Come!

**You can talk to us about knowing Jesus personnally.  http://thelife.com/interactive/ask.html

This is the beckoning call of Jesus.  Come. This is His cry for His church.  Come.  This is His message for the world.  Come!  This is His call to you. Come.

Jesus calls us to come to Him, come and be with Him, come and do with Him.

This was His call to Peter in Matthew 15:28 when he saw Jesus walking on water.  “Lord, if it’s you, call to me and I will come on the water”.

“COME”.

Jesus invited Peter to come and join Him, walk on water with Him and to do the supernatural with Him.   Peter, in faith, answered the call of Jesus. This is what He is calling us into; join Him and walk in His realm of possibilities.  Walk with Him totally and completely.

“COME”.

Peter had to come down out of the boat and abandon his comfort place where he felt secure in himself and move into territory that seemingly, in anyone’s eyes, would look unsafe and foolish while resisting human logic and common sense.

“COME”.

Deep within us lies this very same faith and longing that sent Peter walking on water and discovering who he was when walking with Jesus.  Will we answer this call as Peter did and unite with Him in expectation and excitement of His ways working within and around us?

“COME”.

Let us be “co-laborers” with God as the apostle Paul reminds us we are in 1 Corinthians, and walk this life with Him.  Let us stay fixed on Jesus Who has gone before us.  Let us take His hand and go where He leads us.  Let us put on the mind of Christ and walk with the same mentality and faith Jesus had. Let us fill our minds with God’s ways and possibilities, while being reminded that His promises are “Yes and Amen!”.  We will be able, as He enables us, to do all that He has called us too!

“COME”.

~Heavenly Father, I thank You for such a call as this.  I choose to come and enter the life You have called me into.  I remove all that has entangled me from coming to You wholly and completely and declare that I now and forever will walk with You in faith.  Take me as I walk in Your ways and Your possibilities which are so much higher than what I know.  Make Your life a reality within mine as I surrender and give You all of me. Amen.

Question: Are you willing to come to Jesus today as He calls you?

    vivian,
I, too, was faced with a life threatening issue over a year and a half ago. I felt the Holy Spirit within and I gladly followed. my life today is a 360 degree turn and I thank God and feel humbled each and everyday. I so totally see the focus of where I am today, I am not alone. I’ve much spiritual growing to do but i so totally see the focus of where and who I am now and where of who and what I am in Christ. I am, I feel, one of God’s miracles.

This devotion has really touched me, with the decision I have made to quit my job and be in the ministry with my husband. I will be stepping out of the boat and become totally dependent on God. Seven months ago I was diagnosed witha blood clot in my leg. During that time I was able to hear the Lord more clearly and really focus on the calling that God has giving me. Now the blood clot is gone and I don’t want to go back to the way I was in a comfort zone I want to step out and be used by God with no limits or boundaries. Continue to pray for me and the women’s ministry.

We have all been praying in unity about the hurricane, no worries and no fear. God would give you more than you can handle.

This devotional spoke to my heart and I would love to share parts of it with a group of friends. I have a question regarding the I Cor. reference. I have been searching for one passage where this may have been written but cannot find it. If there is one, may I know the exact chapter and verses. I’m assuming it is overview of several and the author paraphrased them. Any help would be appreciated.

I have come across 2 verses today that have to do with the word come! Matthew 15:25 Before I read this devotional I found

Matthew 11:28-29 Come to me ,all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light!

Linda I will certainly will pray for your safety! I have been praying earlier today for people in Texas!! Keep us up to date as you can how you are doing!

I was talking to my friend, Jason, who lives in Houston a little while ago, and I was getting really worried and worked up about it. And then I read this devotional and it made me cry. God’s in charge, and I need to rely on Him. Though I will still pray!
    This devo really inspired me.

the day that Jesus called to me, i was living my life with bad choices. He did say to me ‘come’. at that time i was washed over with such a serenity and peacefulness. that day was the beginning of a turnaround for me. i re-connected and from that day to today, i am re-building the foundation. i’ve a lot to comprehend but my heart says that i have been touched by the Holy Spirit and i can’t ignore the joy that i feel today in my life. i still wear the scars from these bad choices, but i am climbing toward good spiritual health by the sturdy grace of God. my earthly family may still see the reminders of the scars, but Jesus does not.

I’m asking for prayer for us in the Houston, Galveston, Texas area as we are about to enter into the fury of hurricane Ike. Our faith my be tested more than ever before. I am not only praying for safety & mercy but that Jesus will strenthen our faith in whatever we are asked to endure. I am also praying that we who know the Lord Jesus will be faithful in representing Him to the world around us. I also pray that we will trust Him no matter what happens to us or what we may lose.
