but it was from the heart all 675 books of them.
I made an Italian cookbook…because we’re all Italian with photos,history of my family and the best OLD recipes some from the Old Country which is now one of the most desired place of Travel, Italy. See Me! I came up with this idea as I did this for my daughter-in-law for wedding shower as she was swedish, etc and wanted my family pizzelle and anise cookie recipes. Everyone received homemade coookbook with photos.
I was thinking when I put it together how much love when into it. However, behind the scenes there was a lot of anger on one families part. The Lord helped me as I did this on pure prayer. The Subject, is fitting for our topic. My sister, promised to type all the stories and recipes as a return favor she said wold be no problem as she also has a binding machine that hold mauals together. I came off my trip and there was nothing for a showerthat was like 4 days away. Crushed beyond belief. I went and typed she did a few and then…gluing/taping and designing. In my anger I hit the ceiling like a huge wind of turbulence went by. Unexpected expectationa and more broken promises.
I finally ended up in prayer…with anger…and Lo and B’Hold I went to office Max and yes……..$675.00 for binding and the amount of copies I needed was the cheapest. Now more anger came in as they could not come through again for the final binding and had to make a decision not to dissappoint my son. With tears,tissue and total bill I was not able to enjoy a time so special. I let the enemy rob me because of money and a broken promise.
I did let go after it was over and now 4 years later I still have people wanting them. However, my grammar and puctuation need to be proofread. I ask for that to be done in Jesus name. The cookbook that stirred the pot with anger and sin that lead to repentance. After this my sister was so ashamed, as she like me softies…broke down and we apologized.
Sin and anger are the thief who like in the middle of the dark if night almost devoured us. Now for 3 years her husband will not let her participate with our family. Anger and sin have chewed my family apart. I still believe in miracles like Frans biscotti. You ladies are divinely praying and God see’s the hearts.

Toni…..thanks for sharing your cookbook story, I know all to well just how these rifts can happen so easily in family and in friendship, I remember growing up (my family was very “churched”) one day one of their friends in the church would be terrible, a few days later they would be fine and someone else would be terrible… and on it went……..we lived in an adult gated community for 3 years, we got to be pretty good friends with our next door neighbours who weren’t really well liked…..when I decided I had enough of cranky people…….some of the things that were said and done to our neighbours were really very thoughtless. When we moved (to a town 2 1/2 hours away) our neighbours were still very friendly to us………..then after a few weeks they didn’t speak at all. It really hurt me as I had stood up for them so much………then I found out that someone in the “community” had told them that we had moved because we didn’t like them………this really upset me because these wonderful neighbours had put themselves out for us BIG TIME……..one of the things was looking after our house while we went on a 3 month cross country trip and they would take nothing for it……..2 years ago our pastor asked every one in our Bible Study if we could think of someone we would like to be reconciled with, and we would all pray weekly at Bible Study……..I mentioned these people…..one year later……..we drove to their town and took them to lunch and now see them at least 3 times a year. It is so easy for this to happen…….but it takes mountains of prayer to repair it!!

Hello Dear Ladies..
Am lifting and thinking of you all and appreciate all the kind comments. Our daughter had to have emergency surgery in the early hour mornings today..But is O.K. and already back home with her family for which we Praise our Lord! Our son here and we have been a family encouraging one another throught this unexpected event. As we hugged and kissed her goodbye once she was in her room and settled..She thanked us for being there for her..and our son took her daughters, his nieces, on to a planned event last night..so her husband could be at the hospital overnight. She said she was so grateful for “family”..And we are blessed here at Truth Media, too! Where a “family of believers” hold one another up daily!
Sharon, we know it is “never too late” and it is the enemy causing those words through Racheal, but she is a part of a special family in you and yours, too!..The Miracle will yet unfold, too! (You are also a very special woman, hope you know that!!).

Thank you for the beautiful prayer ..the Lord works in such Mysterious Ways, too..Our daughter a hardworking, giving girl..And we are so proud of the way she went through this sudden need for surgery. She told us over and over how much she loved and appreciated us all..And we feel that way about her, too. What struck me? The wonderful Mom she is to her girls..Her caring and concern for them..And while she “was” scared going into her first surgery of her life? She reassured those daughters..that she’d be o.k. and to “not worry”! There were a lot of “love you’s” and hugs!! And this will please you?! Before we dashed out the door to join her yesterday? We brought a tin of of those “Miracle Biscotti” for our Miracle girl! Thirty-two years ago when we held her in our arms? We knew we’d witnessed a miracle from Him!! She wasn’t able to eat or drink all day as she was an “add on surgery”..And, they’d first thought it’d be very quick..But other surgeries scheduled took longer than expected..But hers was one that “had” to be done!..And? I was so touched by her young husband..a “son-by-love” who had gathered a favorite soda and salad in readdiness for when she “could” eat again. And was going to get coffee for her to sample that Biscotti, too! The Lord used this in a mighty way and we all came away knowing He’d been with us..The surgery could have ended much worse..and she’d been told the “worst case scenario”..But we rebuked that and HE was with us..And everything ended up O.K. for which we Praise His Mighty Name this night!! Thank you, dear friend..for YOUR loving, caring ways and prayers! May He Bless you in miraculous ways this special season, too..You are sooo deserving!! (((ToniG)))

thank you for the wonderful prayer for racheal. we had another problem yesterday. she did not get my grandson up for school again and did not call the school to tell them why he was not there i am so afraid they are going to send some one to the house asking questions. i tryed to talk to my son about it he did not even know she had brought the children to our house as he was at work i do not know if she even went to work early like she said she was as she has lied to us before about where she was at. please keep praying for her

Help us to get rid of that anxious and fearfull walking on eggshell feeling. That is not you and then we obsess and ruin our health and day that was meant to be joy full in you. Lord, please help Carla as she is trying so hard to please Hilary because she loves her. Lord, let Hilary see Carla’s love and brokeness and apologize and ask for forgiveness on both ends. i fell like i am walking on eggshells around my daughterinlaw and i am getting very tired of it please pray for me to have pacance.
