The Whole Package
“After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished …” (John 19:28 (NKJV).
“So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” (John 19:30 (NKJV)
Salvation was completely accomplished on the cross that day.
According to Strong’s concordance, the word “salvation” includes the concepts of “rescue, safety, deliverance, health, victory, help, success in everything, welfare, save, and liberty.” That is a very exciting and comprehensive package, and it belongs to each one of us who have received Christ. Not that we experience all of these things from the moment we are saved, but they are available to us and by faith we can trust God to work each one of these things into our lives.

Forgiveness: Good for Health: Can you forgive? Or be forgiven?
The Word tells us that we are to “work out our own salvation” (Philippians 2:12). Our salvation package is akin to Israel being given the Promised Land. Though they had not even entered into it yet, they had God’s assurance that it belonged to them, but they would have to go in and take it one piece at a time. All that salvation offers is our Promised Land, and it is already ours even though we may not be experiencing it yet. It is up to each one of us to understand what God’s sacrifice has provided for us, to believe by faith that we can have it, and then “work it out” by coming into alignment with God’s principals, and see the promises become a reality in our own lives. This is what it is to “take back what the enemy has stolen from us.”
“I will take up the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord” (Psalm 116:13).
“Let your mercies come also to me, O Lord, Your salvation according to Your Word” (Psalm 119:41).
“Lord I hope for your salvation and I do your commandments” (Psalm 119: 166).
“Therefore with joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation” (Isaiah 12:3).
Questions: What does the word “salvation” mean to you?
About the Author Emmie Stanley
Salvation means to me freedom, deliverance from shame and guilt. It means learning how to live this life with unconditional love, (given and received). It means knowing that the cares and battles of this life are not for me to fight I have a savior that has already fought them and won. Thank God for Jesus, His Word, and His Holy Spirit!
salvation to me: belief in Jesus Christ
thank you for giving me something to really think about
Amen sister, I’m encouraged by that word. God bless you all!
You are welcome Em. God hears the cry of your heart to draw closer in this quest. Not supposed to wander too far from the devotion so can’t get too personal; but we’ll meet one day in heaven and we’ll share our journey toward Jesus as HE led us!
In HIM and for HIM
Sister Andi, thank you so much for praying that powerful prayer for me. It means a lot. I prayed it, too, & pray that God continues to help each of us who seek Him with our hearts. God bless you today.
Salvation means Eternity with Jesus! YES!
Dear Em,
I stand w/you in prayer this day asking that HE the Father who is the Author and Finisher of our faith, our lives, our beings, will open up to you all the joy and love and wonder of HIS great hope, purpose and plan for you, when HE first knew of your existence! May you indeed grasp the entire panorama of the truth in the authors meditation today and over the coming days. May HE flood your soul, heart, mind and spirit w/the deeper truths of what it means to ‘work out your own salvation’ by HIS Holy Word. May HE place godly mature people in your daily walk and cause you to seek to spend hours in HIS word and in HIS very presence. In HIS name I stand today w/you asking these things for you. Aman
Pray for me, that I can “work out my own salvation.” (Phil 2) Thanks.
Thanks for sharing this truth that it seems so many do not fully grasp. Knowing this we can enter into the FULL promises thru this journey on earth knowing that HE will never or forsake us. This reminder is a vital KEY to our Journey of Joy to steel someone else’s line. Again thank you and be blessed all who read this.
Salvation is our Promised Land. Wow! I had never actually thought or heard it in those exact terms. Great perspective. Thank you, Emmie.
