The verse from Proverbs about 'the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom' is the one that came to my heart as well. Yeah, Loreli; right on about praying/asking HIM for HIS wisdom for all areas of our lives. I believe it is in doing this that Christian maturity and growth will come to us all; any comments on this thot? I think it is in asking HIM, as Margaret wrote, that we grow closer to 'knowing HIM and HIS ways' and so move from being babies just having milk and baby food to be able to sit down and enjoy rich full meals that need lots of chewing on? My mentor has encouaraged me to ask the Lord what he thinks about a particular question. She wanted me to find my answers from the Lord and being dependant on him instead of running to her and being dependant on her. I ask the Lord questions, how i should do things and evenually i get an answer. It happened to me a few weeks back. I was was find it hard to understand a couple of friends. I asked the Lord to help me to understand these ladies. In the afternoon on my way out to volunteer I was listening to a local Christian radio station and a newer version of Just as I am came on. As i listened the Holy Spirit spoke and i began to cry. Acceot them Just as they are and don't try to change them. It was exactkt what I needed and it has helped me. Jesus accepts us the way we are He came and died for us on the cross for our sin! He took it and offers to give us new heart. Wow, God is so good. I have also learned during the day to stop and ask the Lord to help me when I cannot figure something out! Wisdom Wow ! I have not always considered myself wise, just the opposite, at times wondering why God would put someone like me in a position to tell other people how to live. There are days when my head feels like it will explode with decisions, fears, conflict and upset. It is only at those times in the day when I surrender my will to his that I find peace. The battle is a spiritual one defining truth from the lies of the enemy. If we get caught up in thinking that it is only about us we miss the true meaning of life, it's about Him, our Savior and how he can minister through us. He gives life and wisdom to all who listen. My little girl was at a church the other night and went to the microphone and began to boldly speak of her Savior and how he can change your life, such words cannot come from a ten year old heart without impartation and wisdom from God. Lord, I am asking for wisdom in every area, take the tender places of my heart, the places where only you and I go and heal me from within, teach me your ways that I may accomplish your goals, help me to dream dreams that are not ordinary, help me to change the little world I live in with You. Help me to be a friend to the person at church that doesn't get all the attention, I want to be a good daughter, mother and wife but I need your wisdom and strength to do it.
