God promises you His divine power as you go through life! He promises His power to help you live a life that pleases Him. Imagine! The power of God at work in your life to help you move from the ruts you find yourself in to new heights of living! It happens through our knowledge of who God is, how He sees us and though our honest desire to invite Him into the places where our lives are less than we want them to be.
If this is your desire today then write the following verse out on a stickie and put it where you will see it daily. Pray the following prayer every morning. Get out your Bible and ask God to speak to you. Find a friend to talk with about these things.
God has all you need to help you walk where you walk today. Determine to get to know Him in a better way and take action today to do that. He is waiting for you to participate in this journey and to escape the ruts that bog you down.
God’s divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. Through these (His glory and goodness) He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them (the promises) you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires ” ( 2 Peter 1:3&4).
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you that through Your divine power I have all that I need today to get through life and to be a godly person in the process. Thank you that You have given me promises in Your Word. I believe Your Word, please open my heart today to the help of Your Holy Spirit. Thank you that I can actually participate in the divine nature of Jesus and be different where I walk today because of Your power at work in me and through me.
Fill me with Your Spirit now. Help me in the practical circumstances of life today to be wise and
careful. Help me in my relationships today to show Your love and grace. Give me physical and emotional strength. Thank you that I will need nothing today that You cannot lovingly and abundantly supply me with as I allow You access to my whole life today. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
Questions: How can you access God’s divine power as you go through life? What do you need God’s power for today to help you through a difficult situation?

Em will pray for you. The children are lucky to have you in their lives as a light of hope.
Thank you! I will remind myself all day that I have “all I need”!
Thank you. I really needed to hear this today, as I have a ‘tougher’ assignment this year, as a teacher in NY. I’m teaching in an inner-city, lower-income school, and some of the children are very difficult to handle. I was called an inappropriate comment today, and I have been continually going day by day with the Lord’s grace. This school, the staff, the neighborhood… really need God’s touch and grace… there is so much emptiness, and neediness of God’s mercy. Thanks for reminding me that God won’t put us in situations He knows we cannot handle w/o Him, and that we should turn to Him for strength – Lord knows I need that strength! Thanks for your regular prayers & encouragements. God bless.
Gail I would just like to say a Big Amen to what Angela said. Hugs, Linda!!!
I don’t usually comment on the devotionals, but I have noticed lately that many of them (including this one) are speaking to issues I’m dealing with in my life. Thank you for sharing this. I’ve been struggling with the feeling of defeat and emotional powerlessness, but what an awesome reminder of who God is, the power that He instills in each of His children, and the necessity to remain connected to Him (because we can do nothing a part from Him). Thank you!
I love this devotion today. There are areas in my life, especially in family relationships that could use a little more of that divine power. Unfortunately, my human nature seems to shine through more often than God’s power. I offer those areas up to God, but I more often respond to situations in a less than loving manner. It is difficult because of circumstances. We ae in financial stress. My husband wants to control finances and has for 30 years. But I realize in past few years that he wasn’t really doing a good job. How do I help and guide without seeming like a money police? I am so tired because I feel I have to constantly monitor all spending. How do we respond in more positive, loving manner but still make sure everyone is on the same page? I think that is why for so many years I let him handle money. He is older, has a master degree and it always causes arguements when I got involved. Now I realize, the way he handles money has such a big impact on me, my children, and my future.
WEBMASTER: On another note, the past few times, I can’t see the comments the other responders make even though it says there are 4 comments. When I go back to devotion, my comment is not there either. It does say TWEET there. I wonder if Tweet page is getting mixed up with response page somehow.
Thank you so much for this devotional, Gail. God continues to speak to us through the devotionals here.
Thank you for the comfort and the hope that this devotional brings. God bless you.
Dear Angela, Thank you!
You have inspired and encouraged my own heart this morning.
May you feel God wrapping you in His presence and holiness today.
You have been a blessing!!
Love & prayers,

Gail! Once again….you have hit the nail on the head for me this morning. I plan to print this prayer and hang it on my bulletin board next to my desk, so that I can read it daily. You are such a blessing to me. I hope your friends and family know how blessed they are to have you in their lives! Please keep writing! With much love, Angela
