My God, My Lord and God, My God in whom I trust, My God forever and ever:
Psalm: 118:28; Revelations: 4:11; Psalm: 91:2; Ps 48:14

My Song, My Light and my Salvation, My Rear Guard, My Glory, The Lifter of my head:
Psalm: 118:14; Psalm: 27:1; Is 52:12; Psalm: 3:3

My Father, Savior, Redeemer, Deliverer, Defender, Protector, Avenger:
Isaiah 63:16; Psalm: 42:5; Is 43:14; Psalm:18:2; Proverbs: 23:11; Psalm: 32:7; Psalm: 18:47

~Lord God,
Thank you that over and over reference is made to You as “My” God…. very personal, in the here and now… with me. Thank you that You inspired these Old Testament writers to record the very intimate side of Your nature toward us.

My Savior… who lifts my feet out of the quicksand of sin.
My Redeemer

… Who restores the destruction in my life that sometimes has come even by my own hand.
My Deliverer… Who will carry me through my circumstances and out the other side to victory.
My Defender… Who prays for me and shows me the way through injustice and wrongful charges.
My Protector… Who surrounds me with angles and who helps me guard my heart.
My Song… Who gives me deep peace and joy within even in the midst of trials.
The Lifter of my head… Who knows me and bestows on me the privilege and authority of being His child.

You are my God in whom I trust. Today I place my body, soul and spirit into the care and keeping of You, my faithful and trustworthy God. Direct me today as I go and remind me of all You are to me as I juggle life in my world. In the precious name of Jesus I pray, amen.

Questions: Do you have difficulty placing you confidence in God?  As you come to realize all that Christ is, how does that encourage you in time of difficulty?

    Dear Romel
Not sure if that was a serious question of not, but just in case.
“No, your constant contact with God won’t keep Him too busy for me or your friends!!! Bless you for your many meaningful comments

Thanks very much Gail for your awesome devotional once again. I’m a huge fan of GOD, the Father, Jesus our beloved LORD and Savior and the HS and for HIS conviction in my life and HIS empowerment.I don’t think I have not been continuously asking, praising, praying or talking or having a conversation with HIM. I am so dependent to HIM even in a very small things, I wonder what HE would tell me when I reach heaven. My friends said that I keep GOD busy on me that they barely have a share of HIM. Is that true? :-)

I just would like to make a comment on GOD our defender because I use this attribute of GOD frequently. You said:

My Defender… Who prays for me and shows me the way through injustice and wrongful charges.

When I am in the midst of this kind of trials of injustice and wrongful charges which are too many and sometimes the evil one uses our brothers or sisters in CHRIST to set us against each other (he is very cunning and subtle in his ways) I pray through Isaiah 54:17 that says: :No weapons forged against me will prevail and you will refute every tongue that accuses you, this is the heritage of the servants of the LORD and this is a vendication from me.”

Of course in verse 14 of Isaiah 54, it says “In righteousness you will be established, tyranny will be far from you; you will have nothing to fear; terror will be far removed and it will not come near you…….

Again may I repeat that it says ‘in righteousness you will be established.’ As we surrender ourselves to GOD, GOD will cover us with the righteousness of JESUS CHRIST.. for HE is our righteousness.

i know through rough times when I am physically struggling My protector, My defender, My Guard mean a lot to me. God has protected my knees from getting hurt. He has guarded my footsteps by bringing someone to help me get to my car, He protects me by bringing me encouragement. At the moment I am walking freely and rejoice with the freedom I have in my walking! PTL

How precious the knowledge of the intimacy of “My God”. He knows me and He takes great delight in me! No wonder the Psalmist said that that knowledge was too great for him. (Ps 139) But we have what the Psalmist didn’t have, the living proof of that love in the life and death of His Son Jesus. Let’s rejoice and rest in that love and assurance that He us never more than a prayer away. That is what keeps me going in the hard times!!!

I, too, enjoy these devotions on the various names of God and how it tells us (as you wrote, Gail) “the very intimate side of (God’s) nature toward us”.

I only wish I was able to retain it all! I have printed it out and have referred to it. Thank you, Gail.
