“They were on their way to Jerusalem with Jesus leading the way…those who followed were afraid” (Mark 10:32).
They had heard Jesus teach on the green hillsides, they had eaten the bread and fish He miraculously supplied, they had watched boys, girls, men and women touched by His heavenly healing. They believed Him to be the Savior. They followed Him. And now they were afraid. His words now contained the not-so-good news that following meant far more than food and healing and good feelings. Following this Jesus meant walking with Him all the way to the cross in Jerusalem.
We read in the Bible that at the cross only a few women stayed near their bruised and battered Lord, but Scripture and history confirm that the fearful followers eventually returned. Their fear turned into the deep faith that would move mountains of hate, replacing them with love and joy and promise. They would bravely tell the world that following Jesus brings both earthly peace and eternal life. He transforms fear into faith.
Jesus, I’m often afraid on this path of following You, but I’m so grateful that You gently lead and insistently love me in the midst of both faith and fear. I want to be a faith-full follower. Help my faith to grow.

Marilyn, thank you for this devotional. The prayer that is written here says exactly what’s on my heart. It is a beautiful prayer. I can’t answer your question without saying right away that fear will take over if we let it.l Let the LOrd be your guide, pray, pray and pray some more.Knowing that God is my Father and that He loves me and will never leave me simply re-inforces the growing faith in my heart

I have the kind of ALS that I will not be able to talk. I am already at the point, that people can hardly understand me. Just keep your eyes and all He has done for us. Many miracles
were mentioned. Surely there are some in your life too. Birth of a child, healing, strengthening, mountains moved, or daily bread. Never concentrate on things this sinful world has laid on you. Jesus has overcome the world. Just look at what He has done! and don’t give the devil glory with fear and you will have faith!!!
May God give you grace to go through all you have to go through!

For God has not given us a Spirit of fear ,but of love and of power and a sound mind.
you may just feel fear if you are not with God, but if you are with God let Him in you, because with His word you may realized you are important part of His plans, He created you to be with Him and with purposes, He created you to do His will, He created you to learn His knowledge to know Him more and with this you will realized not to fear, because to fear is weak in faith. with the word our God let you to stand firm on your faith to Him and with His word help you to apply it in real and you may understand why He created you, what is your purpose in life? because with His word you may have the right to choose the way you should like in your life.
even life is temporary you may have a better life with God, better steps on His Journey because with Him you may know the truth and life and the way that everybody want to be in their lives even there is trials you know how to survive it because the word of God is in you.with the word there is understanding to think wide before you do it,in our minds our God gave ideas and opinion it help in your way to solve your problem or trials and with this you learn something from our God the word “Trust”, with our God with your whole hearts and souls, and minds and our God know what is the best for us, Just believe and it will be done to you. for every challenge of life, you will learn and there is a lesson to remember for the more trials you have you become brave and with the word of God its gives you strength and hope to walk more in Him, for His eyes is always on you, for His hands is always on your right hand, for His ears always to your voice, for His heart is always to your prayers , for His walks is always with you even in the middle of the storm is there with you and all of your life God was there to take care of you. and you have nothing to worry for your tomorrow because our God will provide and He use instrument to give you comfort and advice and by His mentors show you real love, because their love is with God and you may feel true acceptance coming from our God and once you see them, you will Gods reflection from them because they are true followers of God always ready to help with open heart and minds to all! an with this you will learn to yourself not have to fear, because the word is in you is Jesus
always with you till the end, Isaiah 46:4 even your old age and gray hair, I will sustain you, I will carry you, I made you with My hand, I will rescue you says the Lord God to all His people seeking Him so true, for He use many and appear to many a Spirit of truth is working with us even we are many God is working to let everybody knows we are all His children. that we should not have fear because our God is our guidance of our steps
wherever we go God was there always till the end is with us.
because the love of God that makes us all complete and live and with His understanding all that we learn we apply and follow His steps like Jesus!to give light, love and saved life to everyone with the word of God there is true life only on His Journey!

when i am afraid of the unknow,i just look up to Jesus the author & finisher of our faith,trusting in the victory of the cross that all things will work together for my good.
It’s very great that we know that Jesus is a healer and His peace is here and waiting for us to receive. I am afraid of failure, embarrassment, and high places. I put high places last because I conquer that one every chance I get, roller coasters don’t stop me. failure and embarrassment are a little more tough. there has been so many things I have passed on because of these fears and afterward kicking myself because of not trusting God and taken a risk. I know that God loves me and He will never leave me or forsake me and I am working very hard to follow His leading in every aspect of my life and getting over these fears well be the best thing for my life and hopeful career.
Like you, Wanda, I have been afraid when hearing dreaded news from the doctor. I have found that my weakness is an opportunity for the Lord to run to me with His strength. Can’t you just see Jesus running, his hair blowing in the wind, as He
hurries to help one of His own. He wants you blessed. He wants you able to witness to His strength, even in circumstances when our faith is low. Rejoice in that His arms are strong and His love for you is great!

I wanted you to know that I will pray for you and your healing. I pray that you will feel the comfort of our Lord and Savior with you. I think that everyone is afraid but He is there to take that burden from us all. Please use the blessing of the internet to inform yourself about ALS. When I am afraid I pray and it is awesome that the heart stops racing and peace comes. Please pray for me I need a job and in March I will have know place to live. I am believing that God will bless me with all my needs
