Take a deep drink of living water
You have a role in maintaining a healthy mind and heart. Invite God to help you guard the wellspring of your soul.
“Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life” (Proverbs 4:23).
Father God, I confess that I have not paid enough attention to what is going on in my heart and mind. I realize I have not been guarding my heart and what has been bubbling up from my wellspring is often fearful and negative.
I’m sorry for the sour reactions this often causes me to have.
Please help me to be aware of what I allow to settle into my heart. Remind me, by the power of Your Holy Spirit, to guard my heart today. Help me to choose to pay attention to what parades through my thoughts.

Life Lesson: Biblical perspective on the end times
Experience It: Walk in the power of the Holy Spirit
Fill me with Your peace and joy, as I trust in You. May the overflow of my heart be filled with the confident expectation that You are with me and You will guide me and help me so that Your name gets all the praise.
I pray this in the name of Jesus, my Savior and my Lord. Amen.

Guarding our hearts, the wellspring of our lives is definitely a challenge that we should all take up every day. Thank you ladies for taking the time to post!
I love what you said Lori, that we must protect and guard it even if that means feeling isolated from others because we are never alone. Jesus is always there, strengthening us.
Tammy, it sounds like you already know your answer regarding this man in your life. It does sound like he doesn’t want to pay it back and that he hasn’t learned anything about financial management since you said that you I loaned him the money to keep him from going to jail for unpaid child support.
Biblically when we loan someone money we should be willing to forgive the debt. If you just broke up with him for the second time, and he really hasn’t changed, then perhaps it is time to forgive the debt and walk away. Let me pray for you:
Dear Lord, I lift Tammy up before you today and ask that You would give her much wisdom and discernment regarding this unpaid debt and this broken relationship. Father, You have promised that You will make the rugged places plain, and the crooked places straight, and so I ask that You would show Tammy exactly what it is that You would have her do. Amen.
Thanks for that beautiful prayer
Building up resentments feeling hurt and disrespected on my job and allowing those feelings to grow seed, instead of putting my focus on God and allowing Him to be my comfort and source.
Thank you for another good reminder in a devotional here today. I find, that if I’m not guarding my heart, then I get absorbed into the worLd. I like to think of my heart as the truth, and the alternative is deception and evil (no fine line). I agree we should remind ourself in every moment to guard the most important muscle of our body, both in a physical and (more importantly) a spiritual way. Our heart affects our judgement. It’s OK to protect and guard it (and we should according to scripture), even if that means feeling isolated from others. We’re never alone, because Jesus is w/ us in His Holy Spirit. He’s our one forever “true” friend, and we need to protect Him, as He is our Savior and Redeemer~ He is our Heart.
Just the prayer I needed to pray today for a noisy, negative heart. Thank you!
Also today it has been a good devotional.I liked the prayer in particular.Thank you and God bless.
I have recently ended a relationship. It was a rekindled from 10 years ago. I ended up loaning moneyin the amount of $5400.00. He has paid $250.00 towards the balance. He is now bringing up things that happened all the years ago when we were together the first time. I truley believe that he is not wanting to repay me the loan. The balance needs to be paid in full to have a clean break with this. I am trying to do this bibically, but how do I do it. He claims to be a changed man, a christian. I want to believe him, but he is showing the traits that he used to have. There is no signed contract & I have no proof that I loaned him the money. I loaned him the money to keep him from going to jail for unpaid child support. What do I need to do? Please be in agreement to pray with me about this situation…Thank you & God bless
