God knows…God cares…God loves you…There is hope. Someone is waiting to talk with you now.
“May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loves us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word” (2 Thessalonians 2:16, 17).
Are you weary today? Is your strength failing?
Often we find ourselves in situations that require us to pour out physical and emotional energy at such a pace that there is little or no time to be replenished.
Raising young children is one such season of life. There aren’t enough hours in the day to accomplish all that needs doing; the necessity for constant vigilance is draining and a moment of rest seems weeks away.

Being the primary care giver to someone who is sick or aging is another period of unrelenting demands on your energy. Beyond the physical demands, grief often takes an added toll.
Perhaps it is the strain of broken relationship that is exhausting you. Estrangement from a friend, sibling, or son or daughter exacts a heavy price from your peace of mind. Confession, forgiveness and working through the issues take more strength than you possess.
Many times we desire to do these good things that God has called us to, but become discouraged and tired.
Thus it is wonderful to discover that our God gave us eternal encouragement and good hope! More than a momentary pick-me-up, by God’s grace and love we have access to a continuous supply of hope and encouragement.
Feelings fluctuate, but God and His word stand firm forever. Keep clinging to Him.
Please allow me to call on God on your behalf today:
May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loves you and by his grace gave you eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your heart and strengthen you in every good deed and word. Amen.
Questions: What does eternal encouragement and good hope mean to you? What unrelenting demands on your energy are you facing today?

I completely agree with this post- how could I not. Satan will try to rip us down and tear us apart in every way possible, at our weakest moments. But God is our ever-present help in trouble and He will never leave us nor forsake us. Our troubles are just momentary in the span of eternity. Although the battle is tough the victory is already won!
La said what I’d say….there is NO shadow of turning in HIM. HE is my solid rock and hope and confidence.
The Unrelenting Energy Drain I deal w/is this chronic illness that continues to steal my physical strength, stamina, and independence. As a couple it is Unrelenting as well and affects our ‘coupleness’ and is always challenging us to keep our eyes focused upon HIM as we deal w/the frustrations chronic illness has brought into our marriage. It is our unwelcome companion that walks w/us daily [the part of the marriage vows we hope and pray we never have to learn about! …
Thank you! I turned fifty years old this week and it has been a time of reflection. I see the time quickly passing. I have a grand idea of all the things I want to do for the Lord and for others but I keep saying tomorrow because today is too busy….Thank you for helping me remember that God’s time is eternal…..I must turn the day-to-day tasks over to Him and allow Him to show me the way to accomplish all things in His name.
The reminder that God never changes, and His Word stands true forever is such a comfort. I will cling to Him, and give Him praise for even the most trying of times. Thank you for these words of encouragement in this devotion. :)
I needed that this morning! I am feeling so ‘blah’ and weary lately. My husband and I don’t have any children (tomorrow is one year we’ve been married! woohoo!) but I still feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day to accomplish everything. I am blessed that Suzanne wrote that she wanted to call upon God on my behalf…on everyone’s behalf. It makes my heart feel full with love and hope for everything and everyone. Thank you, Suzanne.
God bless you all. K Smith, I will pray for you and your memories that they may not burden you and hold you down from pressing on!
I need that today. Things are making me remember past events that I have been working with God to move away from.
