But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
Do you sometimes feel like you’ve got more than you can handle? Like you’re stuck in a tunnel with no end in sight? The demands and the stresses of life can easily overwhelm any of us, but they are no match for the risen Son of God. When we go to him we have enough to get us through.
Corrie ten Boem incarcerated in a prison camp suffered all kinds of atrocities. She watched her sister die. Her father also died. By a fluke she was released from prison and became a tramp for the Lord. She, who had experienced God’s love in the pit of human depravity, asked, "How do you know God is enough unless you get into a situation where you have nothing left but God?"
As a private duty nurse, I saw, firsthand, how God’s strength is enough even at a death bed.
Florence was coaxing her beloved husband who was in the last stages of cancer, to take a drink of the fruit egg nog she had prepared for him. But being unconscious, he couldn’t drink. Seeing her so distraught, I wondered what can I do to bring some comfort? Suddenly I remembered what she had told me on the previous day, "When Paul was well," she had said, "he would spend hours at the piano playing hymns."
Now I suggested we sing Paul’s favourite hymn. "Amazing grace," she began, then her voice cracked. "How sweet the sound." It was more of a sob than a song. But she managed to get through the stanzas. Next we sang, "What a Friend we have in Jesus," followed by "Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine." With every song her voice became stronger. As we continued to sing, something wonderful happened. There was a Presence in the room. Florence’s anguished face became relaxed and gentle. Then, with a voice full of confidence she said, "Paul, this is not defeat. This is victory!"
An amazing strength had seeped into Florence’s heart and mind by singing those songs. That strength carried her through the funeral and the coming months of grieving.
What are you facing right now? Take heart! God intends to walk you through the valley. You’re not destined to stay there. (Psalm 23) And at the end of it all, you’ll see that God was there all the time. Your understanding of God’s faithfulness will be greater and deeper for having gone through the experience.
Prayer: Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me back to your dwelling. I want to be led, not by my moods, but by the truth of God.
Questions: Do you have more than you can handle right now? Stop where you are, focus on all God is and put your needs into His capable hands. Do you believe He is enough for what you face today?

Jessica thanks for sharing..you have a wonderful way with words. I too feel that excitement for what’s ahead but keep telling myself to live in the moment and not be too focused on the future. Sharon…PRAISE GOD! Please keep my family in your prayers. My husband has felt the Lord calling him back to full-time ministry and we are on our knees everyday seeking the Lords Will and guidance. We want to totally have surrendered lives to Him because it’s easy to jump in and try to make things happen on our own but we really want to wait on the Lord and see what He brings our way.
Praying for each of you where ever time my feel like it is closing in or feeling the wear of everyday life, I must addmitt today is one of those days for me I’m feeling a little under the weather, and I to am self employed I understand when things are slow and bills are still coming in…Just hang on God has always seen us through and on days like today I only know to look up and trust him, nothing comes to him as a suprise, he sees each of us and all that we face, he has a plan, all that he ask of us is to put one foot infront of the other and trust him…prayers go up for each of you, keep walking he’ll lead you in the direction you should go.
Fran: So glad to hear from you, hope you are having a great day!!
I’m praising God, Sharon! WHAT A MIGHTY GOD WE SERVE!

Thank you so much for your timing with this devotion–I truly needed it today!
I have been feeling so down and rotten lately… we’re self-employed, and winter seems to be the time when there is a lot less money (work is much slower), but the bills are higher. My husband drives a truck, and we rarely see him. I’ve taken on babysitting 2 kids just to try and pay the bills… Through all of this, I’ve allowed myself to feel such stress. I’ve really allowed the enemy to beat me down a lot in the last few weeks.
I do believe that God will see us through. I need that to hold onto because right now it seems there is nothing else! Praise God that He keeps His promises–I believe that He will take care of our needs and see us through this rough patch!

Out of our Praises come miracles..Thank you for that powerful reminder, dear Helen! And for the amazing Corrie tne Boom..Her book The Hiding Place still relevent today and always will be..Even “fleas” in a concentration camp were used of the Lord to keep the Word with this earthen Saint.
Believing for you, Dear Sharon, HE’s with You!!!!
Dearest Sharon,
I am praying for you as you are probably having the biopsy at this time. Know you are bathed in prayers from all of us.
Dear Jesus,
We asked that you give Sharon peace in knowing you are right there beside her. Lord guide the doctors as they do this procedure. We ask for your healing touch…right now and that there will be NO CANCER. We ask it in your precious name….believing!
Dearest Sharon,
He will be with you through this…..He promises us that..
When I saw what lay before me,
Lord, I cried, What will You do?
I thought He would just remove it
But He gently led me through..
Without fire, there’s no refining..
Without pain, no relief..
Without flood, there’s no rescue..
Without testing, no belief..
Through the fire
Through the flood
Through the waters
Through the blood
Through the dry and barren places..
Through life’s dense and maddening mazes..
Through the pain and through the glory
Through will always tell the story
ABBA GOD!
Whose power and mercy
Will not fail to take us through.
It is so ture God know what we need and he know when we need it! If you think God has forgoten you dont worry he hasn’t and he will show you and he will be right on TIME!! It may not be it the way you want or think but it will be JUST what you need! GOD IS FAITHFUL
Thanks for the encouraging word it was just what I needed to hear!
Thanks Patricia! And Sharon, Im praying for you wherever you are!

sharon b
amen I so agree Patricia. Please Lord help us all to remember that You are always with us and in our circumstances. Help us to always keep our eyes on You and not the circumstances — to focus on Your love and who You are in each of our lives …. our strength, our everything in the the powerful name of Jesus Your Son, amen.
A beautiful message this morning of God’s faithfulness when we choose to focus on Him rather than on our circumstances. And a beautiful follow-up Jessica. We are all indeed on a journey and it is so important that we keep our eyes on the end of the tunnel, not on the stumbling blocks along the way.
He is enough- even in the mean time. Im learning the patience to resist and let my faith grow in the mean time- during that massive point between beginning, revolutionary, visionary faith and the manifestation of that faith. That mean time is tough on the emotions, hard on the body, and often filled with the temptation to quit. Its the time between deciding to bake a cake and the ding of the timer saying its complete. Its the time between taking the first step and completing a 25 mile marathon. Its the point between the Garden of Gethsamne to the empty tomb. Its the period between sunset and sunrise. Its dark, at times bleek, and somewhat blinding. Yet, there is an excitement boiling in me about what I dont know. Because I dont have to know everything to know that He is God and NO- THING is impossible for him. He aint leavin me out to dry. Even in the meantime.
Amen, and Amen!
