This breaks my heart. When I heard about it I immediately thought how devastated I would be to lose my wedding rings. I have only been married a year and a half but as time passes I cherish them more. What they must have represented to this woman: commitment, faithfulness, sacrifice, children, investment, being chosen, loved, cherished, by her best friend. How many things, how many relationships in this world today last that long? It must make her sick inside to know that the person who has her rings now has no clue what priceless value they possess and is treating them like pieces of metal.

I think you're right Darren, if we're honest with ourselves, we have a gut human reaction to this.
