God Can Use Me
Do you ever feel like giving up on someone? There are times when it seems like all our best efforts are having zero impact. We pray for our friend to discover Jesus. We extend love and compassion. We engage that person in spiritual conversations. We make ourselves vulnerable as we share our story. But nothing seems to happen. Our friend doesn’t feel the need to change, and shows no interest in the Gospel.
Paul writes these incredible words to Christians: “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6). “Until the day of Christ Jesus” – that’s a long time! Our God is ferociously determined. He’s relentless in the way He pursues people and transforms them, little by little, over the long haul.
Action Points:
- Watch “God Can Use Me”. Think about the people you’ve wanted to reach for Christ, and the ways you’ve wanted to make a difference for Jesus. Is there anything or anyone you’ve given up on? Ask God to help you persevere, and to show you what the next step might be.
- Share God Can Use Me with your friends using your favorite social media site. Try to include a personal message of encouragement to inspire your Christian friends to persevere even when results aren’t instantaneous.
