"Do not be afraid of them; the LORD your God himself will fight for you" (Deuteronomy 3:22)
We were driving our son’s four – wheeler on a trail through the forest in Northern Alberta. Wild roses, blue bells, wild strawberries and other plants blanketed the soil under the tall, slender Aspens. It was very peaceful and we were truly enjoying the ride.
And then, just ahead of us, we saw a mother grouse and her baby chicks scurrying across our trail. The chicks were running as fast as their toothpick thin legs would carry them; however, the mother stood her ground, her tail feathers fanned out, her neck feathers ruffled. She was positioned to protect her family! We stopped the quad and watched.
The chicks had scattered on both sides of the trail and the mother began clucking rapidly, calling her chicks. Soon the chicks ran toward her and then the whole family ran to hide in the underbrush.
A brave mother taking on a large four – wheeler; she was willing to give up her life for her little family. Mothers are like that.
But as I watched her, I thought of our Good Shepherd giving His life for His flock and of leaving the 99 sheep to look for the lost one. I thought about our Lord’s promise:
"My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand" (John 10:29).
Comforting, isn’t it? He fights for us!
I am so thankful to You Lord Jesus, for protecting us, Your little flock, Your children. Only when we get to heaven will we realize how often You saved us from harm. Thank You again. Amen

Thank you, Debra; your reply is encouragement to me, too :-}.
Diane
Thank you for posting these verses this morning. It really blessed my soul to read the first one and know I am forever His.
I love how the footnote says in Hebrew 7:25 “or forever”. When you think of how He (Jesus) is able to save forever those who come to God through Him, it reminds me He has claimed me for His own forever. What an assurance that is to me and should be to all of us.
God Bless You All. What a wonderful group of Christian ladies you are. Thank you for sharing.
In Christ,
Debra
I am grateful to know that Jesus intercedes for us in prayer to the Father, even now :- }.
From BibleGateway-NIV:
Hebrews 7:25
Therefore he is able to save completely [a] those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
Footnotes:
[a] Hebrews 7:25 Or forever
Hebrews 9:24
For Christ did not enter a man-made sanctuary that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God’s presence.
Romel, thank you for the wonderful scriptures which goes along with the prayers lifted. Do you look these scriptures up or are you blessed with a wonderful memory? I used to memorize, however, my memory has been damaged due to my stroke. It is one of my goals this year. . . to start again, no matter how slowly.
I, too, join in with my fellow sisters in Christ in the prayers lifted up for each other. Bless you all. love in Christ, Judy

Lord I join all the prayers lifted her for each other by wonderful ladies who are possessed by YOUR wonderful love for each other. Thank YOU LORD that YOU already have started working on all our situations and needs… Isaiah 65:24.
You said that if YOUR word abide in us and we abide in YOU whatever we prayed, YOU are going to give it all to us. Psalm 89:34 says that YOUR covenant YOU will not break and YOU will perform all that YOUR lips had spoken. I believe them all Oh GOD, thank YOU for being so good to us. In Christ name, amen.
I am thinking of your Sharon! Be assured of my prayers!

Dear Heavenly Father, You delight in hearing from us and will work through the prayers of your people. I praise you Lord for you are God Almighty, merciful and caring. Lord, Patti is feeling confused and needs your light to mark her path. Help her to claim your promises of love and care. Lord, Patti has a very special way with words and we would all miss her very much if she decided not to share with us anymore. Lord, I pray that Patti will continue to fulfill her purpose here by encouraging and ministering to us. I thank you Lord for hearing our prayers. I ask these things in the precious and holy name of Jesus….Amen
Dear Heavenly Father I just bring Patti to you right now Lord you see how she is feeling so misunderstood and I just pray that you would show her ho much she is loved and cared for. I must leave this blog..I feel so misunderstood……I need to pray…..I need to pray and ask for His guidance………as I am so confused.
Romel…..
Thank you for sharing. I’m not gifted in sharing beautiful words either. I share my heart….it is who I am….Surely you aren’t speaking of me……as I just want to share my heart….and the things..the beautiful things the Lord has done for me and so underservingling so.
What an inspiration you are to me! I have everything…according to most…..not wealth, not perfect health….my life isn’t perfect, but it would seem to some so.
I so want to have purpose tho…..I want to be a clean vessel …that I Can be used. I’m not there yet. I know that.
Thank you for the scriptures………and for the encouragement.
Sometimes I just feel……..I am walking blindly in the dark…doing the best I can, which is not good enough.
Please Lord…..minister to my heart..thank you for sending those who minister to me…exhort me and help me to understand.
I love You Lord….that is true….
Margaret it is Linda I have lost my first husband, my teenage daughter, My mom and dad I don’t claim to have all the answers by any means but if you ever want to talk my email address is lrohne@shaw.ca I am 57 yrs old and have fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis, just to let you know a bit about myself. Hugs Linda !!!
I hear the words trust Jesus to take care of me. I know they are true. My head says I know it was mom’s time but my heart says otherwise. This last week I am working through letting go of mom. It is taking time! I know it is part of the grieving process to let go and there is quite a hole there. It hurts to let her go as I had her for 47 years. Mom was so apart of my life. I am struggling at the moment!
I know God is faithful and bring me through!
Linda and Patti, great sharing. I know I had shared here before these experiences but let me be very concised in my sharing it again.
My husband just died. I had not much money in the house but had been soft to the call of helping visiting missionaries. When I put my grocery money in the plate to help them, the following day (Monday), I received more money in the ‘thank you’ envelope and card from one of my patients, and there was great sales on food that week. So my groceries last for a month, not a week.
When I gave away my money during a World Vision Fundraiser, money that I was planning to use to buy a decent coat as I only got one I used for going to work and going to church, my friend came to me with a big shopping bag the following Monday. She was cleaning her closet and have this fur coat she only used 5 times. It perfectlly fitted me and she gave it to me free.
Yes, our GOD is faithful and we cannot outgive HIM. HE knows our needs and knows our hearts and I always remember what is said in Isaiah 54:14 that ‘In righteousness we will be established’.
yes i trust Him always
I am not gifted in constructng beautiful words to convey my thoughts especially about the awesomness of our GOD so let me use the words of king David who is after GOD’s own heart. He said:
It is good to praise the LORD and make music to YOUR name Oh MOST HIGH,
To proclaim YOUR love in the morning
and YOUR faithfulness at night,
to the music of the ten-stringed lyre
and the melody of the harp.
For YOU make me glad by YOUR deeds Oh LORD
I sing for joy at the works of thine hands.
How great are YOUR works O LORD
How profound YOUR thoughts!
The senseless man does not know,
fools do not understand,
that though the wicked sprung up like grass
and all evildoers flourish,
that they will be forever destroyed.
But YOU, O LORD, are exalted forever
… The righteous will flourish like a palm tree
They will grow like cedar of Lebanon;
planted in the house of the LORD,
They will flourish in the house of our LORD,
They will flourish in the courts of our GOD.
They still bear fruits in old age,
They will stay fresh and green,
Proclaiming the LORD is upright;
He is my ROCK and there’s no wickedness in HIM.
Psalm 92: 1-8, 12-15 NIV
My heart is always hungry and thirsty of our GOD.
HE made me aware of HIS presence at all times.
If I utter words to HIM, I know HE is listening.
If I ask HIM something within HIS character and will I know HE is going to give it to me to give me joy that has no end.
Its because of this I’m fearfully walking with HIM with gratitude and humbleness,
For HE is an awesome GOD, the King of the earth and yet, I have HIS full attention anytime.
Who am I to rebel against HIM?
Who am I to disobey HIM and not love HIM?
Who am I not to release all what I cared for and what I got to HIM?
HIS WORD is established in heaven.
HIS faithfulness is from generation to generation.
HIS faithfulness is fresh every morning.
HIS judgement is excellent, righteous and true.
HIS wisdom, knowledge and understanding set the foundation of heavens and earth.
Yes, there’s no one like our GOD.
To HIM be the glory, honor and praise forever and ever, Amen.
Nice to see you back online Patti. I have had to learn from a very early age to Trust God to take care of me and He Always has. Even when there wasn’t enough money to pay all my bills it seemed as long as my tithe came off the meager amount of money that I had I never failed to pay the bills or have food in the house. I can remember one time not having any undershirts that fit Lee-Anna anymore (she was about 8 or 9 months old) and that following Sunday when we went to church a lady came up to me and gave me a bag of good used clothing for Lee-Anna and in it were several undershirts. You know this past March when Terry & I had the flu really bad Fran prayed that someone would bring us some chicken soup, well I wanted to say to her, forget it Fran you will have to wait till the cows come home before that ever happens, but I didn’t and a week later I got a get well card from a friend of 30 or more years and in the card she put a package of Chicken Noodle soup. Terry & I had just been saying that very morning how much we felt like Chicken Soup. So I would have to say Definitely YES God Does take care of me & my family. As far as giving my fears to Him I can say Yes I can but the question to that would be Do I leave them there??? Now that is a big one for me. I just pray that The Lord will continue to help me to bring them to Him and Leave them with Him.
Hugs Linda!!!
Thank you Patti for your beautiful words. God has truly given you a gift of sharing His unfailing love with others through your inspiring words.
This devotional made me think of God’s unfailing love for all mankind. As I watched a movie about a mother that did not care or love her beautiful child, I thought she deserves whatever she gets but realized that our Lord does not feel that way for those like her. When you think of His love even for those we find hard to love, it is truly awe inspiring and then how much more He must love those that love Him.
Thank you today Lord Jesus for revealing yourself to us each day in new and exciting ways. Continue to show yourself to me that I may share with others your undying and unfailing love.
In Christ,
Debra
Even as a child, when I didn’t know anything about God’s love, He protected me. As a teen, when I had not heard about Jesus’s love, He protected me. As a beginning college student, someone shared with me His love. Even then, as as the next two years, I went my lost way, He protected me.
The day I met Jesus…I began to understand His love…looked back on my life and saw where He protected me.
Can I trust Him? Yes, I can trust Him. He has proven faithful over and over. Sometimes my faith runs low as I face different things in my life, but ultimately He is the Only One I can fully trust to protect me.
Fear often creeps in…satan has a way of catching me unguarded…but eventually, I allow my thoughts to think on Him and His promises and can give my fears over to Him.
I know fears and uncertain times will come again….but “Dear Jesus, let me trust You through this journey. You say You will never leave me. May I always know that wherever I go, You are with me. Lord lead me through this journey, however dark it seems. I know You have gone before me, so give me the courage to hang on to Your strong and loving hand.
My Jesus…You are the only One….
To calm my fears and still my soul
You come to me…with Your sweet love
You give me peace when all around seems falling
I Praise Your Name…O Holy One!
I Praise Your Name…O Holy One!
Lord be with all of us as we walk our different paths…as we walk into the unknown, may we hold Your Hand…trusting like a child.
In Jesus Name…
Amen
Thank you Katherine for today’s devotional. Your descriptive ride on the four-wheeler was so wonderful I felt as though I was riding on the quad with you. Then I thought, where could we go around here that would have similiar surroundings as your ride in the woods. When you wrote about the grouse, I could see the mother grouse in my mind’s eye, as I have seen them before like that before, too. However, when as you drew the analogy of the mother grouse to our Lord and Saviour, you opened my mind and I thought how wonderful— I am sure I would not have made that analogy. I desire to have that ability to see the Lord as you did.
Thank you, Jesus, for protecting me, for saving me, and for loving me. I pray that I may be able to see you Lord in the surroundings around me and that I may share you with others. In your strong Name I pray. Amen.
