Trusting All Day Long

**Are you feeling confused and is your life just not making sense right now? http://womentodaymagazine.com/wt_chat/6.html?channel=cwt-forum

Trusting God is easy when things are going well and we can see our way. But trusting God when the path is obscured and we cannot clearly see ahead is not so easy.

There is prayer in the Bible prayed by David in Psalm 25 verses 4 & 5. It is a prayer you and I can pray for ourselves when our way is obscured and when our focus on God tends to waver with the uncertainty of our lives.

Mark it in your Bible and make it the prayer of your heart when doubt and fear want to crowd out your faith.

“Show me your ways, O Lord (for I am confused and my ways are not working)

“Teach me your paths (I want to walk in the path you have for me)

“Guide me in your truth (reveal to me areas where I am not seeing or thinking clearly)

“and teach me (Lord, I am open to be corrected where I am wrong. I’m listening Lord)

“for you are my God and my Savior (thank you for caring for me personally)

“and my hope is in you all day long.”(I declare, in the spiritual realm, that I am trusting in You and I pray that you help me to trust you as I walk through my day.)

Thank you that You, the God of Hope, are my certainty in uncertain times. I lean on You today! In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Whenever your faith wants to waiver, read this prayer and refresh your confidence in the Lord who will lead you and guide you and teach you because He is your God and Savior and your hope all the day long!

God bless you as you place your trust in our trustworthy God… all day long!

Questions: How do you respond in uncertain times? David seems so confident that God would answer his prayers: Can you explain why?

    Dear Anon,
What a picture you paint w/the sponge analogy. What a painful place you are in having everything ‘squeezed out’ of you.
I too add my prayers; Father YOU hear the cry of Anon and YOU know how painful this time is for her. Yet YOU tell us that all things will work for YOUR good…….so Father I simply stand w/Anon today asking that whatever is the reason and purpose for this hard time of being squeezed that YOU will give her YOUR wise wisdom and counsel to see and understand, so that this time will be as short a time as possible [for YOUR word says that YOU will NEVER give us more than we can handle & Anon is beginning to feel that she can not take much more].
Father is it YOUR arms & hands that are doing this squeezing? Are you using others to do this squeezing? Is there something that Anon is missing that she needs to have revealed?
Lord God reach down from heaven to comfort her. Speak words of love and comfort to reassure her that this time will come to an end and that she will rise up from it to YOUR honour and glory alone!
Speak words of encouragement to her Father and may she rest in YOUR alone. I ask all this and more in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, YOUR son who died that we all might have life and that life would be ‘abundant,’ in HIS name. Amen.

Blessings to you Anon as you continue to seek HIS perfect will for your life.

Father, I thank you for this sister, Linda R. I thank you that she’s such a prayer warrior. I am blessed by her thoughts, concern and prayers. Lord, I pray that You would bless her, her family, and continue to use her for Your purposes. God, thank you for using people here and there, to encourage, pray for, listen. Lord, I ask for Your continued mercy upon our lives. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Linda R, thank you again for reaching out, and your prayer. I prayed it and asked God to continue to protect me.
God Bless you. (and each of you on this site).

  • Linda R says:

Dear Heavenly Father we come to You on bended knee asking You once again to just cover anonymous with the Blood Of Jesus. Oh Lord put a hedge of protection around her, help her to find the church where You want her to worship You and fellowship with other brothers and sisters. Jesus we do not understand why people can be so cruel but I just pray Lord that they would stop being that way towards anonymous as when they look at her they will see Your Holy Angels encamped all around her and their tongues will be silent. I just pray Your encouragement to flow through her now, bless her and minister to her and just help her to stay close to You. In Your Name I Pray, Amen! Hugs, Linda!!!

thank you. sigh, again today there was another misunderstanding, more shed tears, I am wondering why God is really putting me thru this hard, test. Please pray for me. I am really trying. I feel like a sponge that is having all the water squeezed out of it, thru the months, and I hate to say, almost years of suffering I’ve been thru. I just want some rest. Please pray for me, that I will find the right church, be healed, get-up & do what I’m supposed to be doing.

Thank you so much for your support. God Bless.

Anon………so good to have you back w/us!

Amen to the prayers for everyone on the blog.
When we are in times of uncertainty we try to ‘wait upon the Lord’ for HIM to speak to us, to lead and guide us. As a couple if it’s a huge time of uncertainty we do nothing until we are unified in what we feel HE wants & we ask a couple of friends who are sensitive to HIS voice to seek HIM on our behalf as well. At times we have had to ‘wait upon HIM’ for long stretches of time.
Once I remember ‘waiting upon HIM for HIS perfect time’ in a situation for almost 10 years! That truly taught me that God’s time-table is not the same as man-kinds time-table.

We can be certain that God will be faithful to us, HIS kids because HIS word tells us this over and over and over again!

What life experiences have you ladies seen HIM work out I wonder?

Just reading all the comments, thank you for all your support and prayers, it really helps. Judy D. My husband had his stroke 15 yrs ago, and is paralyzed on his left side, we have been thru all the therapy and he has too much damage to ever be any better. I do get out though, he is able to get around in his wheel chair and he can walk a little bit, just enough to get outside. The mental is worse than the physical tho, he is up one day and down the next and I never know what to expect. I do get away sometimes, my kids are really supportive. I try not to feel sorry for myself , but sometimes it is too much.. I know that God is in control and he will help me, again thanks so much for all the support. I appreciate it more than you will ever know. I pray for each of you also, and that God will continue to bless you.

what an awesome devotional. I prayed each line. Thank you sisters for your powerful prayers. God is amazing as He is, but I am just trying to continue to trust Him. There are still some struggles (& some other ‘major’ ones) that I am trying to let God take control of, despite how in the human realm it can seem daunting. I pray God can redeem (all) situations in my life, turn them around & use for His Glory. Please pray this with me, if you can. Please pray that I’ll continue to be a strong woman of God, solid in Him thru my days. God Bless You, and may He meet you and me today.

Thank you Gail, this devotional is great and a printable one. I am going to keep in posted so I can refer to it when in times of conflict or stress. With the news these days about higher and higher gas prices, and everything else, I am so glad that I can trust God that he is in control.

It is wonderful Shirley that you have unwavering faith.

I lift everyone up today Lord and pray that we all put our hope in you this day.

Linda R, I like your daughter’s motto of “SMile for Jesus”. What a wonderful example that she is continueing to mininster to others. Hi Patti, glad to see you today, as I missed you yesterday.

I’m thankful and grateful that I serve a God I can trust to
lead my path and I will do just that. I will stand still and wait on the lord. I know that if I keep reminding myself that God is in control, I will be victorious in this,
and this to shall pass. I love the Lord and I trust him..

  • Linda R says:

I wish I could say I respond to uncertain time always in a positive way but I am only human and guess what I worry and sometimes too much. Oh how I wish those scriptures could be engraved in my memory so I could think of them every time something negative comes along but unfortunately my short & Long term memory are no longer any good due to numerous shock treatments I had during my times of deep depression. So PTL I will just live one day at a time and always try to put Him first & Foremost in my life & in every decision making.
Dear Heavenly Father I just bring Pat to you today and Lord I just ask that you would just encourage her. Jesus I pray that you would send people to give her times of relief so she can go and have coffee with a friend or go shopping and not feel guilty. Jesus please give her the strength, patience, extra love & understanding as she deals with her husband especially when he is hard to deal with. Be near to her & give her a joy within that she never had before. Pat, I had a teenage daughter that was killed in a car accident and every note, letter or whatever she always signed it “KEEP SMILING FOR JESUS” SO that is what we put on Lee-Anna’s Grave Stone. When things get tough and discouraging maybe you could try and think about those words
“KEEP SMILING FOR JESUS” and maybe it might help in some small way. Also Dear Lord I bring Donna M Smith to you and her 13 yr old daughter, Jesus you see how badly she is trying to find a decent job so her and her daughter can live a comfortable life and also spend time together, Jesus I just pray that you would be with Donna right now encourage her, surround her with your love, joy, peace and just give her direction in her life on which way to go. I pray you will provide her with a wonderful job and you will Bless her & her daughter and together they will grow closer and closer to you. Then Lord I pray for March S as she too wants direction in her life, she is asking that You protect her from her job and that her marriage papers be ready. Jesus I just commit March to you and just pray that Your Perfect Will be done in her life. You see her and know the entire situation and I just commit it all over to you and just pray that you will lead and guide her in the direction you would have her to go and she would feel your love and encouragement in her life at this time. Also Jesus I bring Patti to you, Lord just help her to rest in You, lovingly wrap your arms around her, help her to feel and know you are right there with her, encourage her and help her to remember those scriptures: Trust in the Lord with All Your Heart and lean not unto your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths. Patti just remember God is in Control of every situation , I just pray all these things in Your name Amen and Amen, Hugs, Linda!!!

MAY I ALWAYS TRUST IN THE LORD IN GOOD AND BAD TIMES

  • Judy D says:

Pat, I am a stroke surivor (7 years May 30th!). My husband cooked all the meals for two years, plus working full-time. I am now on disability and able to stay at home and do the cooking and take care of the house, plus work-out. How old is your husband? Did he have physical therapy after his stroke? How long ago was that? Did he go through speech therapy? Did both of you attend a stroke survivor support group? If not, I would definitely recommend it? How old is your husband? I am 56. I had the stroke when I was 49 due to a antibody in my blood only 2% of the people have. It also causes lupus and now I have that. You need some relief. Check into home health care. See what your insurance will cover. My mom was “tied” to my dad taking care of him 7 days a week. We encouraged her to have someone come in once or twice a week so she could go to town (they lived in the country), bowl with her team, go out to lunch, and see her friends. She did that and it was wonderful for her. Do you receive the Stroke Connection magazine? http://www.strokeassociation.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=2533

I am at the end of my rope today, and barely hanging on. sometimes you just feel that things are going from bad to worse. I know I have a lot to be thankful for, but I have a husband who had a stroke and is disabled and so hard to deal with at times I feel what is the use in going on. I just want to run away sometimes.. do I give up or what.

  • Patti says:

These verses are my prayer today….as I am confused and I am not doing something right in my life. Knowing I cannot trust my emotions, I need to focus on Jesus and lean on Him.

I usually reach out, but today I feel more like being quiet…being still. I think for me right now I will ask Him to keep me safe, till the storm passes by.

  • Donna M Smith says:

This is what I needed at this point in my life. These past 2 years, the way is more foggy than ever; I done everything humanly possible; I’m a single woman with a 13y daughter; I’ve given everything I got to start my home based business and it seems like the more I try the worse stuff seems. This desire to provide a better lifestyle for my daughter and I is hurting my heart to no end. I have a college degree and I even attempted to go back and find work and nothing I’m trying is working. For me being a resourceful, tenacious and creative women that’s hard to admit. When God ask me to give everything to him, I’ve done that. This verse is what I need right now. I’m asking God what now.

  • March S. says:

guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.” Im praying right now that God will show the ways and lead me in the direction He wants me to be. Lord, protect me from my job right now, also let our marriage papers to be ready so we will be the right person You want us to be and to continue to worship & give you glory and honor in Jesus mighty name.
