Walk in the Way

**How has the life of Jesus impacted you? http://thelife.com/study/whoisjesus.html

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland” (Isaiah 43:18-19).

Israel was mired in sin, stuck in a pattern of disobedience and unfaithfulness to God, yet God did not forget them. Through the prophet Isaiah He was calling them back, urging them to forget the errors of the past and begin anew.

“And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not journey on it; it will be for those who walk in that Way; wicked fools will not go about on it” (Isaiah 35:8).

The opportunity to walk in the Way is not just offered in January, at the start of a new year, or on Sunday, the start of a new week, but every day and every moment of every day, God holds out his hands to us and says, “Here is the Way – walk in it.”

He has provided a way in the wasteland of your life. He has built a road for the faithful to walk. Sins forgiven, a second chance and future hope are the gifts God offers us.

When we choose to accept God’s forgiveness, we become the redeemed – those God has ransomed from sin. He paid the price to give us an eternal hope that can never be taken away.

“… But only the redeemed will walk there, and the ransomed of the LORD will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away” (Isaiah 35:9, 10).

~Thank you, God, for redeeming me. I want to walk in the Way of Holiness. Show me Your Way, O Lord. Help me to take up my cross and follow you.

    Carla needing help,
In this difficult situation it may be a good idea to speak with a counselor or a doctor for yourself and for your mom.

Sounds like your mom is being kind and loving to help him get on his feet and he is not doing much to help himself. Sounds like with the lying to your mom he is manipulating her to get what he wants. If your cousin were out on his own, forced to sort out his own life maybe that would help him more in the long run? Perhaps your mom is taking responsibility for his life, rather he needs to take responsibility for his own life. Sometimes as Christians we do too much for another person making difficult situations worse. It is not easy to deal with a person like this.
Some people can only be helped with tough love.

Sounds like you are angry too, and have every right to be as you watch him mistreat your mom.

I pray that God will enable and equip your mom and yourself, and strengthen you with Godly wisdom, direct your steps and decisions in handling your cousin. That God will heal the hurts caused by your cousin. That God will make a way for your cousin to meet with Jesus Christ.

This is a long journey it would seem, may God be with you all.
    Shalom.

As I sat here and read all the input from you sisters in the Lord, I felt like all the troubles I have are just wisps in the wind. May the Lord truly bless each of you as you walk one step at a time with Him. Every thought and need I had was addressed in one form or another by your prayers and encouraging comments. I know that I need to keep my eyes on Him and walk with Him even when I don’t understand or feel like He’s with me. Of course that means that I need to be more in the Word but it also means that I haven’t stopped to really listen to His direction for me. I am without a job and I don’t want to lose our house but I know that those are just earthly things and my focus needs to be on Him. It’s not about me…. it’s all about Him. Truly may God bless each one of you in your walks with the Lord.

  • nancy says:

Praise the Lord. We don’t have to dwell on our past sins. And thank the Lord that he remembers them no more. I am so thankful that God is a loving and forgiving God and doesn’t forget us and is there all the time to help us when we make mistakes. He was there for the people in the past even though they were disobedient and he is here today for us. Oh Lord teach us to know your ways. Put your words in our mouths when we testify to others. Help our unsaved loved ones, friends and thous who we come in contact with each day before it is eternally to late. Bind the power of the enemy. Help us to put on the whole armour of God to withstand the fiery darts of Satan each day. In Jesus name amen.

  • Patti49 says:

    Oh Shirley,

I have never been prayed over like that! As I read you praying over Sharon and I, my body went weak and my legs are still like jello. Emotion swept over me as my head became light and tears flowed.

Thank you for praying for us like that. The Lord has been so up close and personal that last few days. I have felt His presence and my heart is being remolded. I have no doubt He is getting me ready to step out and do something.

Shirley, God bless you for you boldness and thank you.

  • sharonb says:

    THANK YOU PATTI 49
    SHARON B

  • Shirley says:

thanks for today’s devotional. Thank God for his great and
abundant grace toward us, that allows us to start new and
afresh with him everyday. New are the mercies of God every
day and he is faithful to those he call into fellowship
with his son ,Jesus. There is power in pray, so we can use
that power to pray for whatever the needs are. So, in the
name of Jesus, we sisters in Christ touch, ask, and agree,
for a good report concerning Sharon and Patti test results.
We sisters in Jesus name take authority over the spirit of
cancer and render it powerless and ineffective concerning
Sharon and Patti, we decree healing from you wil be released
right now in their entire body and cause it to be whole. we
sister also bind the spirit of unforgiveness, bitterness,
angry, resentment, rebellion, and all other related spirits
that try to influence our sister Sandy in any way. We decree
that peace, forgiveness, love and obedience is being mani-
fested to Sandy right now. Father you said as believers one
can put a thousand to flight, and two can put ten thousands
to flight. What new thing I see God is doing in my life?
Since my husband been off work due to an injury, and now
is recovering from surgery, we have a lot more time to be
with one another. My husband has always been a workaholic
we seldom had time to spend with each other. Now that he is
laid up, I have put a lot of things on hold for a while, ex-
cept my job. I have taken off to drive him and be with him
from him having surgery to all his recheck doctor appointments. since the injury was a leg injury, I have been
his hands and feet aroun the house. God has really allowed
us to see just how important our relationsihip is and that
our first ministry does began at home. Well to sum this all
up concerning my answer to the the question is this; God is
doing something new with some relationships in my life.
Sisters in Christ may God do a new and a marvelous thing
in your lives this year! Have a joyful day in the Lord.

  • Patti49 says:

    Dear Sharon,

We will continue to pray and believe for you. I’ve been reminded so many times, that “whatever” happens in our lives, He will go thru it with us. I posted these words a while back….but am going to post them again…as I need to look at them too!

When I saw what lay before me,
Lord, I cried, What will You do?
I thought He would just remove it
But He gently led me through..

    Without fire, there’s no refining..
    Without pain, no relief..
    Without flood, there’s no rescue..
    Without testing, no belief..

    Through the fire
    Through the flood
    Through the waters
    Through the blood

Through the dry and barren places..
Through life’s dense and maddening mazes..
Through the pain and through the glory
Through will always tell the story

    ABBA GOD!

    Whose power and mercy
Will not fail to take us through.

  • Christina Y says:

To walk in the way is a life long process and God never said it would be easy. But I do notice when I walk in the way the issues don’t seem as overwhelming as when I try to do it in my own strength.

I thank God for sending his son so that I can walk in his ways. Thank You Jesus

  • sandy says:

Thank you Suzanne for you devotional. I have been struggling with forgiveness lately and I feel guilty because I know that I should forgive, i have forgiven in the past, but things just keep coming back.

  • Bonnie says:

Good Morning Girls. I am so touched by the notes from both Patti and Sharon. May God surround you both with His great arms of Love. Cancer is such an evil thing but we do know He has promised to never leave us or forsake us. It is in some of the darkest times, we can serve Him best. When I look around myself and see the pain others are going through, I know I have yet a job to do. I know that, then, I have something I can share with the ones who are hurting. So it will be with you both. God has a plan even when we think it is dark. There is always someone who needs His love and hope and we am the ones elected to share because of what we are going through. Others hear when they are aware you truly understand and are walking in pain also.

My Lord Jesus, How beautiful You are in Your ways. When we do not understand, You are there to lead us through. What a blessing to know that in spite of the problem there is always someone You lead to us that needs Your love and care. May You be so near to those like Sharon and Patti. Lord, help us all to be ready to share, in our pain, with the one who comes for hope. We are so grateful for Your love. Thank you also Father, for a place like this where one can share their heart freely, and encourage and pray for each others needs. In the precious name of Jesus we pray. amen

  • sharonb says:

PATTI THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS I HAVE BEEN PRAYING FOR YOU TOO AND WILL KEEP ON PRAYING. YOUR WORDS SO HELPED ME THIS MORNING. I WILL BE LEAVING IN A FEW MINUTES FOR THE XRAYS.DIANNE PTL FOR DAVIDS RECOVERY.
    SHARON B

  • Dianne says:

Hi ladies :-}. Off topic praise report: David is alive, awake, eating, talking, joking, and reading crawlers on TV at the Cleveland Clinic! They got him aroused and off the ventilator within 3 hours of his getting there!

I know this sounds unbelievable, but this is the third time David has died and has been brought back in his 57 years of life! I knew about one other time besides this one, but his mom told me last night that there had been one other time before that other one, too!

We will be going to visit him this afternoon. If there is anything new, or more, I’ll let you all know :-}.

And Bill came to Celebrate Recovery last night, and apparently enjoyed it, too :-}.

  • Patti says:

Dear Sharon, we will all pray that this cancer will not come back. God is going to use you either way tho….maybe in a new and different way.

I to am facing uncertainty this week as well, but as I have approached this time, it has allowed me the time to get my heart right. Sometimes, with me, I believe, God has to allow something in my life, to get my attention…to get me to a quiet place where I will evaluate my life and think on Him, try to be quiet and listen for His voice.

I have been asking Him “Why are you allowing this to happen to me now”, but as the days and hours have passed, I have felt Him very near me…ministering to me and giving me peace. I think of the price He paid for my sins and the world’s sins, What an overwhelming emotion sweeps over me to think of the suffering.

Many of you have been praying for me and I thank you. I have felt bathed in prayer.

I must tell you that at this point, I want to be used to bring Glory to God. Whether I get a bad result from this biopsy or good news, I will still be able to praise Him and encourage others. There is the one thing I believe God has been prodding me to do….to get out and help someone, make them smile…do something for them that gives them joy and that is what I am going to do.

I’m going to venture out into something I have not done before…that will bring smiles of joy to many faces….and may they know the smile and talent I share comes from Him.

Jesus, I thank you for these times. I thank you that we can start anew each day, and I thank you for the opportunity that is before me. Lord, I am making my plans, believing I will be able to fullfil these plans..for as long as you want me there.

Thank you for loving me, for saving me and for bringing some dear ladies here..into my life, walking beside me and lifting me up in prayer, faithfully. I am yours, Lord. Show me my path and I will step out in faith and begin my new journey.

    Amen
