Making Your Deposit

Written by Gail Rodgers

**Are you feeling a deep loneliness? If you are facing a difficult time in your life we would love the opportunity to pray for you.

Shelly spent a lot of time and energy thinking about herself and her needs. The needs of others were often an intrusion and a frustration. She felt that she just needed to find herself right now.

It’s true that there are times in life when we need to catch our breath and regroup after change has come our way. But God cautions us not to stay there.

In these busy days we live in we often feel tempted to back away from people and keep as much of our lives to ourselves as possible. Sometimes a deep loneliness in our spirit develops as we try to cocoon ourselves.

God invites you to deposit your life into His hands or His account. He wants to use your life to touch others and bring you fulfillment in the process.

He says, “Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it” (Matthew 10:39).

God created you as a package that is uniquely you. He put gifts, ideas and passions into you that He wants to bring back to the surface to be used by Him to touch others. This is where you will find your greatest fulfillment…in letting the God who created you work through your uniqueness to touch others.

Be careful not to spend your days just in “finding yourself”. Deposit your life into God’s account for Him to spend in ways that will amaze you and bless you as He uses you to do just what He created you to do.

~Father God, sometimes I feel wearied by people and all their needs and demands. Thank you that You have created me uniquely.
Thank you that when I put myself in Your hands You will use my uniqueness to touch some other life… and I will be blessed. Today I deposit my life in Your account believing that as I spend my life for Your sake, I will actually find myself. Thank you for Your amazing grace that can use me as I am today because You will flow through me. Fill me now with Your Holy Spirit so I may walk today in Your plans for me. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Questions: How can we get away from the fact of spending too much time focusing on ourselves? How has God created you uniquely to touch others?

I know that God has given us all special abilities and talents and gifts that are to be used to share with others to enrich their lives and perhaps bring them to the Lord. But lately I feel I am running on empty..I feel that the talents I once thought I possessed are nothing more than empty dreams of becoming something or someone I may never be…but todays’ message reminds me that going to that dark place in my heart and mind solves nothing. I need to be positive and find ways to reach out to others and make their lives more meaningful. We all have the choice to do that each day..some days are more difficult than others.. I know I have the ability to touch others and by reinforcing my God given gifts I will try harder to do this..
Thank you Heavenly Father for your continued grace, love and guidance..my I deposit myself into your hands today and make a difference…

Turn your eyes upon Jesus. look full in his wonderful face and the things of earth will grow starngely dim in the light of his glory and grace!
When our fosus is on Jesus our eyes are off our circumstances. We can reach out to others and spending time with the Father brings us to listening to Jesus. We are all created in the image of GOd!

Thank you, Gail, for this wonderful reminder to not waste our lives seeking self-fulfillment, trying to ‘find ourselves.’ Though we are, indeed, lost sheep, we are wiser to look for Jesus, our Shepherd! For without Him, we are nothing. And in Him, we have our identity and purpose! And the rewards of this world pale when compared to His riches in glory!

We thank You and praise You, Lord Jesus, for saving us and giving our lives eternal purpose! Use us as You have ordained, and may we delight in Your plans for us, knowing that “in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” (Ro 8:28) In Your holy Name, Amen!

Greetings to all! It is indeed wonderful to focus our thots and attention and lives upon HIM for then we do find our reason and purpose.
Karen, we’ve been renovating a very old house for 10 months now. We are both tired in every way and really ‘need’ a short season of rest. As I’m re-focusing upon HIM HE is filling me up once again just as HE always does. Thanks for your honesty, I too have felt I’ve been running on empty.

Sharon today is Wed, so your biopsy is already done. I pray you did feel HIS presence thru the entire procedure and that today you are still resting in HIS palm knowing that no matter what HE is still your Lord and Saviour. HE never leaves us, especially at times such as this. In fact I ask YOU Father to surround Sharon w/the presence of Holy Spirit and even YOUR very angel to give her comfort and mercy and to feel YOUR grace upon her. I ask these things in the mighty name of Jesus who intercedes for us and on our behalf. Father I stand w/Sharon interceding along w/her and Jesus and many others who love her asking that this not be a reoccurance of the cancer. Again I ask these things in Jesus name. Amen and amen
Sharon will you let us know what the results are? Be blessed mightily as you wait.

Dear Sharon, I will be honored to pray for you my dear friend.
YOu have been there praying so many of us. Love and Prayers, Judy d

Heavenly Father, I bring Sharon your precious daughter before you. We thank you that through the precious blood of your Son our Savior, Jesus Christ, we are able to come to you with our requests. This day I pray for Peace and Comfort for her as she awaits her test results. Lord, we rebuke all the cancer cells from her body. May her body be cleansed and healthy. Thank you, Father. I do pray that you will support her during this fearful time. May the Holy Spirit strengthen Sharon, lift her up, and touch her body. May she feel your joy and love. Thank you, Lord. In Jesus Name We Pray. Amen

I hope this comes through. This website does not work well for me. I will put in a response, but I never see it. Strange.

  • Andi says:

    Judy,
do you remember to put a check mark into the box telling the program to send you responses? Probably you do. I know that machines are tricky at times so forgive me if you are already doing all the correct moves. Was just a thot.

  • Marilyn says:

Joining Andi in praying for you, dear Sharon . . .

Gracious Father, You know the end from the beginning, and we thank You that we can trust You with our futures! As You govern the universe by the power of Your Spirit, You are ever cognizant of the trials and concerns of your children, and You tenderly attend our needs! Thank You for Your promise to never leave us nor forsake us! Today, Lord, we lift up our sister Sharon to You, asking for Your divine care over her as she prepares for another mammogram. May it be Your will that the results will be negative, that no suspicious cells are present, and that she will be given a clean bill of health! You are Lord over our bodies, and biology submits to Your authority! And so, we entrust Sharon to You, knowing that You are the Faithful One! In Your most holy Name, Jesus, Amen!

Thank you, Andi, for the suggestion. Yes, I do click the box, but I cannot view what I write. Sometimes I cannot view what other people write and do not receive their comments via email. Sometimes I do (as I received yours via email). I have quit commenting on the response site because of this problem. I try every now and then to see if it is working for me. Thank you for your concern. judy d

Hi Judy D! Sorry to hear that you are having technical difficulties with this site! :( I, too, had been having some problems recently, as I believe CWT has been undergoing some site reconstruction. Are you able to access the website directly from the internet, instead of through your email? This is how I had to access the devotions and blog comments. While it may not be as convenient as receiving them through email, and may require periodic checking for comment updates, you would at least be able to join us! Your words of encouragement, wisdom and your prayers are ever a blessing to us all! We miss you when you are not here!

  • Judy/Marilyn: I’m a techie for the TM team and I’m looking into the issues you’ve described. There have been a few issues over the last month (it’s always when I go on vacation) and we’re working on solving them.

Please don’t give up on us. We highly value your comments. They make the site come alive!

    Thank you, Sheldon.
My comment came through today and I could see it. I commented on yesterday’s devotional earlier today and I could not see it as well as some other comments. However, today is coming through loud and clear. Again, thank you.

  • Kim p says:

Thanks to all of you for the prayers you send out, and sharing your thoughts. I am in a world of change and it is difficult to get my mind wrapped around it all. Thanks for reminding me how to do that. Blessings to all who shared and read today :o)

  • DonnaL says:

    Sharon,
Praying with expectation that the God of grace will be your constant comfort and peace as you wait for results from your biopsy…..Your sister in Christ, Donna

  • Marilyn says:

Hi Sheldon! Thank you for attending our technical concerns on this blogsite — I know that CWT has been undergoing site renovations, so figured our difficulties were related. Something I’ve noticed, however, since the changeover, is that we cannot seem to access archived devotions/comments anymore. It appears that only the most recent devotions are available, as listed (with links) along the right side of the webpage. Is there a means by which we can retrieve older devotions? I emailed CWT about this matter at least a month ago, and have not received a response. Thank you, Sheldon, for any input you may have!
