“In the future, when your children ask you, ‘What do these stones mean?’ Tell them that the flow of the Jordan was cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD. When it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. These stones are to be a memorial to the people of Israel forever” (Joshua 4:6-7).
After God provided for the Israelites to cross the Jordan River,

Life Lesson: Time management
Are you still growing spiritually?: Check your compass and let God lead you
Think about a time you were completely in awe of God. Maybe it was the day you accepted him into your heart. Maybe it was on a cool summer night when you saw the sky full of stars. Throughout the business of the day, it is so easy to forget all of the things God has done and will continue to do for us. We get stressed about the things we need to do, forgetting that he will always provide.
The Israelites had this monument to remind them that God provided for them. Ask God to remind you today about how amazing he is. Think about how his beauty is shown in even the mundane things. On your commute to work, marvel about how God provided this job and a way to get to the job, see his beauty in the clouds or even the rain. Think about the day that God won your heart. Never forget what he has done for you on the cross. Never forget that he is the almighty creator and provider.
I have a reminder that I always have with me. I wear a butterfly necklace that I never take off as a reminder of the transformation God has already done in my life and will continue to do.
Sometimes, people ask why I wear it all the time. It gives me an opportunity to tell the story of how God provided for me.

Questions: What instances of God’s provision have you forgot about and need to be reminded of? How can you let the truth that God provides affect your daily life?
About the Author Sarah Fleischman
i am reminded of God’s almighty provision everytime i get filled with fear and break up my 7 yr relationship. i’ve learned i can’t live in fear and faith at the same time…i must make a choice. Everytime i try to logically reason why it will never work, God allows me the “break up” time to watch Him work. i have been trying to “make” the relationship work instead of simply being IN it. i wanted everything my way, well, b/c MY way is the ‘right way’…yet God keeps showing me i can’t change another person…this is HIS job! It’s amazing how HE teaches us about love isn’t it? HE tells us Love knows no limit to it’s endurance, no end to it’s trust and no fading of it’s hope. It can outlast anything! “Love never fails”. i’m in awe of God teaching me to stop working so hard ON the relationship, to just BE in it and to let HIM ‘work’ on it. i’ve learned to put the whole thing in HIS hands, be filled with Faith instead of fear and B R E A T H E! Bless you Sarah for this devotional.
This article brings to mind a day 20+ years ago that I desperately needed forgiveness. I fell to my knees and cried out to the Lord and I literally felt a washing of peace come over me. Have rarely thought about that regretful thing since. Why do I forget that feeling?? I should rejoice and be thankful about it every day! :) Thank you Lord for forgiveness!!!
