Do you desperately want to make some changes for the New Year but don’t know how? Some of the mentors on this site would love to pray for you.
The tiny wrinkles around my eyes seemed to appear almost overnight. One day I was very aware of them and knew I had better get that eye cream I was hearing about. I’d better try the “triple action”! I was amazed at the results…and in such a short time! This was good.
The waistband on my jeans felt tight. Could it be those wonderful cappuccinos I was regularly enjoying? I was amazed at the results… and in such a short time! This was not good.
I didn’t like the sand paper edge that seemed to spring up in a friendship of mine. I asked the Lord for patience and grace to bite my tongue. I was amazed at the results… and in such a short time! This was good.
Little decisions or changes peppered throughout the day push the edge of results to the negative or the positive.

It’s the same in your spiritual journey. Little changes… conscious little choices that push your walk with God in one direction or another. Little choices to let God in or to hold Him at a distance. Little choices of attitude; little choices of purity in thoughts or choices of entertainment. Little choices. Invite Him into them. You will be amazed at the results… and in such a short time!
“Create in me a clean heart O God, and renew a right spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10).
This New Year don’t make grand resolutions that will fade in a few short weeks. Choose daily to let God be a part of the little choices…choose to be amazed …and in such a short time!
Heavenly Father,
Thank you that You can create what is right and good in this heart of mine. Thank you that I can count on You to renew a right attitude within me. I am not making grand New Year’s resolutions that will fade, but I am asking You to help me make the right daily choices in the little things of life. I want to be changed in this New Year. I want You to renew right attitudes in me daily. Amaze me with the results, Father, as You guide me in the small things of my day. Thank you that I can face this New Year with freshness and anticipation because You are holding my hand! You will help me in the little things of life. For this I give You my praise! In Jesus name I pray, Amen

thank you and happy new year to all who come to this site
gail, thank you for a new devotional to start a new year. and to all the sisters here(my extended family) I pray that 2009 brings peace, serenity and goodwill to all.
I do want to make a few changes for this new year. one that desperately needs nurturing is fellowship in church. although i receive so much from other sources, with this site being number 1, and as it is not a substitute for attending church, in these past few months the comfort I have been receiving from ladies such as yourselves, has made me realize that I need the ‘humanism’ touch as well. i’ll be honest in saying that only on one hand for 2008 have i attended church. but, once I had walked through the doors, the nervousness slowly calmed and the other parishioners were so glad to see me back. amazing that a 20 year absence would bring such fuss but it did. i am more ‘at home’ now going to church and when the pastor talks I am mesmerized because I feel the Lord beside me, around me and above me. I feel the Lord personally. as far as my daily little chores go the Lord takes presidence each and every day, from morning to night. And it all came so naturally. It’s a want that is in me, not a ”have to”. I long to be closer to God and I know that fellowship is sooo much a part of my spiritual growth.
when I first received Christ as my Savior I felt like a kid in a candy store. so much to savor but no idea where to start. it took me 8 months of tasting this and testing that and listening to this and not listening to that before it came to my heart that I needed to pick up a Bible. start reading daily. I started Jan.13/08 and of course with Genesis. On Dec. 31/08, I completed Revelations and on Jan 1/09 the first Scripture I see is Genesis 1:1-”In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”NKJV.
I know now that God is not bound by time. He is my past, He is all around me in my present and He is my future. God is eternal in my life. as for resolutions, I looked up the definition in the dictionary. resolutions are: ”a state or quality of being resolute; firm determination; a resolving to do something; a course of action determined or decided on. I welcome in 2009 determined as I have truly been blessed.
