“He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God” (Micah 6:8).
Micah sifts Old Testament law into three simple principles for living:

A picture forms in my mind of what it means to walk with God: one whose attention is focused on God, who follows His commands, who is daily in tune with God’s leading, who seeks to serve and please God.
Beyond these actions, the attitude of the heart is crucial. When we recognize who God is (righteous, holy, almighty) and who we are (sinful, impure, weak) there is only one way to walk with God: humbly.
Let us rise to the challenge of walking humbly with God. We must recognize our short-comings but rest in His unfailing love. It’s time to trust in His wisdom rather than our own and seek His will instead of demanding what we want.
Heavenly Father, I want to be like Enoch and Noah who walked with You. I want to be like those mentioned in Revelation who will walk with You dressed in white. Help me to daily humble myself and follow Your leading. Amen.
