What can people do to restart their lives after divorce? Recently we blogged about how the commonly expressed statistic that 50% of marriages end in divorce is probably inaccurate. That comes as little consolation, however, to those who have gone through the agony of divorce, or are currently living out that reality day-to-day.
Counselor Lynette Hoy experienced the fallout from divorce secondhand after her parents divorced when she was twelve years old. She begins her article “Life After Divorce: Now What?” by saying:
Divorce is a great loss and a crisis that has a huge impact the lives of everyone involved.

Does your relationship need help?: Talk to a mentor
Do you want to start over?: Facing the future after a major loss
In my years of counseling I have heard many divorcees voice the same concerns. Many express their feelings of loss, betrayal and confusion. This isn’t the way the story is supposed to end. For many divorcees the question becomes, “now what?” Divorce is not the end of the road. It isn’t easy, and it often is not what we would have chosen, but God can help you make wise decisions to deal with the transitions you face.
If you are going through a divorce, went through one in the past, or know someone who is struggling with divorce, please take a few minutes to read through “Life After Divorce: Now What?” Feel free to share your journey in the comments, or if you’d prefer to speak to someone privately & confidentially, contact a mentor to talk.
