Rejoice in my name

Do an online study of the character of God http://thelife.com/study/charactergod.html

Recently I‘ve been studying the names of God from a wonderful document John’s cousin compiled with her friend over several years of research. It is a deep well of riches and I want to share it with you in the form of prayers during this next while. The first part of the document of names can be found at
http://truthmedia.com/training/attributes_god/

Psalm 89: 15-17 expresses the thought that God’s strength becomes our glory as we rejoice in His name all day long. It seems logical to explore the depth of this name…  so come along with me and let’s do it together.

“Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, O LORD. They rejoice in your name all day long; they exult in your righteousness. For you are their glory and strength…”

Name 1

I am that I am, Yahweh, The Lord, Jehovah who is there for You today.

Dear Father in Heaven,

Today I thank you that You are the Self-Existent, manifested, revealed God; the God of all Heaven and Earth.

I thank you that You make Yourself known to us. Today, Lord, I ask that You would make Yourself known to me in a very specific, new and very real way. Reveal to me Your heart, O God. Reveal to me Your shield of protection around me. May any darts that are being hurled at me from the enemy of my soul today be deflected by You, my great God who is over all, and in all and through all things.

Thank you that there is no power on heaven or earth that is stronger than our God.

Encase me in Your presence and in Your holiness. Let me feel the shelter and protection of Your wings today as You wrap me in Your love. Give me hope and assurance of Your power at work on my behalf.

Give me confidence today that Yahweh, The Lord, Jehovah, the great “I am” is standing with me and over me this day. Wow! What a picture. I will walk in that confidence today.

in the name of Jesus I pray, amen.

Questions: Are you interested in exploring these names with me in the form of prayers to make them applicable to our lives?

yea firey darts thrown at my soul that is going to heaven anyways

  • This look at the attributes of God reminds me that I need to constantly realize that there are so many things about God that I do not understand or look for in my walk with Him. I think this would be a wonderful study and awakening to God.

    Lord God Almighty,

Thank you that You truly are the God who is there for us today. I feel Your Spirit nudging me to keep Chris covered in prayer right now. Thank you that You are standing with us… You are standing with Chris. Lord, please wrap Chris in Your love today in such a way that she will feel the warmth of it in her physical body. Provide any need she has today, whatever it is, and surprise her with a demonstration of Your care. Thank you for her steady example of trusting You. Cover her right now with Your peace and with relief from any pain she might have today. Thank you for Chris, Lord. Give her fresh amazement at some unexpected blessing today as You sing over her.

We love You, LORD, and we worship You together today. In the strong name of Jesus I pray, amen.

Yes, I would like to continue exploring the names of God.
I feel secure and cherished when I think how he covers us with his wings close to his heart.

Yes! definitely. I am VERY interested in studying the various names of God in the form of prayers to make it aplicable to my life. What a wonderful study it will be. Jesus split the curtain as our sacrificial Lamb of God, but I feel this study will help me open the “curtain” in a manner of speaking to the area where only the high priest could go—in knowing the personalities of God. It will help me to understand and learn more about God. He is accessible through Jesus, but, yet, there is so much unknown about Him. He spoke to Abraham and Moses and led the Israelites in the desert as a covering of Fog for them to follow. During Jesus’ ministry here on earth and after he rose, he was tangible, touching and healing people. He said the lady’s faith was so great His power went out as she touched the bottom of His cloak. I want to know more. I desire to learn more. . . . to have faith that is strong and understanding . . . . to know the many aspects of God and how to pray using His different names.

    Thank you, Gail.

  • Nancy O'Bosky says:

Gail, thanks for beginning this study of the names of God. Knowing and understanding them is sure to deepen our knowledge of our Lord. And..in deepending our comprehension of who He is, we’ll get to know His character more. I pray that as we do this, we will allow Him to minister to our depths in His great power and that we will trust that He is the great I Am, the One and only true God! As we apply this new information to our soul and spirit may we allow God to transform us by it more and more into His image and likeness.

Thanks Gail for always pressing me further in my walk and relationship with God.

I am interested. I have no clue about how to “[explore] …names…in the form of prayers…” I know the names of God are descriptions of God, and therefore reveal His character, though :-}.

  • jackie says:

Carla; I will be praying for those without power.

  • Gail says:

    Heavenly Father,

You are the God of all Heaven and Earth and we praise You that You are there to help and strengthen us. We pray for the people in Carla’s areas today as they experience this power outage. Lord, we ask that You would lead help to the very old and the very young who might be unable to help themselves. Spread compassion and love throughout these communities as people reach out to help and comfort one another. Grant the workers wisdom as to how to fix the problem. Give them strength to get the job done. Lord, give strength and courage to this community and help them to reach out to one another in ways they never have. Use this difficult experience to connect people with one another in ways that would never happen on an ordinary day. Give Carla the words of encouragement that she needs today and bless her as she shares encouragement with those around her. May Your Spirit guide her and all Your children there as to what to say and do this day. In the strong name of Jesus we pray, men.

    Take care, Carla.

    Warmly,
    Gail Rodgers
