Muriel, thank you for this devotional. I am slightly behind in reading and responding. But I am so blessed that I have seen this devotional at a time when it touches exactly what I am experiencing.
Yes, I have been finding lately it very difficult to be close (I choose not to use 'real' as I don't feel it applies) I write daily my prayers and thoughts after reading Scripture and can express myself to the fullest. Yet I've found myself in a 'stymied' state for a while now and I don't know why. When I first started praying to God, I found it very un-normal for me (un-normal?). But eventually prayer became more personal between my heart and the Lord and now? Praying to God means that no matter what is happening in my life today, or what has happened in the past, I am not alone, never was alone and never will be alone. He is indeed my Father, loving and forgiving and I give thanks continually for I am so grateful and humbled that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I give thanks everyday for everything, every trial that has happened to me to bring me to today--His child. God bless.

I think sometimes it's hard to see that God has answered our prayers because it is not in the way we think it should be! Sometimes we pray for a certain result and when that specific thing is not done, we think God has failed us when in actuality, his plan for our day to day lives and for our every need include what HE knows is best for us. That's something that took me a long time to learn!

Yes God is so good. It is wonderful that Jesus walks everywhere with us. I like the "being still" form of prayer as well where you don't have to say anything but just enjoy spending time alone with God.

I love the fact that God is always there to listen without being judgemental of our mistakes. It is such joy to talk freely to him. He will not correct or make fun of you, as he already knows what it is you have to say. I just want to thank him for his unconditional love to me. What a love that is!

I thank God that He is just a prayer away. I love that I can go to Him anytime of the day or night. I will never be put on hold or my call lost. I love that idea of writing down my prayer requests and recording the day that the blessing comes through. Last sunday one of the sisters at church came to me and asked me how my migraine headaches were doing. I almost asked her what headaches? But then I remembered that was one of my prayer petitions to the chruch on a daily basis, I almost forgot that i USED to have bad migraines. God is so good, that those headaches are a thing of the past. I stopped right then and there and thanked God again for the miracle of pain relief. I'm glad I forgot about the pain, but not glad I had not recently thanked him again for the healing.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

Thank you for sharing this devotional with us.
The prophet Amos' words “Can two walk together except they be agreed?” is such a wonderful reminder of where our heart needs to be in order to be in communication with God.

I love that I can at any time of the day, speak to our Lord, even if it's to thank Him for helping me to accomplish a household task, or to thank Him for a song I heard on the radio that really speaks to my heart.

Our Lord is always there, we don't have to make an appointment or reschedule our day to spend time with him. He will listen even as we go about our daily work. I never feel alone knowing that He is with me.
