Are the storms of life closing in on you today? We would love to pray for you.
“I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind.” (Genesis 13-15)
After the flood Noah exited the Ark and God made a Covenant with him. God gave Noah a promise that never again would He cause such destruction. He also noted that seasons here on earth would continue, and a rainbow would appear as a reminder of His promises. Just as God was with Noah during the devastating flood, He promises to be with us during our seasons and storms of life as well.
Last week, my husband and I were traveling home on an airplane and the weather was gloomy. While in flight, we hit some rough turbulence. As the storm intensified, the pilot took a safe detour around it. Within minutes, the turbulence subsided and we were back on route without much delay in our arrival time. The pilot took us around the storm but God typically takes us through the storms of life.
Once safely on the ground, my husband and I grabbed our luggage and headed home in our car. The weather outside remained unfavorable. Clouds, rain, and gloom accompanied us. Similar to the weather blanketing the day, I too harbored my own inner storm. Our trip produced a tidal wave of unexpected emotions. A wave of feelings, emotions, and sorrow stirred within my core. As the outside storm continued to produce rain, my inner storm generated tears from within. I recall asking God to release me from the storm brewing within.
Suddenly the rain outside ceased, the clouds parted, and a beautiful rainbow appeared. There was no way of missing it. Immediately, I acknowledged God was with me and He would cease my inner storm too. No sooner did my husband say, “Look honey there’s a rainbow”. My inner storm subsided. My heart was in all struck wonder by God’s beauty, love, and perfect timing. It seemed as though He placed that rainbow in the sky just for me. He carried me through the storm and turned my darkness to light. Thus, to those that seek Him, he promises to be a refuge during the inevitable storms of life.
Dear Lord, life is full of storms, sorrows, and uncertainty but the one thing that never ceases to change is your love. Bestow your peace into the middle of our storms. In the precious name of Jesus we pray, Amen
Questions: Are you currently going through a storm? Have you ever felt as if God had sent a rainbow in the sky just for you?

Dear George, I pray that God continues to uphold you in the palms of His hands. I pray that you will continue to hang onto the hope that He is with you through every storm of life that comes your way. Father God, I pray that you will bring forth a promise, a rainbow in George’s life as a reminder that you are faithful. In Jesus name, Amen
I have been going through quite a rough patch since November as my fiancée and me recently broke off. Alot of which was due to my ignorance and arrogance in not being sensitive to her needs and heed her subtle messages to me regarding her unhappiness with some of my actions and behavior throughout the 1 year we were staying together. What made it worst was a 3rd party an ex boyfriend who came into the picture, comforting her. I am trying very hard to win her back, even though it seem a hopeless situation. This is a girl I wanted to marry, having gone through my own divorce afew years back due to my own infidelity and hers as well.. Daily it is a struggle, but I cling on to the hope, and reminder that he will soar with me through the storms..
My sister, My Friend, God still awes me too! You understand the gift of the “Rainbow”, Thank You for sharing, God Bless You in always ,always
We are going through a series of rain storms where I live now, and I feel as if they are being carried deep in my heart, as well. While many are thanking God that it is not snow, I am praying that the temperature drops so that we can see the beautiful white glow of the sparkling white powder accumulate on the ground instead of the heavy grayness that is weighing me down on the inside.
Barbara, your reminder that God’s rainbow is never far behind our storms and that He always indwells us to hear our cries is just what I needed today to help me through this storm I am experiencing. Thank you so much for your encouraging words. God bless you!
