just a few days ago i told my daughter and husband that i am tired of worring about things that i really can’t do anything about and i am putting it all in Gods hands because He can do all things and that is just what i have been doing

Brigette, thank you for the devotional but especially the prayer that you wrote. I read this devotional the day it was posted and I was too not focused to absorb the warmth of it. I just read it again now and I so felt God’s love.

Lord, I lift JJ to you and ask that you would continue to bring your word and your promises to mind as she faces a difficult work situation. Father, we praise you that she has a job, that she was disciplined and bold enough not to say anything damaging during the meeting. Thank you that you always recognize the work she does and for allowing her employer to see it as well. I pray her exsample will be a light to those she works with, and that all she encounters today will see your love shining through her. I ask that you would continue to uplift and encourage her today. Shower her with your amazing love and grant her peace in her work situation. Amen.

I find it hard to think of Jesus while at work. I get frustrated easily. I am at a place where there is no growth and I feel like the company is letting me down. I look up to God to direct me in the right direction, today in a meeting I was trying to keep my mouth shut on what I really thought about how the Administration was handling things, and then one of the presentors pointed directly to me and acknowledged all my work and I then realized at least someone sees me, and recognizes me. God’s words came through her mouth and lifted my heart. A great example of how God lifts us from up when ever we need it the most. Thank you God for coming forth in my meeting today to show me to not be discouraged that you are following me through a difficult situation at work and you will walk by me and guide me through the good and bad. Amen!

God’s word tells us that if we hide His Word in our hearts it will help to keep us from sinning against Him. I have always struggled with being disciplined in commiting His Word to memory. And, to take it a step further and not only work on memorizing it, but to choose to recall His truth in moments of stress, or loss. I feel convicted that I need to make this great change in my life. 1 Peter 4 and 5 are great chapters regarding pressing on in times of struggle. I’m starting my verse memory here, hoping it will help me walk through my loss.

1 Peter 4:19 “Therefore let those also who suffer according to the will of God entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right.”

1 Peter 5:10 “And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.”

The first is a command to commit ourselves to Christ and doing what is right. The second is a promise of what He will do in us, and that the difficult times won’t last forever. As I was praying and thanking God for these verses in my car the other day I noticed a beautiful rainbow, and the only billowy clouds in the sky that were shaped like a castle. It was beautiful, and I believe He was confirming His promise to me. He’s not finished with any of us.

Thank you so much Carole. And also Jane for your comments – it is good to know that it isn’t just me!!!! I will keep you words on my mind and keep in a ‘conversation’ with Jesus in my daily life. I suppose I do this already to some extent, as I silently think about Him and talk to Him. Thank you again.

Carol you are so right. I will remember to pray to pray where ever I am. One thing I like is when I am knitting, I will pray with each stitch. I did this when I was knitting a shawl for my daughter.
