Separate Yourself
Tired of trying to live the Christian life in your own power? Talk to us.
“Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, Who delights greatly in His commandments. His descendants will be mighty on earth. Wealth and riches will be in his house. He will not be afraid of evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established; He will not be afraid” (Psalm 112:1-3, 7-8, NKJ) .
When we received Christ, we were delivered from the kingdom of darkness and conveyed into the Kingdom of the Son of His love (Col. 1:13). It’s a completely different place and a fresh new start.
We no longer need to allow ourselves to be cheated through the deceit and vain principals of the world. We can live according to what Christ has for us (Col. 2:8). The system of the Kingdom of God is very unlike the world’s system. We are to come out of the world’s system and learn to put our confidence in God’s system.
No matter what is going on in the world we can continue to expect to be blessed, to have success, and to be fearless. The woes of the world do not take a single thing away from who God is, or what He owns. It is upon us to decide which kingdom we will live in.
Are you letting the troubles of the world impact your expectations? Do you continue to rejoice in the abundant and sure promises of God, and His unshakable Kingdom?
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly… but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planed by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper” (Psalm 1: 1-3, NKJ).
“A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you” (Psalm 91:7, NKJ).
Questions: How do the woes of the world affect you? How can we remain positive in a difficult surrounding?

God’s word is truth and life, am still meditating on the quotation in the first paragraph of the devotional,”blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in his commandments, his descendants will b mighty on earth. wealth b and riches will b in his house. he will not be afraid of evil tiding;his heart is steadfast trusting the Lord.his heart is established;he will not be afraid”. when u serve God n obey his commandments ungrugdingly, u n ur kids(family) will b undoubtably blessed. remember God never lies.
thank you for a wonderful devotional
Amidst a few medical “unknowns”, I am now reminded of how to think and live in Godly not worldly expectations. This was a much needed reminder of God’s grace and mercy. I loved the Scripture from The King James Bible. Thanks so much! God bless you.
Thanks for the encouraging devotional. And Trisha, your comments also are inspiring and so true. The Lord can keep us peaceful and hopeful if we trust Him to help us and look after our troubled world.
Twoes of the world used to affect me greatly and i would always have to say something about them to whomever would listen. i was indignant and voiced all the negatives about the latest political infractions and how wrong everything was. These thoughts would anger me, make my blood pressure rise and i would lose the little bit of peace i had at the time. i always felt i had to DO something. i would write my point of view to the senators or make phone calls to the White House! How ridiculous was this? VERY! i now have the revelation of the Kingdom of God and where the King is, there is Love and Acceptance. i now am able to tolerate the woes of the world bec i know Jesus is still the one in control. i separate myself and no longer read the email forwards about the latest gossip and wrong doing of the government. i live in subjection to a KING not a president who is weak and will make human mistakes. The Creator of the Universe makes NO mistakes. When you can turn all the evil over to HIM and keep focused on HIS Word, the Peace and Mercy will follow you around. Instead of joining in with all the complaining and useless talk, you will bring HIS light into the situation. After all, isn’t this why HE chose us?
