I see things through the lens of a christian worldview, this means looking to God each day for life and food and shelter and health. But if I only have $200 to last for 2 weeks, I plan or ration my resources. I won’t spend all that I have in one day. A 10 year plan/dream is fine though, but it takes the one day at a time plan to bring the long term dream to realization.

I think there is a difference between planning ahead and being a cautious person. Sometimes both are found in the same person, but in the case of my husband and me, we each tend to have one of the characteristics.

I love to plan things well in advance, researching all the options, dreaming things up that could be possible. But no matter how much dreaming and planning I do, I am always open to changing course and tend to be very spontaneous in doing so. My husband, on the other hand, doesn’t spend time planning, dreaming or learning about all his options but he hates making snap decisions and will wait until he is sure to make a move.

So his 10 year plan will take him awhile to commit to but will last a lifetime and mine has already been dreamed up but could change tomorrow!
