		<description>That this is a free speech issue is a little bewildering to me.  First of all, the Miss America Pageant is, as far as I understand it, not a public space, but a private one.  They can set their own rules.  And we can approve or disapprove, and register that approval or disapproval by watching or not watching, buying or not buying.

Secondly, if she had said, &quot;My religion teaches that marriage should be between men and women of the same race,&quot; would people be talking about free speech?  Or would everyone be as incensed at her comments as I am?</description>
